Millionaire software developer Jake Radcliffe has no intention of staying in New York any longer than necessary. All he needs to do is help his widowed mother close her famed candy shop and move her to Florida before she breaks more bones on the icy sidewalks. He was prepared for his stubborn mother’s objections. What he wasn’t ready for was staying under the same roof with her tempting pastry chef.
Chef Pilar Falcon wants nothing to do with romance. Her ex-boyfriend made sure of that. Preparing for The Sweet Spot’s 25th anniversary gala occupies most of her free time. So, avoiding her boss’s grumpy and entirely too sexy son shouldn’t be a problem. Except … it is.
It’s not long before Jake realizes there’s more to Pilar than her endlessly cheerful holiday spirit—and Pilar takes notice of the warm heart Jake hides beneath his tough exterior. But then a rival for the business—and Jake’s heart— comes to the scene, testing Pilar’s newfound trust in love. Will Pilar and Jake’s Christmas romance melt by Valentine’s Day, or will it be as sweetly seductive as a mouthful of chocolate?

First, I want to thank Sophia Knightly for providing me with this book so I can bring you this review.
The Holiday Sweet Spot By Sophia Knightly left me craving lots of chocolate! The food that was described in this book just made your mouth water! I wanted to jump in and taste a bite or three! It made me smile that the inspiration for Emily in this book was Sophia’s Mom Emilia. May she rest in peace.
I really loved Pilar’s character and how she really got to know the employee’s of the restaurant on her first day there on a personal level. She went above and beyond to find out how life would be like if they didn’t have their job. Something Jake never cared or thought to think of. In my eyes that is a great quality to have. So, I commended her for doing that.
Having the setting of the book be at a candy shop was such an original idea. Not to mention made for a very unique storyline. I love when authors think outside of the box and use their creativity to do something to shake things up!
Sophia Knightly is my happy place. Her stories are like food for the soul. At first glance, The Holiday Sweet Spot reads like a Hallmark movie. Jake is the adorably, frustrating Scrooge with an agenda. Pilar is the clueless, optimist determined to make her dreams come true. However, peer a little closer and there are lessons to be learned about life, love and living in the moment. Add in a wily, irresistible matchmaker and the stage has been set to steal away with your heart.
I thought I recognized this author. I've read her books a couple times before. And for some reason was like ooo I know this sweet romance writing about half way through lol. A very sweet story of two people from totally different walks in life. One who doesn't want anything to do with relationships. She had a bad heart break and doesn't want another. And one who can't stand to be in one spot for long. He's all over the world selling his software. But when they spot each other the sparks fly.
A cute holiday romance. Jake the millionaire software developer who's always on the move comes home to have his mother retire and moved to Florida. He's not staying in NYC longer than necessary. Pilar the pastry chef was hired to make dessert for the 25th anniversary party of Jake's mom's candy store "The Sweet Spot" problem is they are both staying at his mother's house in NYC. I really enjoyed this story. It was fun, sexy, with a HEA. I recommend this book.
Oh what a fun loving read this was. I am so in love with the Falcon family. They are fun, exciting, loud and loving people. In the first book we read about Gabe and his restaurant, now we get Pilar's story. And what a fun and exciting story it is.
Pilar has always felt that she is missing out on something. That something being her dream to open her own sweet shop, full of her dessert creations. But sadly she only works for the family business. Yes she gets to make her sweet treasures, but it is not the same. So when an opportunity to do the famous New York's boutique The Sweet Spot candy shop's 25th anniversary gala's desserts, she jumps on the chance. Pilar is so excited about the opportunity she is about to embark on. A dream come true.
Jake is home for the holidays and he is on a mission. A mission to get his mom to sell The Sweet Spot and move to Naples, FL. But little does he know, his mother has a plan of her own. A plan in the package of a cute Spanish angel.
Pliar and Jakes story is like a Hallmark magical movie moment. Jake struck by the beauty of Pilar and Pilar trying to hold back. Pilar is scared of her heart breaking and Jake is determined to make her his. I would love to see this book come to life on Hallmark or a movie.
