About the author

Born in St. Louis, Missouri, Anya grew up listening to Cardinals baseball and reading anything she could get her hands on. She remembers her mother saying if only she would read the right type of books instead binging her way through the romance aisles at the bookstore, she’d have been a doctor. While Anya never did get that doctorate, she graduated cum laude from the University of Missouri-St. Louis with a M.A. in History.

I was gifted, via B00|{$P®0UT, an ARC of Anya Summers' "The Cuffs & Spurs Collection." As usual, this is an emotional Series, & Anya's a talented author with a great ability to write passionate stories that delve into sensitive subjects. Therefore, I gladly recommend this Collection, & Her other works as well, based upon their own merits. Anya's books definitely provide wonderful Reading Rabbit holes full of spectacular reading!! Anya's books are definitely books you'll read, Reread, & READ again several times & not tire of... I know I have. All opinions expressed within this review are uniquely my own & freely given.

I read the boxed set in two days not sure if that’s a good thing because you notice a lot of the same words that the author likes to use “sawed his/her tongue off” was one that made repeated appearances and at times you had a sense of Déjà vu with some of the story telling.

His Unexpected Love - While it says it’s book 2 it is actually the prequel to His Scandalous Love and as such you should read this book before His Scandalous Love. We meet Jenna and Carter on Pleasure Island, where their first encounter leaves Carter all wet and not in a good way after Jenna pushes him into the water. The chemistry between these two is off the charts. While Jenna is a sub she does not suffer fools lightly and will go toe to toe if you piss her off. This book is pretty much non-stop high-octane toe curling sexy time. We do get some backstory on both characters in between all of the orgasms. Reader alert this story does end on a bit of a cliffhanger and the story does pick up in His Scandalous Love. For me this story was a 5 star despite the dreaded cliffhanger.

His Scandalous Love – is really book 2 if you count the prequel as book 1. We reunite with Jenna and Carter and more secrets are discovered. Once these two do reconnect we are unfortunately taking the angst fest train on this read. While I do understand Jenna’s fears she does go a bit overboard for me and it drags on through the entire book. Carter while a Dom was so damn flexible and willing to do anything to make her happy that it made me want to smack some sense into her or at least flog her to get her out of her own head. When they finally got their HEA I was a bit worn out. For me this was a 3 star story.

His Wicked Love – Emily and Mason’s first meeting was pretty much gas meet matches. It was unbidden lust at first sight that they both did their best to squelch. Emily because she wanted to prove to herself and everyone else she was not a failure and sleeping with the boss in her opinion wouldn’t help her with that equation. Mason wanted to keep his distance from Emily to forego traveling down the same path of messing with the chef, which lead to his dire financial current situation. Emily held her own against Mason and gave as good as she got. Mason on the other hand drove me insane with his hot and cold. He was worse than a hormonal woman deciding if he should eat the ice cream or not. He did finally pull his head and got over himself so that they could have their HEA. For me 3 stars.

His Untamed Love – Mia is a celebrity writer with a serious case of writers block coupled with major anxiety. She thought coming out to the middle of nowhere and leaving her safe bubble might break the block. She almost runs Cole over on their first meeting. Cole thought city slicker with no common sense, she thought surly sexy cowboy. Fate had a hand in throwing these two together a lot more than either initially wanted. Like his brother Mason, Cole did blow hot and cold for a little while but he eventually came around and got it together. It was great seeing Mia grow out of her shell and get a spine and go after what she wanted. These two were alternately sweet, steamy and a bit hard headed but they had a great balance. For me this was a 5 star read.

His Tempting Love – Cora moved to town to be closer to family and is trying to make a go of life with her young son. She had just started working at the club when she ran into Garrett. Deciding that all work and only being a mommy is sucking all of the fun out of her she accepts Garrett’s offer of a hot and steamy night. Garrett surprises himself with how easy it was for him to start caring about Cora and her son. For a big bad Dom he fell faster than a pushed domino. Of course in typical Dom he has a secret that he keeps from Cora, which almost derails what they have started. An ex from his past comes back and is starting to make trouble. Garrett finds himself in the dubious position of breaking a promise he demanded of Cora that they be totally honest with each. For me this was closer to a 3.5 star.

His Seductive Love – Layla is the town’s new replacement vet who has taken over her grandfathers business after his passing. Due to her diminutive stature and the fact that she is a woman and people don’t like change she has had to work extra hard to prove herself. Alex has his hands full caring for his aging ailing father and keeping his business running, plus he has a giant chip on his shoulder from his mother leaving them when he was younger. These two strike sparks of each other upon first meeting and they start a major fire. Layla is also dealing with old guilt that is causing her both physical and mental pain. She has to let it all go to be all in with Alex. Alex has to work to put aside keeping women at arms length and take the same advise he’s giving Layla and let go of the past and work for that HEA. For me this story was 4 stars.

