Well worth the wait, M. Mabie gave me the conclusion I was hoping for. Break the Faith picked up right where we left off in Break Me Down and it has this ethereal kind of quality that I couldn't resist. Abe and Myra putting their unabiding faith in one another and their newly-desired future took precedence over anything else and it was truly lovely to watch just how devoted they had become in such a short time.

Waiting for that possible other shoe to drop was at the forefront of my mind as it was for our couple. Never knowing just when the incessant reaching tentacles of Lancaster and the cult they both escaped would show itself once more put a small cloud on their burgeoning love and the true sense of home they started to feel with one another. But the devotion that continues to grow for Abe and Myra was incredible to witness and I had this sense of pure happiness as the pages went scrolling by. They finally had someone who had their backs completely and absolutely and with that realization came true and unadulterated passion. A slow burn kind of craving but no less lustful. In a word, beautiful.

Mabie sets Abe and Myra on a course that has the occasional bump in the road but it is filled with sweet surprises and a strength both continue to cultivate with the other firmly by their side. I loved watching as both found their footing and had that same realization that this was indeed true love that no man would put asunder.

For the kind of story that leaves you feeling blissful and all kinds of warm, grab this book and series. It is a trilogy that is gracefully unique and I applaud Mabie for going the distance, wanting to give Abe and his Myra the life they so richly deserved. With secondary characters who complete this journey perfectly, I wouldn't mind more from the town of Fairview and the family of friends I have come to adore.

5 stars all the way!

This trilogy began with a strong introduction to a religious cult in Lancaster. In the first book, we met a docile young widow named Myra and a strong-willed man named Abraham, eldest son of the pastor/cult leader.

The ending of this trilogy was less-than-satisfying. Yeah, one could argue things ended happily. The people in the cult were “freed.” The evil pastor and brother got their comeuppance. Still, some things were just meh. I expected the whole series to be much grittier than it actually was. I think the interactions between Abraham and his father could have been much more dramatic. The reader is TOLD Pastor Hathaway is an evil con man, but the books (specifically books 2 and 3) would have been far more intriguing if we’d been SHOWN (through numerous actions) how Pastor Hathaway and Matthew earned their roles as the antagonists in this series.

I didn’t like the characterization of Myra in books 2 and 3. Her transformation was too quick- so quick it gave me whiplash and I no longer recognized her. Sure, I wanted her to grow and embrace the real world, but as they say, you don’t throw the baby out with the bath water. What I found so compelling about her in the first book was her faith in God and in Abraham. She was sweet and devoted to their marriage because of her belief in what the institution of marriage represents. I loved the woman who wanted her husband to have clean shoes and clean floors. I loved that she wanted to cook their meals. What’s wrong with a woman wanting to doing that? By the end of the trilogy, she was unrecognizable and too much like every other contemporary romance heroine. In my opinion, she lost what made her special. She could have embraced the idea of thinking more for herself and still held on to her sweetness and devotion to Abraham. You can be a free-thinking woman who enjoys taking care of your home and family. Myra became free when she realized she could express her own opinions without fear of eternal damnation. She was physically freed the moment she married a man who didn’t need to control her mind and body in order to feel powerful.

Other things that bugged me were the overuse of sex scenes and the ending. I get it. She was raised to be silent and submissive, and now she’s emerged as a woman who owns her sexuality. I skipped the numerous sex scenes because I didn’t need them to enjoy the story. Once they consummated their marriage in the second book, I was over it. The sexual tension ended, so for me, the additional sex scenes were gratuitous.

As far as the ending goes, I was expecting this book to be the holy war to end all holy wars. I didn’t expect all the chapters about her pursuit of a GED or his quest for a brick-and-mortar furniture store. Those details were nice, but I wanted much more suspense. I saw Abraham and Myra as the ultimate US vs THEM couple. I was looking forward to a lot of drama between them and Pastor Hathaway and a separate skirmish between them and Matthew. I wanted more push-and-pull from Pastor Hathaway to get them back into Lancaster where Abraham would ultimately burn the church to the ground. Yes, I wanted to see it literally burned to ashes and cinder! Instead, I got a tame scene with the FBI and a speech in front of the congregation. I know I’m not the only reader who thought (more than once) that Pastor Hathaway or Matthew would kidnap Myra, forcing Abraham to go back to the cult he’d left to rescue her.

