Ramir and Valencia dated in college, but Ramir broke her heart. Years later, they both come home for Christmas, but Valencia has a secret and Ramir wants her back. Valencia wasnt happy to see Ramir, but Ramir was persistent and Valencia broke down and told him her secret. Ramir promised her he would be there for her and he was. This second chance story was an emotional read and it touched on a very hard subject, but I loved it. Ramir might have broke her heart before, but when she needed him the most he was there. Aubree books never disappoint and this one didnt either.
First let me say that this is a wonderful story. I'm not going to give anything away I highly recommend this book. The story is so good. I struggle whether to giving 3 or 5 stars I settled on 4. I feel that proofreading a book and editing before you put it out is very important. Having said that I believe that you are and extremely talented author and I look forward to reading more of your books.
This was my first book by this author and it was good. Valencia and Ramir had a second chance at love and they gave it their all. I will say this book had more than enough errors and that’s why it’s not 5 stars. The author definitely didn’t go back and check the errors but the story was still good
I loved this. It was a bit sad towards the end, but it came together really beautifully. Valencia was almost the one that got away for Ramir. He lost her once, but was not gonna let her slip through his fingers a second time. The family dynamic and banter was awesome. There were a few times I was a little annoyed with both Ramir and Valencia cause of their behaviors, but both were lovable. And the love scenes, they were not giving. Like we knew Ramir was putting it down, but we really didn’t know though, cause the author didn't really take us there. Overall, this was a really sweet holiday read with a nice hint of reality.
The plot was okay. Usually books that are just okay, I give 3 stars to. I had to take a star away because 1) there were sooo many spelling and grammatical errors that it was distracting and messed up the flow of reading for me. One chapter alone had 5 errors. 2) for this book to be a novella, it took me longer to read than normal because I wasn’t enjoying it honestly. I was just trying to get through it. It had cute moments but overall, it’s not something I would recommend to a friend.
This was a cute second chance romance. The first page will have you completely hooked and it gets better. I liked the main characters, Valencia and Ramir, and thought that they seemed to fit together. The main plot line was a lot to take in and might be triggering for some, but I thought it was handled well. Even Ramir with his Alpha tendencies didn’t make me crazy because it all seemed to come from a place of love. The reason the scoring isn’t higher os that there were a lot of grammar errors that made it a less then seamless read. I had to figure out what the author meant in a lot of sections and it took me out of the story. If those errors are corrected, my overall rating for the book would increase.
Valencia and her situation really tugged at my heart strings. The past is the past, but I wanted to punch Ramir in his throat for his college shenanigans and breaking her heart. Anyway, fast forward some years, and Valencia was working a very stressful job and for people very undeserving of her skills, talent, and dedication. Her mom was being a mom about marriage and kids, but as Valencia said, "you need a man for that," and things looked very dreary on that front. And if things weren't bad enough, her doctor dropped a bomb on her right before she was to visit her family for the Christmas holidays. Then Ramir shows up...with a lil help from her meddling big brother, Bryson. Hell, both Ramir's mom and Valencia's family were a bunch of meddling busybodies. In Valencia's own words: "These people were really starting to get on my damn nerves." 😂😂
I felt so bad for her. Then Ramir was determined to wear her down. He came out the gate too agressive...as if he had any right. I get that time has passed...you forgive, move on and what not, but his @$$ was too cocky from the jump. I'm not saying he had to jump through hoops, or anything like that, but dang! Ease up some, bruh!😂
Anyway, there was no shaking him because Valencia never got over him either. Her heart responded to him and there was nothing she could do about it. I do appreciate the way Ramir stepped up and proved that he had matured, that he was a different man now, and that he was not going to screw up his second chance with Valencia.
I love the way the author handled the cancer diagnosis, treatment, and remission. It still pierced my heart and brought out the tears, but it wasn't too heavy. It was also a beautiful thing watching the way everyone rallied around her. Overlooking a few grammatical errors, this was a good book.
Ramir made a mistake and fumbled Valencia’s heart back in college. A heart he worked so hard to get but did none of the work to keep it. He knew she was his and has regretted it ever since. But hey, what would he know about being a real man and all the responsibilities that came with it as well as meeting the lofty dreams she had for them.
