First: yes, I do read cookbooks. Repeatedly. I know I'm not the only one. I also have lists about the recipes I want to try out and I keep on reading cookbooks until I've tried all the recipes that I like.
Cookbooks are also the only books that I make notes in, because what's the point of cooking something new everyday if you don't write down if you've liked it or not, and what variations you tried, and if next time you should maybe go easier on the salt.
That said, this is a Muffin book. And while I love to cook, baking kinda scares me. Everything looks so inedible when it goes in, and while you wait for the oven to do its magic there is nothing you can do to help.
Muffins, on the other hand, are fairly easy. Throw everything together, put into muffin tin and - magic! - out come the muffins. And since it's so easy, this book gives you some inspiration of the things you can throw together to make magic muffins. I tried for example the double-chocolate-marshmallows ones, and the peanutbutter-vanilla-toffee muffins, and you just know these have got to be excellent, because they have three-word names! How magical is that?