Overall Rating :: 2 stars
Series :: Book three of The Breaking trilogy.
Hero/Heroine :: Abe/Myra
POV :: Alternating.
Cliffhanger :: Nope.
HEA ::

:::

Overall, I was pleased with the trilogy as a whole. It had a lovely HEA, a completely devoted hero, a strong heroine who really came into her own. All of that is wonderful. But, not a whole lot happens. Through the entirety of these three books. Which, to me, sorta defeats the overall purpose of a trilogy - breaking a story up to increase the drama and draw out the tension. There wasn't a whole lot of that. This is really just a story about two people, falling in love and finding their own way (separately and together). If anything, reading this whole thing just made me want to eat more home-cooked meals and buy some handmade furniture. Not a bad thing to take away from a book, but probably not the original intent. I was expecting, and hoping for more focus on Lancaster. On New Mecula (or Newmecula, spelled differently in the first two books). On the cult. I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop, as it should in books, I think. That's where I want my drama. In my books. Not in real life, of course. No thanks on that business. But if you get me to read a book based on a blurb about a cult, and then tell me about roast dinners, and getting your GED (I know more about that process than I did before), and industrial sewing machines, I end up a little confused. Don't let me sarcasm fool you, I did enjoy these books overall. It was a very chill reading experience, but I do feel a bit misled.

This series started out strong, it sucked me in, even though I was annoyed by being surprised by a cliffhanger, and even more annoyed for the long wait for the series to be completed. But I have a strange obsession with books having to do with cults.

I feel like that although the series ended with a HEA, there was so much more that could have been explored, but wasn't. I would have liked more about how they helped people, what happened after, I guess some more detail. I felt a bit disappointed.

Also, if the author is paying an editor and/or proofreader, she needs a new one. While book one didn't have many noticeable errors, or at least enough to pull me out of the story, book two had a significant amount of errors, and this book seemed like no one looked it over. Wrong pronouns abound, typos, wrong words used ( like when you use spell check and sure, you spelled weather correct, but it was supposed to be whether). It took me out of the story quite often trying to figure out what was supposed to be being said.

***ARC received in exchange of an honest opinion ***

With Break the Faith, M. Mabie gives us the conclusion of Mira and Abe's story that we were waiting for!

I really liked the story. I feel like this book was constructed to really tie the knots of the story and put everything together. I like that M. Mabie kept things real and didn't write a fairy tale ending to a story that brought so much realness from the first book.

It was easy to go back to the story and once more feel connected with Abe and Mira. And it was so great to see they grow, both together and also as human beings, despite the shitty hand they have been dealt with in their previous lives. I'm so proud of them, specially Mira! I feel like they were friends and I kept rooting for them and I love that M. Mabie made me feel so invested in her characters and in her story.

I do feel like maybe some things happened a bit too fast in this book, the chapters felt too short for me, so sometimes I had the feeling things were being rushed. But despite that I still felt immersed in the story and captivated by what Mabie created. This is not a book about Faith or Religion, but you can't help but to feel like some of theses characters renew your faith in humanity.

Another great work by M. Mabie. Maybe not as angsty as her previous books, but that's not bad at all. This book was one of those quiet reads that we need once in a while and although it didn't rip my heart out, it did leave a great impression!

I’ve been highly anticipating reading Break The Faith, the final conclusion in The Breaking Trilogy. And trust me, it was well worth the wait!! The storyline was unique which flowed smoothly and M. Mabie did an excellent job with writing a thought provoking, angst filled and engaging conclusion.

Abe and Myra’s story began where it left off in Break Me Down and their journey continued as they were determined to make their relationship work. I definitely endured a rollercoaster of emotions while reading how their love, faith and relationship was tested. Their strength, commitment and deep devotion not only to each other but to their family, friends and especially the residents who wanted to leave their hometown/religious cult in Lancaster was unparalleled.

