Brown Skinned Girl, Became His World
Growing up in a two-parent household is ideal. It’s something some children are blessed to have. Atreus Childs is one of those children fortunate to have a two-parent home. His parents are loving, caring, and nurturing, or at least it started out that way. For a reason unknown to Atreus, his mother flips the script. She went from being Clair Huxtable, the mother from “The Cosby Show” to Mommy Dearest, and not just with him, but toward his father as well. It started with verbal abuse before turning physical. Young Atreus soon starts to have ill feelings toward his mother. Those feelings intensified when she did the ultimate betrayal, sending his father to jail on a lie. That very night, Atreus's feelings turned to hate when his mother continues on her torture with him, but much worse. When he thinks all hope is lost, he finds a window of opportunity to escape his nightmare; he jumps from a second story window. Although hurt, he’s free. From that point on, Atreus made up in his mind that all Black women are wicked and only good for destroying their men’s entire existence. He carries that resentment throughout his adult life until the intimidating, yet alluring brown beauty comes about—Katerra Lane.

I like it
I'm sick of that aggravating Mayor and I wish he get on somewhere!! I wish that Katerra would've never messed with Terrance she has truly messed up. Atreus should've never married that chic bc she going to put him through hell before she'll let him leave.

Black girl magic
I can't believe that ending. Keterra has turned the guys out she has two best friends infatuated with the same woman. I wonder how Atreus is gonna go up against his father in law to be with Keterra. Terrance has already killed two people over Keterra wonder what will he do when he finds out what's going on between his best friend and his girl.

I felt do bad for Atreus and his dad. I wonder what happened to that devil of a mom? Terrance is crazy for sure and I pray they figure it out before it's to late and get that Mitchell dude. Part 2 soon.

Thx book was super good! Somebody need to hurry up see bout Terrance, he is a ticking time bomb. Something bout Mag ain’t right! I sure hope things start to look up for Atreus and Empress. I like them together.

Wow Wow wow
My feelings are all over the place. This book was everything. T is certifiable. Atreus and Kattera went about things the wrong way. K missed me off though. She playing with T emotions and he real life crazy. And not that cute crazy. I just want to feed Mag. Aljin is bad me laughing. He should get with Carol. But I feel for A. He got everything on the !ine and his family sacrificed a lot for him. I need to know what's up with his dad. So many questions. Where is part 2?

Wow
This storyline was so unique. The background message of this read was incredible. Though there was a lot of back and forth I enjoyed this book. This cliffhanger at the end has me on the edge on my seat. I'm anxiously waiting on part 2.

I enjoyed the main characters and the storyline. I did not like the mother and the way she treated her husband and son. I recommend this for anyone to read you will not be disappointed

This series is gonna be lit. I had fun reading it I guess eh is gonna push her towards T and leave A along so things want get worse for them. A wife’s dad got some bad karma coming his way and I can’t wait to see what happens. I think my girl dad finna be a beast to that man cause he don’t know who daughter he’s fucking with. I can’t wait to read more of ur books. Sitting here patting my feet while sipping on Pepsi and eating popcorn while waiting on the next book to read

Horrible!
The storyline was unrealistic! The lead character Katera, was very loose and ghetto. Atreus was very angry. Very disappointed in this book. Not enough substance to the characters.

I wish Atreus would've told Keterra how he felt in the beginning, and Terrance wouldn't have even been a thought. I wonder how Atreus is gonna go up against his father in law to be with Keterra.... I don't care how but i can't wait to see the action go down. Terrance is crazy killed people over Keterra and he just meet her. Atreus have a lot of fires to take care of.

Ok where is part 2? I need that like ASAP? This book was crazy? He’s has to go painfully!! Terrance is a freaking psycho who knew ctfu!! Her and Atreus attraction is bananas. She got him all the way together quick. This book pulls you in from the very beginning. I couldn’t put it down. I should’ve waited until part 2 was out to read it 😩😩🤦🏽♀️. Spectacular

Ok ok this turned out to be good!
This book had a slow start then picked up really nice. I don't think Mag is innocent. All A has to do is move out of state then that mayor can't do too much. Terrance is wit the shit tho.

Wow, I need part 2 like NOW! May is pregnant by Correy! Terrance is a doggone nut, I didn't know how Katerra didn't see the signs of his psycho behind! Atreus is going to have his girl no matter what it takes, he suffered so much from his EVIL mother. Great read!

This story follows the rocky coupling of Atreus and Katerra. Atreus' backstory was heartbreaking and gave you a clear understanding of his development into adulthood. Individually, these two characters worked. As a couple, the chemistry was missing for me. I liked their interactions with the supporting characters, but when they came together it was forced. All in all, I think the story flowed well and had potential. The characters were developed and again worked individually, but not as a couple at least in Book 1. I'm hoping Book 2 will have these two will make sense. I like this author's work so I'm hopeful

I'm glad Kattera helped change Atreus' opinion of black women. But then, did she? Now he should be thinking they're just disloyal cheaters. Their relationship is just so wrong. I don't like her at all - she sleeps with Terrance to rile Atreus, then she's with a married man. Sorry, Atreus - you should have figured this out before you walked down the aisle. This storyline would have been so much better for me if there wasn't so much betrayal. Or if ANY of them had taken the time to know something about the other besides their name.
But that ending got me. I must admit I need to know what happens. And I hope there's mention of what happened to Atreus' mother

I really thought i would like this book based of the reviews and what people recommended but i didn't. I really wanted to like it. The story didn't flow well for me and it didn't hold my attention. The story line and the characters wasn't for me , however there were no grammatical errors so that was a plus. I will definently try reading other books from this author. I think this was my first read from her, but i will read a few more books.
