This is kind of like an encyclopedia for children. Each page has details about things pertaining to the different types of forests. Where they are how many they are the climates and animals in them etc. Each page has photographs and graphs to help explain. For the more advanced reader they can read and look at everything on each page, but for the slower learner (like my special needs teen age son) I only read the main paragraphs on each page that was in the left corner and with only doing this we understood what the writer was pointing out and teaching us. So the other stuff 'adds' to the main plot. But if a reader isn't advanced enough to read it all it wouldn't matter they can still understand and learn from this book.
