A veritable source of information for both the trainee lecturer and the senior lecturers.
At the moment I am reading for a DET with ITEC and this book is an excellent guide and source reference! The authors wrote this book with the learner in mind, very concise to the requirements of the DET, whilst is very useful for the learner to learn how to apply the expected set of standards in his/her own teaching practice.
Each chapter starts with a web diagram about the unit topic, then divided as following; professional links, key definitions, intriduction, starting point, critical task, further info with examples, case study, critical questions which answers are found at the end of the book, comments, summary, check your understanding questions, end of chapter reflections, taking it further with references to explore and references to the info used. At the back of the book one finds templates for teaching and learning plan, individual learning plan, scheme of work template and CPD reflective template. Lastly a guide to chapter links to the professional standards.