Overall this book is so magical. Even though Christmas is over it is a marvelous must read. One full of hope and wonder. The chemistry between these two characters is amazing. With so much love and magic this book is sure to be at the top of your favorites list. A true feel good read. Grab a glass of wine and cuddle by the fire, because this book is sure to warm your soul.
I can't wait to see what is in store next for the Falcon family.
Pilar has been invited up to New York by Chocolatier, Emily Radcliffe, to cook and make the desserts for the 25th Anniversary of her chocolate shop, The Sweet Spot. Upon arrival at Emily's house she is confronted by Emily's son, Jake. Jake is staying with his mom to help her get ready for the anniversary party. There is something electric between Pilar and Jake. Pilar is cautious because she had her heart broken by her last boyfriend and trusting someone with her heart is hard for her. Pilar and Jake have a moment while decorating the Christmas tree but when Jake gets a text message from Jessica, a woman he has know since childhood, Pilar does not know if the vibes she was getting from Jake are real or if she is just a holiday interest. Jake assures Pilar that he is not interested in Jessica but Jessica is interested in Jake and maybe something else. This is the 2nd book in the Falcon family love series. Each book is stand alone. As always Sophia Knightly does not disappoint with her stories or her characters. Enjoy New York at Christmas! I volunteered to read and review this book.
I can’t believe this is the first book I’ve read by Sophia Knightly, but I sure picked a winner to start with. This book has it all, loving families, tasty chocolates/desserts, laugh out loud moments, and sexy times. Pilar goes to New York to prepare a Christmas dinner for Emily’s employees and then all the desserts for the 25th anniversary holiday party of The Sweet Spot. Emily has invited her to stay in her home. Jake, Emily’s gorgeous son, answers the door when Pilar arrives. Emily and Pilar get along great. Jake and Pilar start to spend time together and the chemistry is smoking. Pilar starts to doubt Jake though, when Jessica shows up or texts. Is Jessica going to com between them? If she gets her way, she will. I won’t leave any spoilers about everything that happens, so grab your copy and get ready to fall in love with these wonderful characters
Wonderful story. Pilar is traveling to New York to help with The Sweet Spot - 25th Anniversary, this chocolate store is everything to Emily, but not for her son who wants to sell the story and move his mother to Florida. Jake needs to help with the gala for 25th Anniversary, having Pilar there only makes things better. Jake is clueless and Pilar stop trusting him. He needs to do something, to prove that Pilar is the one for him. Loved this story, the characters and the Sweet Spot, I want to visit that store.
This is the second book in the series. I loved Pilar. Her compassion and kind heart is one of my favorite things about the book. I loved the picture of Christmas in NYC this book created in my head. It felt so magical. I loved how important family and traditions are to Pilar. The chocolate shop was awesome and somewhere I would want to visit. The best way to describe this book is it made me happy. I thought it had the magical feel of the holiday along with the romance of it. Though Jake needs to see what's in right in front of him before it's too late. It's a book I easily got lost in.
This is a great book with a wonderful story and well developed characters. The story flowed very well and was very enjoyable. This book will keep you reading long into the night and you will not want to put this book down until you finish. This was such a great read and full of surprises. I am looking forward to reading other books by this great author.
A cute holiday read with some drama about Pilar a Chef who's gonna help Emily with the 25th anniversary of her chocolate store and Jake, Emily's son who wants to pack up his mom to Florida so she's not in danger of breaking any more bones. This was a really sweet and fun story. I received a copy of this story through Candid book reviews, and I'm voluntarily leaving this review.
These two are clearly attracted but relationship's seem to be a tug of war for them. She doesn't want one and I'm not sure if he even knows the rules, lol. Matchmaking was a sweet challenge. Pilar and Jake are a bit frustrating at times but their story is intriguing. I received a free copy with obligation and am voluntarily reviewing.
This book grabbed me from page one. This was a very lovely holiday romance and the second issue in series. This is the story of millionaire software developer Jake Radcliffe and Chef Pilar Falcon. Loved the awesome characters and the chocolate shop.
I absolutely loved this book the characters were great! All the setting were brilliant! It made the places seem real. I loved how it turn out in the end!