There were a few unexpected moments in the plot that threw me for a loop and made this story so much better. Everything about Abe and Myra’s love story was beautiful, romantic, the series was incredible and I highly recommend reading it.

soo i started this series because the blurb really intrigued me. But after the first few chapters of the first book, i grew bored with the story. it almost reads like ascript and is just too long. She could have written 1 long story instead of three books and removed a lot of the sentences. the first book is super super slow paced, the second book has unnecessary fillers as well.
I really dont understand why the author would split up this type of book that is basically super mellow and just not that exciting.
All in all it is a very religious book, which is not bad for some , but i would have preferred to have known before starting this series

The final conclusion of Abe and Myra's story. Abe and Myra came form a different world where they were told how to live there life and not getting any say in it. Abe left at the age of sixteen and found that that life was all a complete lie. When he goes back after his brother dies he falls for his brothers wife Myra. This is where their journey begins. Myra finding out there was more to life than looking after a man and keeping house. With Abe's help she comes into her own. They both realise they need to help others realise their own potential. I really like this story. It was a bit different from most romance story but each book kept you entertained on what Myra would experience next and how Abe stop feeling like he was his fathers child. Epilogue was good and great to see where Abe and Myra were at 2 years later.

I had a hard time rating this. Ratings on here or no, though, the author still gets paid. I've got a habit of finishing a book or a series through, I've only ever NOT finished maybe two, so I had to finish this one.
I wasn't overly impressed with this trilogy. It was a good story, but I felt it was lacking. It's told in Dual POV, there's no cheating, and it ends with a HEA.
I had issues with reading this because the grammatical and spelling errors that I saw jumped out at me; I ended up rereading sentences and getting irritated that they were even there. I dunno who does the reading or editing of these books before they're put out there to sell, but they clearly could have done better, because it was an issue in all three books.

Review for the series: this just dragged. It was moderately interesting but not well executed. The second book in the trilogy was a novella, which doesn’t make sense because it’s not branded as such. Which just makes me annoyed that the series wasn’t plotted well.

I think I’m done with this author.

Not only did Abe show Myra how to be her own person after rescueing her from the cult, he loved her.

And he took her on dates. And showed her it was real. And supported her becoming her own person.

And supported anyone coming out of the cult.

And stood up for people.

And showed Myra how to feel good... oh lala.

Loved their story!

Good

Definitely a good, sweet read when you need one. It’s pretty slow moving. For a trilogy, I think alot of day to day could have been removed for a duet, at most. Not alot of drama but tons of personal growth.

Good read

Wonderful love story how Abraham and Myra were truly in love even though there original marriage wasn’t for love. It was very interesting and rewarding to see how they took over by helping members of the cult they escaped from. Throughly enjoyed the book.

This book was a nice conclusion but I think it was little too long and dragged on so I started skimming a little. It ended all wrapped up with a bow on top which is pretty unrealistic but whatever.

Break the Faith was the perfect conclusion to The Breaking Trilogy by M. Mabie.

This book captured every single beautiful and powerful nuance of Abe and Myra’s love story. Told through M. Mabie’s exceptional and thoughtfully crafted writing, Break the Faith brings us into this world one last time as Abe and Myra as they fight for their hearts, their souls, and the world that is once again calling them home. From the very start until the very end, M. Mabie envelops you within their journey of faith, love, and devotion as they push the boundaries once more for what they both know is right and true.

This book is everything this story needed to bring it all together. It closes every loop, gives you every answer, and shows you what comes to be of Lancaster and the people who come in and out of it. Break the Faith is one last little bit of Abe and Myra that will remind you again and again why you fell so deeply in love with them in the first place. This book presents the final pieces of the story and lets you be there with them as they fully embrace who they are, what they want, and what they feel for one another.

Break the Faith perfectly combines a love story with an unforgettable story of family, religion, heart, and what happens when two people are determined to break the cycle that has controlled them and others for far too long.

This story allows you to be with Abe and Myra as they continue their fight for themselves and everyone in Lancaster. It allows you to be there with them as they put it all on the line. It allows you to be there in the moments when they push their hearts to the edge and sear themselves to one another even more than they ever thought possible. It allows you to be there in those moments when they are desperately working to fix a broken community and system that threatens to swallow them whole.

