Since the early-Eighties, he has conducted interviews and written regular feature articles for a wide variety of publications in the US, the UK, France, Germany, Japan and Australia, dealing with all aspects of the entertainment business: the artistic, the technical and the entrepreneurial.
A native of London, England, who relocated to America in 1995, Richard has had his work published in newspapers ranging from the New York Post and the Sydney Morning Herald to Britain's Observer, Independent and Daily Mail, as well as magazines such as Playboy (US, Brazilian, Czech, French, Japanese and Polish editions), Stern (Germany) and Paris Match (France). "...Nothing can supplant the experience of seeing Marilyn on-screen."
There have been hundreds of books written about Marilyn Monroe, but few live up to this filmography style book in terms of quality. Richard Buskin has thoroughly researched each of her films and includes an extensive cast list for each one. There is a review and rare behind-the-scenes information for each film, including the early ones like Scudda Hoo! Scudda Hay! and a few screen tests. There is also a biographical section, divided into three parts.

"[Marilyn's] unfulfilled promise is why she still remains so elusive, so enigmatic. Buskin has done a great job covering her life and her films in his enumeration of Marilyn's career in Blonde Heat. Marilyn is long gone, but her films remain, and what seems universally agreed upon is how she loved the camera and it loved her back. Marilyn was simply born for the camera. 'No matter what her lack of technique was every shot of her — as long as she didn't back out of her light — was a treasure. She just could not be badly photographed. It was impossible.' — Actor David Wayne"

Wow, this was supposed to be something to honor the Great Monroe.

No new information, but it was lovely to have all of her films in one book with all the information there. A nice read if you are a new fan or do not know much about her movies.