Valencia was that girl - pretty but not stuckup, confident, loyal and loving. She was willing to do anything for Ramir. Young love leaves you blinded willingly and unwilling to the relationship with the person in front of you. She trusted him to always have her heart and her best interests at heart. The heartbreak was hard to bare.
Fast forward and life has not been all they imagined. Ramir made good money but outside of his moms it was loveless. Valencia wasn’t putting her degree to good use and settling for a paycheck. She didn’t want no parts of no man.
Then the holidays brings them both back and what has been denied no longer can be. When life takes a turn for the worse, who has your back and will give you a soft place to land when you fall? “Valencia, I got everything you need if you just relinquish yourself to me.” Just let go and let him rock you then.
Queen Aubree came through with this emotional love story... Valencia & Ramir didn't get love right the first time around cause he was a hoe, so she ended it and didn't look back. He married his side chick which he knew was a mistake and he lost her the way he got her. Fast forward, ironically they both are back home for Christmas for the first time in years. To come out the gate giving us that kind of news, smh. I felt so bad for V and she held strong playing hard to get until Ramir broke her down. He knew the love was still there and just like when they were young adults he knew how to make her his again. She tried hard at first but her heart and body wasn't on one accord with her mind, lol. I loved both their moms and her brother Bryson, they stayed with the shits, always seeing them up. They loved them and knew they still loved each other. Through all the trials, his love for her never wavered and he showed her everyday how much he loved and adored her. The love they shared was rare and I really enjoyed reading about it. Another great read by the beautiful Aubree Porn💞
3.5 stars! THE LAST CHRISTMAS is a second chance romance novella following Valencia who's heading home for the holidays feeling anxious after a worrying doctors visit only to keep running in to Ramir, the ex who broke her heart.
this was my first read from this author but it was a good one! I loved following Valencia and Ramir's journey and I loved how the author managed to pack so much into this novella without it feeling too much. I really believed in the history between these two and could see why they would come back to one another.
however, I did spend a lot of the story wishing Ramir would seem a little more apologetic. he definitely did come through in the end for Valenica but he never seemed that sorry for what he'd done in the past for me. also, there are some editing/grammar mistakes in this one - not a big issue but it did take me out of the story a couple of times.
overall a good read, just not quite perfect for me, but i will be reading more from Pynn in the future!
As always, this book was everything! Christmas is my favorite time so I was all for the Christmas baking, cooking, brunch, tree trimming, etc. I love that it portrayed family, bonding, tradition, and love. Valencia and Ramir were so cute. I’m glad Ramir realized what he once had in her and went after it and she finally let her guard down and let him in to be everything she needed. I was rooting for him, especially after he vowed to be there through it all, especially when things weren’t easy. That took strength. I enjoyed reading this, I felt like part of the family lol. I would have loved to go to Rasheeda and Tania house for Christmas lmao 🤣 great book. I love a good holiday themed story!
I loved this story. Hell, it had me feeling like I was watching Hallmark with a little bit of nasty but classy in the mix. Ramir needed his ass whooped even after all those years. Valencia. Bless her heart because I don't know how I would have responded to that news she received. Valencia's bother was trying all he could to get his sister out of her feelings by having Ramir come around when possible. I'm glad she did give herself a moment to actually have fun and enjoy herself. I'm very impressed that Ramir went after her until he wore her down and then when up above and beyond to care for her. I loved this story and it brightened up my day. You should be reading this story if you haven't already.
Man oh man was this a book to read. It turned out 2 be sad at first but as I went on I was happy to know that things worked out for everyone. Its sad to hear when someone has cancer. My dad has been battling wit it he won't the battle 3 years ago then it came back around March and now after treatment and surgery he is doing great. We pray that it stays away with the faith of God. Sorry for putting my life in there but I myself know what it feels to have someone close to you battle with it and just felt like speaking on it. Again yall should read this book you will love it.
Ramir was determined to make Valencia his "lady" again. He did everything from going with her to help with her mom's groceries to driving to Alabama to physically get her. Ramir was a great protector and provider. He stood by her through everything. He knew that the mistake he made during their college years was a horrendous one and not easily forgotten. He also knew she was his one, he even built the house she drew in his notebook.