His Secret Love – Meghan and Spencer have been butting heads since her sister ended back up with Carter. Snide comments and veiled taunts was how they communicated for years. Mother nature decided to give these two a hand to get past their walls and get to know each other. Meghan knows exactly what Spencer is but she feels that she’s not enough of a submissive to please him. Spencer feels that he has seen too much bad and done too much to ever be the right man for Meghan. Once these two finally let their walls down it’s full on steam. However these two are so used to butting heads that they are afraid to admit to the other how they really feel and it almost costs them their HEA. For me this was a 5 star read.

Since this series deals with the BDSM lifestyle there is copious amounts of spanking or power exchange…thankfully there are other aspects of the lifestyle that are shown and explained so it’s not just a spank fest. The men are alpha male Dom, but in reality they are all big softies and go to pieces when their strong women stand up to them. The ladies for the most part are just as much alpha as their Dom’s but are able to bend a bit more to protect their men’s egos. The stories are high steamy sex in between finding out about the couples. It’s nice that they all make cameo appearances in each of the stories so you get updates on each couple as you read all of the books in the series.

If you like your reads hot and steamy you can't go wrong with this entertaining collection. You get eight full length books that feature hot, dominate males and the feisty females that are strong enough to submit. These stories are packed with emotions, drama and kink. An excellent choice if you are a reader that enjoys spicy reads. This is my freely posted, frank review.

The story is the prequel and set up for this new series, Cuffs, and Spurs, a BDSM club in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, owned by Carter Jones. By insistence of his club members, he will be a guest for a week at Paradise Island, owned and operated by Jared McTavish. The two clubs are hoping to offer reciprocal agreements for their guests.
The plot will have Carter arriving on the island and getting dunked by a sub, Jenna, with an attitude. He is furious, and Jared assures him that isn’t her normal behavior, and she will be punished publicly. But that won’t be all of her punishment because Carter insists she will be his sub for the week. Sometimes opportunities come your way when you were least expecting them, and Jenna will be Carter’s unexpected surprise.
What neither Carter nor Jenna expects is the off the wall chemistry between them. When these two are together the sizzle with passion, she becomes the yin to his yang. Knowing that their week is coming to an end brings unexpected heartache for both of them. Carter has never felt this way about a woman or sub before, and he wants her to come with him to Wyoming. Jenna is caught between a rock and a hard place of responsibilities, excessive bills, and obligations, and must work.

The story picks up from the prequel, His Unexpected Love, where Carter Jones and Jenna Mallory had met at Pleasure Island. They spent a week together but parted ways when the island was evacuated due to a hurricane. Carter will ask her to go with him, and she will turn him down. Carter returns to Wyoming and pours himself into his ranch, but he can’t forget Jenna, but when he contacts Jared, he will learn she has left her employment on the island, and even a phone number is a dead end.
As one of the owners of Cuffs and Spurs, his friends are worried about him and try and intervention, insisting he come to the club, which he agrees. What he never expected to see was Jenna in Jackson Hole, and following her will discover more secrets.
Carter and Jenna must come to terms with their past, their relationship, and a secret that will forever bind them together. But will that be enough for them to move forward? Jenna has trust issues and holds herself back, and Carter wants her total trust and submission.
Two people who crave each other, have a chemistry that sizzles and rocks each other’s world, hold back the most important parts of themselves, their hearts. Both are in love with each other but keep that a secret, and that nearly destroys them.

Her mother is insistent that she come to work with her in real estate, but all Emily wants to do is create food dishes and make people happy.
Mason Stewart blames himself for the mess they are in with Black Elkhorn Lodge, the restaurant is closed, and their creditors need to be paid. Getting involved with Claire and not keeping an eye on what all she was doing falls on him, not his brother, Cole. Bringing in another chef will help them keep reservations because they are losing too many and not having it opened to their guests. But he needs to keep this a business relationship and not let it get personal.
The plot will have Emily showing up to start her job, and while Cole is kind, Mason is angry. He wants to throw in all kinds of new stipulations on her employment. But she isn’t one who just backs down, and she can give it back to him as fast as he dishes it out to her. There are so many tête-à-têtes between them, and yet deep down, there is an underlying attraction. But Mason can’t afford to mess this up; he owes it to Cole and himself to put business first.
With Emily in charge of the kitchen, with her creative dishes, the guest is happy, the staff is happy, and the receipts are proving she is making a difference, and that keeps the brothers happy. Emily is allowed to do what she loves, create enticing dishes and please the palate of the guest. But what happens when she and Mason come to a head. They have danced around a sexual attraction that just sizzles below the surface. When they finally succumb to their passion, it is explosive. But not everyone will be happy with this relationship; it can only spell disaster for the business.

