3.5 stars. A very interesting tale of the macabre, featuring an evil entity, a homeless man, and a little boy. Now normally I don’t enjoy stories that have constantly changing POVs, but this was fairly pleasant. We got firsthand views of all three aforementioned characters, which kept things fresh and clear. And it also gave us much needed insight into each person’s mindset and motivations, in addition to the conflicts brewing, too. Reg and the parasite battling each other internally was fantastic. I guess that I wanted this to be a little longer and more fleshed out, but otherwise, it’s a unique spin on several horror staples. And, if I may add, a great way to kick off the holiday season, too.

A quick fun read, a bit bonkers but I enjoyed the characters and the dark humour.

Another superb work from Mathew Cash. A great one if you’re looking for something quick to read which is fast paced and a real page turner. A horrifying story with Cash’s trade mark detailed descriptions of gory scenes and realistic characters and friendships. Nice little twist at the end which I didn’t see coming.

This is another excellent piece of work by the accomplished Matthew Cash. Frosty is a very well-paced and occasionally disturbing read that doesn’t disappoint.
As I’ve come to expect from Cash’s story-telling, you enter into a world of vivid visuals, dark humour and superbly crafted characters all of whom are very real, generating various emotional connections with the reader. The narrative is original and superbly executed, effortlessly blending together varied aspects of the horror genre spectrum.
Frosty is one of those books you’ll find incredibly difficult to put down until you’ve read the very last word. A brilliant read and a must for your collection.

Another brilliant tale from Matthew Cash. Creepy, gory horror juxtaposes innocence and hope while a fast paced narrative keeps you turning the pages.

Frosty by Matthew Cash is a well-paced, disturbing read that is very hard to put down. Cash’s characters tug at your heart while the maddening suspense crushes your mind.
This engaging story is interesting, compelling, and well-presented. Cash leaves just enough to the imagination to keep the reader on their toes and create brutal tension and build-up. While it is not Extreme Horror, Frosty does contain some disturbing content and gruesome sequences. With the addition of Psychological Horror aspects, this story crosses subgenre boundaries without apology. To say more about that would risk giving something away, and I abhor spoilers in reviews.
Of course, a definitive part of a well-executed story is excellent characterization. Cash delivers. These engaging characters are rich with personality and evoke both sympathy and empathy. Well, for the most part. Some characters evoke anger and disgust, naturally, but you get the idea.
This is a story that you will love and hate and love to hate because it will grab you by your fears and stab you in the feels.

Seven year old Stevie is a lonely boy who just wants to play in the snow and have a friend to build a snowman with. Reg is a vulnerable homeless man who is pretty much invisible to society. They form an unlikely friendship by chance.
As with all of Cash's works, the setting is well captured and the characters are realistic and identifiable; ones you can empathise with or downright dislike. But of course, it wouldn't be a Matthew Cash book without the looming threat of something gross and other-worldly, in this case a parasitic alien life form. Stevie and Reg are in danger, as indeed is all life on earth. Can this duo of underdogs save each other and the whole of mankind?

A short snory story with a cool premise. Little Stevie is a sweet soul and makes a surprising connection to something very bad. I enjoyed this one.

Brace your heart, soul and mind. This is a short story that can break even the dead of heart.
It takes a lot for a cold black hearted reader to feel pain and empathy within the opening pages of such a short story.
This is visceral, but poignant. At the heart of the story is the realisation of innocence and the loss of the same.
Highly recommend.

Frosty is a near-perfect chilling winter’s tale about a young boy who makes friends with a homeless man he discovers in the park.
Unfortunately the homeless man is dead.
And possessed by an alien symbiotic parasite whose only desire is to feed.
With this latest short novella, Uk horror author, Matthew Cash does it again - creating another very brilliantly written horror story that is right up there with some of his best work to date.
If you haven’t read Cash yet, then what are you waiting for? You certainly should - for he is most definitely right up there with some of the UK’s most underrated horror authors, and quite rightly deserves much more attention than he normally gets!
Another cracking story from the undiscovered Uk king of horror!