The ending was great and the way I liked it with a baby coming and marriage proposal attention
This was a good story about faith and second chances. Ramir and Valencia were destined to be together but Ramir wasn’t ready the first time they were in a relationship. Both families knew how they felt about one another and they really wanted them together. I liked that it showed how they had a second chance at love and put their faith in God after hearing about her sickness. I recommend this book but it does have some issues with the editing.
This story was definitely a Christmas Miracle. When life throws you a few curveballs, faith and the love of family is what's most important and needed to get through. Although they had a rocky past, the love Valencia and Ramir had for each other over the years never wavered. Ramir stepped up and showed Valencia he was willing to make things right even through her darkest days. Loved their happy ending with a Christmas blessing.
What a beautiful story depicting perseverance, determination and faith regarding those who are meant for us. This novella had me from the beginning with the very strong Valencia, who represents so many women with an overflowing plate yet the strength to commence and Ramir, who wisely recognized mistakes of the past. I definitely recommend this read from a very talented author. Greedily anticipating the novel.
This novella should give us pause to take one day at a time. Ramir and Valencia were a couple in college and broke up as they were about to graduate. Each went to live very different lives with a low burning flame still burning for each other. A serious health scare causes them to confide in each other and recapture what had been missing in their years apart. Beautiful story of renewed love, healing and family.
The book bae Gods are working overtime. I mean Ramir had me a lil mad in the beginning but growth does a person good. This was a very relatable storyline in regards to the things the characters go through. Aubree does an awesome job in making her storylines flow and giving readers real life vibes. Great great holiday read that will have you feeling all emotions.
I thoroughly enjoyed the playlist and the story. I love Christmas time and this story was no different. “If you love something let it go...” well you know how it ends. I’m so glad Valencia and Ramir got it together. The quirky, close knit, and meddling family With holiday cheer around makes for a good Hallmark style Christmas story. Great job!
This story was beautifully overwhelming. You could feel the love from the pages. I wanted to slap fire from Ramir in the beginning, but bruh finally got it right. He showed and proved what unconditional love was. Great job as usual AP. This was definitely A Mistletoe Miracle!
Grab the tissues.. This is definitely not the cliche love story. Ramir had me hot in the beginning but the growth he had and the unconditional love he gave Valencia won me over . If I could give 10 stars I would because people need to see that everything won't always be perfect but it will work according to his plan !! Ready for whatever AP has in store next !!
My eyes were misty... I mean someone was cutting onions the last half of this boooook. Omggggg in my feelings is NOTTTTT an adequate way to describe my headspace right now at 130am. I will say this I'm glad I finished from 49% at home and not at work. Jesus this book got me finna cry myself to sleep. 😥😢
This book was amazing from beginning to end and I love the characters rahmir and Valencia.. what she went through she was a strong person to hold that in and rah was right there through it all even though she was acting funnny lol !! But I cried in this book like boo-hoo crying!! Read this book it’s so worth it and a Christmas miracle
Although short, I liked it!!! The woes of life come at you but when you have people in your corner it makes it a wee bit better to fight. Don’t like how Mir did her in the beginning but it was all to get to the ending that was predestined. Now you know you can’t leave us like that!!! We need a summer novella to follow up, I won’t be greedy!!!
I enjoyed reading this book so much! I couldn't put my kindle down! I enjoyed reading about Valencia and Rahmir journey to love! I enjoyed the storyline and the chemistry between them! Their chemistry was off the charts! Such a fantastic, outstanding, emotional, and amazing book!
My first read of Pynn's and she has all of the elements of a good story teller. The story of Ramir and Valencia was a fairy tale with a major twist. The writer dealt with some real life issues. Luckily for Valencia it was a win. Ramir, once he matured is the guy every girl wants. I just picked up another author.
Ramir broke Valencia’s heart their first go round. But he mended and more when he got a second shot. This was a cute story. Glad it wasn’t the I have a deadly illness, whoops no I don’t. It was more realistic.
I will say, I never heard of a Tiffany key chain. Rich people don’t have nothing to bother them, they love to waste money
I really enjoyed this Christmas novella. The storyline was excellent, but there were a few editing errors which caused me to not rate it as 5 stars. Ramir messed up their initial relationship, but he stood by Valencia when she needed him the most and proved his love for her.