The plot will have Mia arriving in Jackson Hole, Montana, for a month to work on her book. She is hoping a change in scenery, and painful memories will allow her to complete her manuscript. The one thing she wasn’t counting on was meeting a brooding cowboy that made her feel alive. Mia will step outside of her comfort zone and book several excursions that will bring her and Cole together. When she shows an interest in Cole, he will tell her he doesn’t do vanilla that he is a Dominant and only is involved with submissives in the lifestyle.
During a hike, the weather changes quicker than predicted, and they must get to his cabin and out of the white-out snowstorm. It will become a turning point for both of them, one where they decide to stop fighting the attraction and go with it. He will discover that Mia accepts his dominance and guidance like a duck to water.

Garrett left his family’s fortune in the hotel business, where he was being groomed to take over and has instead branched out on his own with a resort that stays booked year-round. His relationship with his family was damaged when he was finished with college over a woman, Gail, that he was involved with since he was eighteen. She was twenty years older than him and his mother’s friend. The relationship ended and caused a rift in his family.
The plot will have Cora and Garrett meeting at Cuffs and Spurs as she is working. There is an instant connection between them but something she tries to avoid. Garrett is persistent and even talks her into scening with him in a private room when her shift is over. What a shock when she just leaves him behind and flees the club. But if that isn’t bad enough, guess who shows up at his resort and wants to speak to him—Gail, and it isn’t a friendly visit.
The relationship between Cora and Garrett is rocky at first but seems to smooth out. He is shocked when he learns she is a mother but sticks with her when her child isn’t well. Not everyone is going to be happy about them getting together and makes it known. Is Garrett looking for a good time, or is he developing feelings for Cora, and her son, Milo?

His Unexpected Love
I wasn’t quite sure what I was getting myself into when I started this book. Carter and Jenna’s first meeting was absolutely explosive, and it left me a little concerned about their dynamic. Jenna’s so fiercely independent and Carter has several alpha-hole tendencies, I was a little concerned that this relationship was going to go up in flames. And I’m using the term ‘relationship’ pretty loosely here. We don’t get to see a lot of development in that area, but we do get to see lots of expressions of lust. I was expecting something with a bit more story and a lot less cliff-hanger-y. I suppose it would have been different if I had read this book second, the way the series is structured.
His Scandalous Love
I’m curious just how much different my reaction to this story would be if I’d read it first, in publishing order, rather than reading the prologue before it. Having read the “second” book first, I got hung up on a couple of continuity errors that left me grinding my teeth in frustration for the first half of the book. Carter still has several alpha-hole tendencies, but he’s almost too perfect to be believed. Jenna broke my heart and drove me mental in almost equal measures. Her past has left her with some serious trust issues that make navigating a relationship with Carter exceptionally difficult. My personal feeling is that the problem dragged on for far too much of this book’s length. There are beautiful sweet moments between the pair, and some ultra-spicy ones too, but I felt the plot got a little bogged down with the minutia of their everyday lives. I could have happily done with a lot fewer descriptions of baby care. I really enjoyed meeting the men I presume will be the heroes in future books of the series and I look forward to reading more about them.

This pair left me dizzy with their push me/pull you dynamic. Mason couldn’t see to make up his mind whether he trusted Emily or if he was going to continue to blame her for his ex’s mistakes. Emily seemed to only have two settings: in-your-face b!tch or running scared with no discussion about what happened. I appreciate that they’re both strong characters. I wish they had been consistently strong instead of yo-yoing back and forth so often, though. I could see what drove most of Mason’s actions. I didn’t understand what made Emily so confrontational, and that in-your-face attitude turned me off of her. I would love to see the subs in this series stop blaming their bratty behavior on their poor nutritional choices. I realize that “hangry” is a legitimate emotional state, but it’s still no excuse for behaving like a rude jerk. Unfortunately, it’s not just the poor nutritional choices where Emily’s bratting stops. That was about all I ever felt like I saw of her: an obnoxious, mouthy, sarcastic brat. Nothing like the professional chef and businesswoman we’re supposed to believe she is. I love that these two finally get over themselves, but I thought the resolution happened too easily. I also wasn’t a fan of Mason taking the blame for everything that wasn’t working between them. It took two to tango, so it should have taken both of them to make it right again.