It allows you to be there as they fight, as they fall, and they see that breaking some things for the sake of others may be exactly what is needed.

Abe and Myra were to characters that I instantly loved and rooted for from the moment I met them in Break My Fall. While their story is unconventional to say the least, it is also beyond powerful and real. It is them through and through. The way that M. Mabie once again allows you the most exceptional level of connection to them and their journey puts you right in the thick of it with them as they fight for what they desire most. Getting to be there with them, living and feeling the moments of this book is the cherry on top to this magnificent series.

I could not have asked for more from the conclusion to their story.

It was perfect for them.

It was them.

It was real and raw in a way that was always enough. It was heartfelt and powerful in a way that was unique and refreshing. It was seriously consuming in a way that had my heart and soul in every word of what I read. It was thought provoking in the most authentic way, and it presented such a dynamic and unforgettable world and group of characters that I will never forget.

Break the Faith was Abe and Myra’s journey to absolution. Absolution for their love, for their faith, and for who they were and wanted to be.

Every step of their journey in this series led to this book in the most exceptional way. The way M. Mabie brought it all together in this final book was exactly what was needed for them and their story. The way it all comes together will hit your heart and will have you knowing that you have never quite read a book or series like this one.

From beginning to end Abe and Myra were unapologetically them, and their honesty, their truth, and the beauty of their hearts and their story shines through every single word of this phenomenal book.

Getting to be there as their own individual and intertwined stories came to a close was nothing short of wonderful. Being with Abe and Myra through it all, through every moment of doubt, through every moment of questioning, through every moment where they struggled and fought and tried was everything. Getting to be there as they fought for themselves, for each other, and for their love was more. Seeing every piece of their story in between as they so enthusiastically gave it their all to be in the place they wanted mentally, spiritually, emotionally and romantically was the best.

Break the Faith so exquisitely shows you how every intricate piece comes together in the exact way it’s meant to in order to show you every facet of Abe, Myra, their love for one another, and the way that love takes on new forms and roles as they try to break that cycle.

Simply put, this book has it all. And then some.

M. Mabie has done it again, and I for one can’t wait to see what she has planned next. Her books have a way of transporting my heart and mind into the deepest depths of her characters and stories, and I can’t wait to be where she takes me next... I have no doubt it’ll be nothing short of amazing.

I enjoyed this entire series. This is the final book in the series and it does a good job of answering all my questions and wrapping everything up in a satisfying way. I do wish there would have been a little more in depth about what was going on in the cult and how Myra's brother got to where he was at. Is this something he started or had it been going on for a long time?

Otherwise, everything came together nicely. Myra has found her place and her voice in the world, we understand her unfortunate first marriage better and even Abe's father was a tiny bit redeemed. At least he wasn't the worst of the worst.

YES!!! This is the conclusion to the Breaking Trilogy that I have been waiting for.Thank goodness Breaking the Faith picks up right where the previous book ended because I had to know what was next for Abe and Myra.

I LOVED Myra in this one. Seeing how much she had grown. Learned. Found her voice but didn't lose her kindness. Her heart. A big part of that was Abe. How he stood beside her. Listened to her. Let her ask her questions. Included her in the things that would impact her. Encouraged her to do what was right for her. Let her figure out what faith meant to her.

It was so clear how much they loved each other but I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop. I could feel something was coming, something that would bring back all they had overcome from their early life in Lancaster. And was I right. But I was not expecting what unfolded at all. Talk about jaw dropping.

I loved the way the romance and religion were balanced without being preachy or raunchy. That's not to say it wasn't steamy because these two were HOT! Abe and Myra's love was obvious. I feel it in every interaction, every conversation. It was deep and honest and came from the purest parts of them. Thank you M. Mabie for taking the time to give Myra and Abe the story they deserved. Breaking the Faith was worth the wait and the heartache.

Mabie has a beautiful voice for storytelling, and it shines brightly throughout Break the Faith.

I fell in love with Myra and Abe from the first book. I was so hooked because firstly, what a breath of fresh air in stroytelling! Secondly, these characters are developed in such a way that there is always something to learn about them.

