A World Called Memory -A Fantasy LitRPG Novel- By the year is 2049 there have been a number of significant advances in medicine, technology, trade, and social reform. The modern world has improved in many ways, but Cordaen just doesn’t really fit within its constraints. Getting his hands on some illicit technology, he decides to finally take the plunge; full consciousness transfer to another world, another life, and a fresh beginning. Cordaen has to fight for every inch of success, but he finds his new life gratifying and surprising in ways that the old one never was. Who said violence and bloodshed were never good? Under the right circumstances, it seems to be what’s actually helping him to evolve and grow, and maybe even be a better person. The intense pressure of facing death, perversely, is keeping him alive in more ways than one. He just has to watch out for others more violent and less scrupulous than he is. Follow Cordaen’s travels as he attempts to master his new avatar and gain real understanding of A World Called Memory. Memory will remind you of what you already know, it will tease you with the familiar; with archetypes, mythology, and fable. But it also has a fresh perspective that is unique and alive. A Fantasy LitRPG series of great depth and colour, with a huge multi-layered game world; including a massive RPG website and an evolving database of items, lore and game statistics. AWCM has a unique combination of classes, races, class abilities, monsters, gods, hundreds of illustrated magic items, in-depth world history and lore, and vividly detailed full-colour maps. www.aworldcalledmemory.com
Started out pretty good but went off the rails part way through. Good concept, character felt like a solid start, really invested in his new world. Until writer added in other players, story bounced around too much and character fell apart. Story got overly complex with overly simple people. Balance completely destroyed, character balance, story balance, everything. Poor execution ruined a good idea.
In some ways, this is your standard "new hero must save the world" series, done as a litrpg. It was well-written though, with good flow throughout. I was invested enough in the story to add it to my spreadsheet of doom (being the now 87th series in progress for me), something I haven't done in a while.
This has everything I love. A good but not perfect MC looking for better and to be better. A real constant world with meaningful stakes but slow build. And excellent slice of life gaming.
Very well written and organized book with lots of page-turning action and adventure definitely one of my favorite litrpg books of 2020 a definite must-read for any litrpg fan
Very enjoyable slice of life story. Well written and well edited. Definitely recommend giving it a read. There are also some pictures and maps that are fun.
Interesting setup and begining but the story is badly written. Plus there are many much better novels in this genre so don't waste your time with this one.
I thought the book was well written, edited and the story was really well thought out. It dragged a little, but was not enough to keep me from wanting to read it.
Interesting variation on the "trapped in a game" trope. Nothing truly original (nothing new under the sun after all) but well done overall. I found myself really wanting the MC to settle the hash of [redacted: spoiler] so I look forward to a sequel where that happens (hint, hint author).
The plot flowed nicely and there were no typos or grammatical errors that I could see... Obviously properly edited. Great story and detailed artwork throughout. Will be interesting to see more character development in book 2. Excellent job for first time author.