As you may have guessed from my reviews of the previous books in this series, I don’t like brats. So, Mia was an absolute breath of fresh air for me. Her anxiety and do-it-anyway spirit really called to the introvert in me. I think we get to know who she is “right now” quite well. I would have loved to be able to read more about what made her into this woman, though. That felt like a big plot hole to me. Gone is the lighter-hearted Cole we met in the previous book. This man is a dark, brooding jerk. He has moments of sweetness but almost no vulnerability. He creates just as much whiplash as Mason did before him, and it’s just as frustrating as ever. There are reasons given for why Cole behaves this way, but I wasn’t able to wrap my brain around why they turned him into this particular brand of alpha-hole. I loved that he finally got out of his own way, I just would have like to see this as a gradual change instead of like a light switch being flipped at the eleventh hour. One the whole, this is my favorite in the series so far.

I really liked that Garrett’s is a ‘quieter’ form of dominance – he isn’t quite the full alpha-hole. I also really liked seeing him work for it and prove that he would be a worthy relationship partner for the single mother. I liked that while there were some of Cora’s behaviors that could be considered ‘bratty’, they stem from her mamma bear attitude and not just her trying to be difficult. In fact, I pretty much loved everything about this book until we got to the inevitable misunderstanding. That was where I started screaming “you are an idiot!” at Cora as she jumped to all the wrong conclusions. I get that Cora has her own issues to deal with, but that still didn’t stop me from yelling “you are such an idiot!” at my reader for several chapters. Because, I couldn’t understand how she made the 180 degree turn from ‘people she trusted with her life’ to believing that they would betray her in that manner. It didn’t make sense. Once again, while I loved the chemistry between our main couple, there are big holes in their backstories that I desperately wanted to know more about and that I think would have made the plot even more compelling if they’d been filled in.

This story was an emotional roller-coaster. Both Alex and Layla are packing around so much baggage, I’m almost amazed they were able to get past it all to connect with one another. This time around, it was definitely our hero I was calling an idiot. I’m not a fan of Alex thinking he could Dom his way through Layla’s emotional trauma and that her ability (or inability) to conquer her fears was related to how much she trusted him. This particular plot bunny ticked me off a little. Thankfully, I loved everything else about these two together so much that I was still cheering for their happily ever after in spite of this particularly ill-advised adventure. Their reconciliation may have happened a bit too quickly for my tastes, but I wanted to see it happen so badly.

We’ve been watching the sparks fly between this pair for nearly as long as the series has been going. I was so completely looking forward to seeing how this would play out. I seem to have a slightly different opinion from a lot of the other reviews I’ve seen for this book, though. I “got” Spencer. The emotionally scarred military alpha is familiar to me. I knew where he was coming from. And I understood what sent him over the edge in the end. Spencer just made sense to me. Meghan’s the one that confused the heck out of me. This brilliant scientific mind is absolutely paranoid that these non-scientific fears are going to come to pass? I had too much trouble wrapping my head around it. The two of them are incendiary together. There is so much passion between them that it radiates from the book’s pages. I particularly loved that the ending shows both of them realizing that they made mistakes. And the epilogue is really quite sweet.

This is the book I’ve been waiting the whole series for. Not just that it’s Jack’s story, but that for the most part our hero and heroine are fairly equal. Rayna’s fiercely independent and running from a past she probably shouldn’t have survived. Jack’s the ultimate alpha protector and he’s in awe of the warrior woman he’s been assigned to watch over. This pair is almost as explosive as Spencer and Meghan but for different reasons. Jack and Rayna’s story takes us on a non-stop roller coaster ride of action and intrigue from the very first page. I was immediately hooked and stayed up past my bedtime just to find out how it would end. There were a few Lifestyle things that didn’t exactly ring true for their dynamic that left me scratching my head. And after eight books back-to-back, there are some of the author’s favorite phrases that I’m no longer a fan of. But when all was said and done, this was my very favorite book in the series.

Cole has sworn off relationship since his first love died but he finds himself reacting to Mia whenever they meet. Can the city girl and the country boy find harmony together.

I originally read and reviewed these stories below. Having them in one set makes it easier to binge read the series. If you like Alpha cowboys and a little kink, this series is for you.

The beginning...
While I was reading "His Scandalous Love"(which was released first), I had questions about Carter and Jenna. Remarks about their original meeting was made and I felt like I was missing something. This story is that "missing" part- the prequel that I needed to understand Carter and Jenna a little better.

Learning to trust...
Loved this story! With this being the first in a series, there was a lot of "world building" and introduction to characters. Ms. Summers managed to weave it all together perfectly without disrupting the actual story. I loved how the "big Alpha Dom" Carter was brought to his knees by Liam. Jenna was someone I could relate to. It was understandable that she had a hard time trusting things would be alright after the life she had lived so far. I am so looking forward to seeing what is in store for the rest of these cowboy Doms...especially Spencer and Meghan.