This theme traveled throughout the series, and within Break the Faith, I wanted nothing more than to live in their world. To support Abe's shop, to befriend Myra. I wanted to hug their friends and cuss at other situations. It has been a very long time since I've felt a connection to a group of characters as I do within this series.

I adore Myra's quiet strength. The way her brain works is enchanting, and her innocence is endearing. Abe is, by far, one of my favorite hero's ever. There is nothing sexier than a man who knows what he wants but also fully understands boundaries. Who is fully committed without a second thought.

I guarantee this is a series I will reread again and again. What a beautiful end to a beautiful series. I 100% recommend.

I absolutely loved the ending of this trilogy. In this part of the story we find Abe and Myra, continuing on the path of self discovery, not only for themselves, but most importantly each other. Their relationship slowly builds over time, growing the love they feel for each, with Myra finally trusting her feelings for Abe. Watching these two fall deeper in love with each other, was like a slow burn, watching it ignite into flames. But their pasts are neverfar behind them, and when tragedy strikes someone in Myra's family, they are pulled back to the last place they want to be.......Lancaster.
M Mabie tells a gripping and emotional story, touching on a subject that at times is hard to comprehend happening in the world today, but does it flawlessly. Abe and Myra have to navigate through some ruff waters while they are thrust back into this dark world, and soon realize some ugly and disturbuing truths happening in their former town. I loved getting to see Myra grow into such a strong and confident young woman, and seeing Abe reestablishing his commitmnent to his faith were some of the highlights of the story. This beloved couple will always have a special place in my heart!!!

With the way things ended in Break Me Down, I was left bereft. I sat on pins and needles waiting for the outcome. So many questions to be answered!!!! Abe and Myra had come so far only to be pulled back into what they hoped was behind them.
I loved that I was able to actually see Myra grow and struggle with learning to become independent, something she never would have learned in the life she was born. She has the ultimate support system in Abe, kind and loving Abraham, guiding her yet giving her all the space she needs to find herself and her worth in a world she is still trying to fully comprehend. In all things he has given her freedom, and the understanding of true freedom, to make her own decisions, even if he was not one of them.
I can't imagine the mind frame of a family living in a community such as Lancaster. Yet Mo delivered this story in a way that made me recognize and root for them, my own understanding of how different our worlds could be.
This trilogy was a true testament as to why Mo is one of my favorites. In spite of all the deepest topics that I can even comprehend, she gave me a love story. Thats just what she does.

Myra. Oh my Myra. She has come so far in this trilogy and I love seeing her go from someone who was so timid, afraid and cautious and blossom so beautifully into a strong, and independent woman who knows what she wants and makes no apologies in being happy. The transformation was a beauty to witness over the course of the trilogy, it was a gradual change but the end result was exactly how it should be.

I love Abe too, he was so patient with her, and he knew that she needed time to find who she was and that it was a real possibility that she would feel that she needed to be who she was without him. He has had his own journey through this trilogy too but they both had to face different challenges. In the end though, they are stronger on their own but unbreakable when united.

They found their happiness in each other and they embrace each of their dreams and desires with and without each other. I love their growth, their ups and downs because it was so worth it. I am happy to see them both happy and ready to tackle life together. The ideal ending to one of the most memorable trilogy I have read.

This was a perfect ending to this series!

Abe and Myra are committed to making this relationship and transition work and this slow burn to a happy ending was really enjoyable to read. Both characters had the best character growth possible and it was satisfying to see how each took on qualities of the other throughout their journey; Myra getting Abe's confidence, Abe allowing some of Myra's faith to wash off on him, it was a seamless evolution to read and character growth is a biggie for me so A+ to the author on that.

I applaud the author for taking a chance on this topic as it's off trend and taboo in it's own right. It was very compelling and interesting to read, especially as this kind of stuff still happens in the US today. My only complaint was the resolution to the badness in Lancaster...it was slightly lackluster and quickly resolved and although I didn't expect the outcome I was just surprised there wasn't a bigger lead up to it. However, this story was more about Abe and Myra anyways and their story was fantastic.
