Christmas is goin to the dogs in the latest Steely & Cuff Mystery!

Full of grace & grit, Steely Lamarr, and her beloved sidekick, Cuff, find themselves wrapped up in a twisted holiday caper, involving an eerie Secret Santa mystery, a dangerous stalker, and a spine-chilling murder. What begins as a charming, small-town Christmas, evolves into an unfortunate Feliz Navidead.

Twinkling lights and mistletoe adorn the streets of Buckleville, Texas as the town gears up for its annual Reindeer Stampede. When someone close to Steely’s heart begins receiving creepy Secret Santa gifts, a mystery revolving around a dangerous obsession, and a long-time vendetta, unfolds.

One silent night, murderous night, dread supersedes holiday merriment with the grisly death of an innocent man. Chief Becker enlists Steely, and her progressing sleuthing skills, to assist with the cases. Steely, Cuff, and their motley crew find menace lurking around every corner as they track down the person behind the frightening gifts, and a vengeful killer.

Can Steely and Cuff help discover who’s behind the frightful Christmas nightmare, or will they become the next victims? Said the night wind to its little prey, do you fear what I fear?

Cat Clayton was a gypsy in a past life. In her current life, she’s a wife, a mother, a writer, and an artist. She writes best with gallons of coffee, Goldfish, Raisinettes, and dill pickle slices. Although, usually not all at once. Writing from somewhere in Texas, she loves to put her amateur sleuths into precarious situations, force them to stumble upon dead bodies, help them solve the whodunits. Think Murder, She Wrote, but with a contemporary & humorous chick-lit vibe. (Oh, and at least one hot cop.)

Took a very roundabout way to get to the real nitty-gritty.

A good read but I must admit that at one stage I was starting to loose interest until it got all exciting again. So keep read and you'll be rewarded. The plot is a slightly convoluted one starting with a murder, then a secret Santa gifts before ending in abduction and murder. The characters are all growing on me and I must admit that i have a soft spot for the small but mighty Cuffley and his devotion to Taffy.
It all started with the death of the car dealer but progresses into a stalker. Someone is leaving her baby gifts (following the 12 days of Christmas) and there have been sightings of a Peeping Tom. Her blood runs cold when she thinks of someone so focused on her sister. Then there is the slimy 'drug dealer', the thieving Santa and Cuffley seems to be very sick. Another death, her sister collapsing, an abduction and then a showdown. Will they get to the answer and make sure her sister and her baby will be safe?

There are indeed worse things than getting a lump of coal for Christmas - far nastier and more lethal.

By her side always, Chiquita- Cuff is a master at conversation, style, and protection.

Sister Stoney is suffering more consequences from her captivity than PTSD. A jealous and twisted man is out there somewhere, still bringing harm and other ugliness to more folks- and the baby Stoney is carrying makes them both an ongoing target for the twisted monster.

Steely will be forced to face more of her own demons, perhaps with Jackson at her side. I still think Cuff is a better bet for timely protection. The cop may have other advantages.

I cannot wait for the next time Steely & Cuff take a bite out of crime!

This is book three in the Steely & Cuff Cozy Mystery series and like the first two, if you love a good laugh along with a cozy type mystery, then you are going to love this one too. This time Steely and Cuff (the adorable Chihuahua) find themselves in a Christmas time caper when Chief Becker enlists her help. Her sleuthing skills haven’t failed her yet, so with the Srubadub grooming crew giving her an assist, Steely finds herself hunting down a killer. Can she solve the case before becoming the next victim?

Filled with laugh-out-loud moments, tons of madcap adventure, and a motley crew of zany characters, you are going to love this new book in the series.

I want to say how happy I am that there is going to be a 4th book! I’m hoping there will be many more after that, too! The characters are fantastic. Gertie and Daniel are so funny! Cuff is a hero! Reading about what Stoney went through had me shedding tears, and how Steely is dealing with her aversion to guns since her mom died has me shedding more. One can easily get wrapped into the lives of these characters. The mysteries really kept me guessing. So many different angles to consider! If you like fun, mysterious and heartfelt family, then you will love this series!

Once again, I was delighted to visit the small Texas town of Buckleville and its merry band of sleuths! Steely, Cuff and the gang find themselves preparing for Christmas when what should suddenly appear, mysterious letters and presents, a dead body and a gaggle of Santas-in-training. I throughly enjoyed this book and have been charmed by the citizens of Buckleville. If you want an escape from the daily grind, do yourself a favor and read Cat Clayton’s cozy mysteries!