"His Wicked Love":
Hot in the kitchen...
What's the old saying..."If you can't take the heat, stay out of the kitchen"? Well the heat between Mason and Emily is hotter than any kitchen. These two skirt around their attraction until it finally ignites. Will they both get burned or have they found the recipe for true love?

"His Untamed Love":
May be the best....
This is book four in the "Cuff & Spurs" series and may be the best in my opinion. While I have loved all the books in the series, there was something about this one that pulled me in. Maybe it was how I could relate to Mia. Anxiety, stress and writer's block is pushing her to a nervous breakdown. Needing a break, she heads to Jackson Hole to relax and regroup. What she finds is Cole. Cole believes he has had and lost his "one true love" so he keeps women at arms length. Sure he plays with the subs but he never gets close. That will all change when he meets Mia. Their relationship will change them both. Will Cole be willing to let the past go and embrace a future with Mia?

"His Tempting Love":
Don't lie to me...
I have to admit that the "Cuffs and Spurs" series is probably my most favorite by this author. This story is another wonderful addition to the series. Cora is a single mother trying to do it all. She has returned to Jackson Hole with her son Milo at the encouragement of her cousin Spencer. Cora's first meeting with Garrett awakes feelings she thought was long dead. As the two try to work their way towards a relationship, Cora asks only one thing of Garrett- "don't lie to me". When a figure from Garrett's past comes calling, that promise may cost Cora not only Garrett but her cousin too. I suggest you read this story to find out what happens. I can't wait to see which character's story is told next.....

"His Seductive Love":
Teddy-bear Dom...
"Cuffs and Spurs" is my favorite series by this author and this may be my favorite story in the series. Alex is definitely my most favorite Dom. Dealing with his dad's medical issue has left Alex feeling like he's no "in control". When he switches his need to be "in control" to Layla, Alex may lose everything. I loved Layla. She was the perfect sub for Alex. While she had her own issues/fears to overcome, she was willing to try for Alex. Will Alex overstep and lose Layla? Like I said, this may be the best story in the series and Alex, the teddy-bear Dom, is wonderful.

"His Secret Love":
Little Brat...
The wait is finally over! Ever since these two first "butted heads" in Carter's kitchen, you knew their story would be explosive. Anytime Spencer and Meghan are together they bicker and throw insults at the other. In other words- foreplay. When Spencer is trapped with his "Little Brat", they create enough heat that the snow should have melted instantly! Both have issues that stem from their past that could destroy any chance of a HEA. All I will say is there is a lot of fireworks before then. I can't wait for the next trip to Jackson Hole.

"His Cherished Love":
The last to fall....
If you have read this series, then you are familiar with both characters. Jack is the last of the "original" crowd to still be single. This is a fact that has had him doing a lot of thinking especially while on medical leave from the police department. Rayna's first appearance raised several flags. As a reader, you knew she was hiding something. Well, that something is revealed in this story and it could get someone killed. It definitely will bring danger to Jackson Hole. I loved this one! I especially loved the fact that despite being a Dom and used to protecting his sub Jack firmly believed that Rayna should have been told what was going on.

Their interaction moves up a few notches. Carter taking his Dom seriously questions the sassiness of sub, Jenna. Readers are treated to a fun romp that ends in questions.

His Scandalous Love: Carter Jones owner of Cuffs & Spurs keeps to himself ever since Jenna left a year ago. He had an amazing week with her on vacation, then she disappeared! He sees a woman that looks like her and follows her realizing it is Jenna and she has a surprise! How does he handle the surprise? Can they renew their relationship?

His Wicked Love: Mason, co-owner of the Black Elkhorn Lodge and Resort is at his wit's end trying to find a solution to his chef embezzling all the resort savings. He took his eye off the prize while he was dipping inot the chef's pot. He panic hires a chef unseen and is flumoxed when Emily shows up sexy, independent and looking for "her" kitchen. He's instantly smitten, but understands she's his employee, and needs not to repeat his disasterous mistake. She is not a doormat and pushes all his buttons. Emily's last post, makes her cautious, wary and proprietarial. She wants to carefully guard her reputation. Watching the cautious dance puts the reader on seat's edge. Great characters! Author keeps you engaged with the storyline and the conversation. Nicely done!

His Untamed Love: Mia Evans suffers from abandonment and anxiety issues on a good day. She is also experiencing severe writers' block. She is headed to Black Elkhorn Lodge and Resort hoping to climb out of her rut. Cole, thinking he will be a bachelor forever suffering from doomed love encounters Mia on the road and feels revitalized. He is immediately attracted. Cole responds to a few maintenance requests since he's part owner of the lodge. As their relationship grows, Cole introduces Mia to his lifestyle. Will she like it? Can she like Wyoming? Can she write there? Is Cole her perfect hero? Can the C & S scene help manage her panic attacks? Sweet story.

