The final book in The Seabirds Trilogy has become one of my family's favorites. It is hilarious, entertaining, and you actually wind up learning things along the way. I love historical accurate books, but those that have a hefty dose of humor to liven things up are the kind of books that are hard to find. It reminds me of an old Bing Crosby musical with the truth of WWII as a backdrop. Love. Love. Love.

GORGEOUS. Simply fantastic. Dare I say my favorite from the trilogy?! Yes!! It's my favorite!!!!! Wow. Once, again, my heart was so touched through the brilliant and colorful tales of adventurous men and women based on real-life historical events. Wow. Can't even. Glasner did it again.

Can someone please make this into a movie? Hollywood? If you're a producer reading this review, please go for it...

It all comes together in this expansive conclusion of the Seabird series...
As WW2 reaches its climax, Piper tells the story of her friends and family: every-day people facing life-changing challenges at diverse fronts of the massive conflict.
From the Australian home front to a Japanese war camp, we're taken along to lesser-known scenes and events of the war, with Glasner's signature insight and scope.
With the classic, brilliant cast meeting new spunky and intriguing characters, the stage is set for more laugh-out-loud entertainment, excitement, and heart. It didn't fail to deliver!
I didn't want this journey to end, and yet I was eagerly flipping pages to see how it all worked out, hoping along with the characters, getting teary-eyed and grinning, caught in the broad, yet personal story of the heroes, unsung and known, of the late 1940s.
You're in for a treat!

I enjoyed this reading book, but not as well as the first two in the series. Somethings in this one, you really just have to suspend reality to continue on with the story. Small sailboats do not travel 30 knots, and we don't say "knots per hour". There are NUMEROUS times that things "just happen" to happen. They just happen to meet up here, just happen to land here, just happen to be there.... SERIOUSLY?? It really got a bit old. Overall it is a good story, just not that well written.
