This book dives into the world of 19th and early 20th century colonialism and the effects it had on the people of the Indian subcontinent. It does a great job detailing the New Imperialism felt throughout Europe and Britain at the time that many of these photographs were taken. The book also goes over the many problems for the people of India and how the British colonizers affected their lives, from things like the Sepoy Mutiny to the Madras famine. That being said, the book displays many beautiful landscapes, and to history fans like me, I couldn't recommend it enough!