His Tempting Love: Cora has single mom obligations and indulges in one night just for herself. She meets Garrett and is pleasured beyond belief! They seem like a perfectly complimentary couple. Then the usual wrench, the miscommunication and misinterpretation that makes romance novels fun. Can Cora get on the right page? Will Garrett continue to be a star and do the right thing being a good man, Dom? Can Cora find her peace?

His Seductive Love: Layla inherited her grandfather's veterinary practice. She enjoys subbing at Cuffs & Spurs but no one really tickels her fancy. On an emergency call to Hunt Trail Rides, she meets the owner who kisses her within 5 minutes of meeting. Alex keeps his emotions locked in. The submissives at the C & S club, serve a purpose but never touch his heart. Until he meets sassy Dr Layla and feels compelled to get a taste. Can they put their mutual baggage down long enough to trust each other? Their intricate dance is nice to read.

His Secret Love: Spencer owns Cuffs & Spurs is content. Meghan lives life on her own terms and enjoys herself. She is out collecting samples and not watching the weather getting caught in a snow storm. She slides into a ditch and waits. Spencer asked to go rescue her. He has a little attitude but does the deed and takes her home with him to wait out the storm. During this time, their latent crushes on each other gets a breath of fresh air. They get to know the person and not just the myth. Spencer introduces Meghan to the D/s lifestyle. Will Meghan accept? Can Spencer let his gentle side out? Nice story. The author digs deep into their static emotions and gives them a little kick start. Good story, one of the better ones.

His Cherished Love: Jack Stone, Detective in Jackson Hole PD, a straight shooter in his private live, believes in L&O. In his private life he's a member of Cuff's & Spurs. Rayna had a complex past that makes her think she will never find love. They both feel they are beyond finding romance or 'the one'. Jack is assigned to protect Rayna, who is in WitSec after turning evidence on her mob boss dad and the family. Proximity being what it is, they got to know each other 'very' well. Jack worries about crossing his line. This story stirs all the emotions and doesn't leave the reader hanging. Can Jack keep Rayna safe? Does she get to testify? Can she like subbing? This is a collection of the first eight books in the Cuffs and Spurs series. Anya Summers is a favorite author and she doesn’t disappoint in this collection. Books 1 & 2 tell the story of Carter and Jenna (Book 2, the Beginning is one of my favorite in the series). In Book 2, His Unexpected Love, (The Beginning - but first in this collection), Carter comes off as arrogant and extremely alpha and Jenna is definitely bratty and having a bad day when the two of them meet for the first time. In Book 1, His Scandalous Love, Carter is much more tender and open and Jenna is hurt and just plain tired of trying to hold it together for her family. Great secondary characters who we meet in later books! In Book 3, His Wicked Love, we are introduced to Mason and Emily. Mason had been greatly burned by the last chef hired for his Lodge/Resort and he was prickly (running from his attracting to Emily). Of course the kitchen scene had me gasping - now, that’s definitely a way to get a Dominant’s attention! In His Untamed Love, Book 4, Mason’s brother, Cole, is faced with his growing attraction to Mia Evans, a very successful author. Cole keeps his heart sealed off after losing the the one woman he loved. Will these two find their way to each other? Will Cole introduce Mia to Cuffs and Spurs? In Book 5, His Tempting Love, Garrett Brooks meets Cora at Cuffs and Spurs. Cora agrees to one night with Garrett at C&S. Garrett wants more than one night and pursues Cora - showing her in his actions that he is stable and dedicated to not just her but to her son, Milo, as well. Garrett is falling fast but a woman from his past shows up. The same woman who caused a rift between him and his family. Garrett does what he thinks is best in protecting Cora and Milo. In Book 6, His Seductive Love, it’s Alex’s turn to find love. And, oh how the mighty fall. Alex is a complex man dealing with abandonment issues, mistrust and the inability to let his father, who’s slowly dying from dementia and other health issues. Layla is busy trying to honor the grandfather she loved and admired, but taking over his practice. This is an emotional journey for both Alex and Layla. In Book 7, Meghan (Jenna’s sister) and Spencer finally get their story. From the moment they met in Book 1 (approximately 2 year gap between Book 1 & 7), Meghan and Spencer having been fighting their attraction to one another and it comes across as rude, obnoxious and sarcastic and maybe even bratty. Spencer is the managing partner of C&S (throughout the series, we’re given glimpses of Spencer’s goodness) and Meghan is very much not part of the lifestyle club. Spencer rescues Meghan during a blizzard and the heat between them explodes. Meghan is very independent and Spencer is very dominant! There’s push and pull between the couple as they discover what they want out of life and love. In Book 8, His Cherished Love, Rayna (friend to Cora and waitress at C&S) is not who she appears to be. Jack is pulled into Rayna’s life when the FBI rolls into town and seeks help from the locals. Jack become Rayna’s friend, while undercover, and so much more. The dynamics between these two will grab your heart. Rayna’s past and Jack’s future are wrapped up in the outcome of his undercover work. All of the characters in this series are fleshed out. You will feel like you are a part of their lives. This series is about much more than people meeting and falling in love. It’s about a community. A group of friends that become family. It’s about learning to let people in even when you’ve been hurt. And, it’s also about hope. Hope when your husband dies. Hope when you’re living a lie. Hope when you’re facing medical emergencies. Hope for when you’ve been less than honest. Hope for when you don’t see a way out or feel you don’t deserve to love and be loved. While there are BDSM elements to all of these books (and the 9th book, too - which I also own), it’s not the primary focus. These books develop the relationship between each love interest and their group of friends! Get the series! You’ll fall in love with the men and women of Cuffs and Spurs!

