Unlike some other reproductions of classic texts (1) We have not used OCR(Optical Character Recognition), as this leads to bad quality books with introduced typos. (2) In books where there are images such as portraits, maps, sketches etc We have endeavoured to keep the quality of these images, so they represent accurately the original artefact. Although occasionally there may be certain imperfections with these old texts, we feel they deserve to be made available for future generations to enjoy.

A thorough-going review of pre-reformation monasticism in England
There will perhaps be a little too much detail in this survey for many readers, as it does cover the life of the English monastery in all its complexity. This is in no way a critical review of its subject; the piety of everyone involved is never questioned. But, this was not its author's purpose. Well worth the small investment and recommended to anyone with an interest in the Christian religious of the late middle ages.