Some good, and some not.

To be honest I didn't read all the books in this set. Books 1+2 are a Duet! Yeah, same characters, different personalities in each book, and I HATE DUETS! Every book should have a beginning, middle, and an end- NO CLIFFHANGERS! Hate same character sagas too! That's right, Jenna was a strong, decisive, if a little crazy- woman in book 1, but became wishy-washy and indecisive in book 2, with lots of questions. Why did she shut her phone off and disappear at the beginning? Lots of questions, with 'if-y' explanations. Not good, but doable with the fairy tale, rich cowboy 'prince' ending. Then having met her, "take no prisoners" sister, Meghan and intense, ex-military, dom- Spencer, striking sparks off each other- I expected that would be book 2. Nope. The Elkhorn Lodge co-owner, Mason and his new chef, Emily were next. Mason ran so hot and cold that I wanted to scream, and the author even had Emily call him on it, more than once. He was more like a young adult having a temper tantrum, than a sexy, older, strong, dom. Maybe 2 stars, if that. By this time I'd had enough- we hadn't got enough experience with the other guys to make me want to read about them, much less care about, or even remember them, so I found Spencer and Emily's book- 'His Secret Love' to read next. By far the best book in this set- 5 stars. Fun and interesting. That lead me to read the last, WITSEC victim- Rayna, and cop, Jack's book- 'His Cherished Love'. Nice and suspenseful. None of the usual miscommunication trope that are in security-suspense books. Jack's hands were tied throughout, but she forgave him; no 'dragging out' nonsense. Again, 4.5 stars.

By the end of these four books, I still wasn't interested in reading the other's books. Sorry, not even a spark of interest. Didn't feel I missed a thing. The one thing I got a kick out of through these four books is that ALL the guy friends were supposedly doms (really? Not one vanilla guy?), the women- with the exception of Jenna- had no interest in submission before meeting their guys and were only submissive with the guys in the bedroom, AND supposedly all the women were into anal; huh?! And had to be taken that way at their club publicly- like the guys were going through some kind of college frat ritual that declared they were really staking a claim as a permanent couple. REALLY, guys? You couldn't just tell the others "this woman is it for me"? Not very 'dom-like' in my opinion. Their club didn't sound very nice either- kind of small, cheap, and shallow, if you ask me. The door to the place is through the dry goods hall of the upstairs restaurant. Really? I couldn't see how they even got a liquor license, much less any license, to run this 'secret place'. And how did anyone show up in fetish gear with no separate entrance? Did they bring travel bags and change inside? The temps outside were really too hot to where coats in the summer, and too icy for spike heals in the winter. And then there's the whole Carter starting the whole place, but Spencer seemed to be the owner and boss later. What was that about? Too weird. Sorry. I won't be reading the rest of this series. Not sorry.

Jenna has spent her entire life taking care of her father and sister after her mother committed suicide. She believes that everything will eventually be taken away from her since that's what her past has taught her. So when she meets Carter at a BMSD getaway island resort and they are separated, she thinks it's just what happens. There are two small problems with her theory. The first one is that Carter is head over heels in love with her, even a year later. The second is that she got pregnant during their time together on the island. This story is about how things work out for them and it is wonderfully emotional and steamy.💓🔥💦

His Unexpected Love
This is one steamy romance! 💕🔥💦💕
Oh, my this book is hot! This is the prequel to the first book in the Cuffs and Spurs series, His Scandalous Love, and it really helps define who Carter and Jenna. They way they meet is so funny and it really sets up the characters. It's a little odd to read these two out of order but it really does work.💞💖💞

Again, it deals with the BDSM lifestyle and it's many, many variations so if that's not for you don't read this book or this series. But, so far, this series is amazing.💕

Jackson is a police detective recovering from being shot on his last case. He's realizing how lucky he is to have even survived the shooting and it's dawning on him how alone he is. He has friends and co-workers, but no one who would truly mourn his passing and that really scared him. He wants more but he didn't have the best childhood and is afraid of falling into his fathers' footsteps. He's also a Dom and knows that the BDSM lifestyle isn't for everyone. So when he gets pulled in on a new case involving a woman he's known for a while but never acted on his attraction, he decides to at least give it a try.

Rayna is a woman with a scary past, who is in the witness protection plan because of her family and their crimes. She's on her second identity in the program and knows she's still not safe. But for the first time since this whole mess started, she's finally found a place she likes with people she has begun to care about. And that scares her. But her attraction to Jackson rattles her more because he makes her feel things that she hasn't allowed herself to feel in a long time.

This book has some seriously hot scenes in it but it also has some downright scary times in it too. It'll also make you cry. But isn't that the sign of a great book? One that makes to feel for the characters and to get lost in the story makes a great read. 💗🔥💕

This book deals with the BDSM lifestyle and it's many, many variations so if that's not for you, don't read this book. 😉💖

With the Cuff and Spurs collection i am pleased to say that i have read all of Anya Summers books......i sincerely recommend that if you are a lover of BDSM books that you read this talented authors books. All the books in this series can be read as a standalone even if they are part of the collection

The Dominants are all alpha and dont take to being sassed by a sub without metting out punishment......but when the right woman shows up they will practically melt at her feet... they will do any thing to please her and love her once they have claimed her leaving the women of their choice simpering puddles of goo....

Spencer a Dom and the owner of a BDSM club has loved Meghan from the moment he met her and back chatted him. Meghan has a crush on Spencer but the workaholic and science graduate will not let anything stand in her way from getting her PHD.
When the two are snowed in together all the sexual tension and attraction between the two is unleashed that opens up to emotionally charged situations that are filled with misunderstandings, jealousy and uncertainty that will have you engrossed in the book until the very end.

His is Cherished Love(Cuffs & Spurs #8)
His Cherished Love is the 8th book in the Cuff and Spurs series and can be read as a standalone. 
Jackson is back from medical leave and his first assignment is to protect Rayna. Rayna has been in hiding and on the run for 10 years. Its up to Jack to protect Rayna.....but will he be able to protect her heart?
This is a fantastic read filled with nail biting suspense and steamy bdsm scenes that will have you glued to your e-reader.....A must read.

If you like your cowboy romance with a little bit of BDSM, you will love this collection. These cowboy Doms are rugged. They work hard and play harder especially when it comes to their women. I loved all of the stories, but His Wicked Love and His Untamed Love stands out for me. In his Wicked Love, ripped off by their previous chef, Mason is guarded when it comes to Emily. She is business savvy, smart, feisty, independent just to name a few and when it comes to Mason, she is putty in his hands. She is an open book and will not let anyone take advantage of her again. Both have baggage from past mistakes, but can they put it aside to see a future together? In His Untamed Love, Cole was captivated with his city girl right from the start and there lied the problem. He never expected that he could love again after he lost his first love but there was something about Mia. The more time he spent with her the more she pulled him in to wanting to protect her. Mia has abandonment issues. She lost her parents at a very early age and went on to bury her las link to family with she lost her aunt. Her boyfriend proved to be a class jerk and the friends she thought she had were not. Her fame only bought her loneliness and when she had another massive panic attack, she packed her bags and headed out of Chicago. Now she is in Wyoming in the vast open land, and she is coming to life thanks to Cole. Will these two heal each other or push the other away?

In this set we get the entire collection. Each of these books have couples that have men that know what they want and when they find the women that give them that they will fight before letting them go. An example of this is in the book His Untamed Love we meet Mia Evans and Cole Stewart. In this book we find two people who are looking for that spark to come back into their life. This is a super hot super amazing series by this author. Each book will have you salivating for the next. There is so much more I want to tell you but don't want to ruin it for any other readers. I will say this box set will have you looking for more from this author. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.

Layla and Alex are both likable characters and the story around them is well written and executed.

One person, so many secrets. This is a story filled with chemistry, passion, danger, suspense an two character who were made for each other. Between the suspense and the amazingly written BDSM scenes this was a read I could not put down.

This could be the ultimate Christmas present – all 8 of the original Cuffs and Spurs books in one fabulous collection. If you’re new to the series, this will be a treat like no other. The mean are friends, as well as hot Doms, and each book sees each meet their nemesis – that one woman with whom they see a future. Each book also has D/s scenes that will leave you a little … breathless. From Carter meeting Jenna on Pleaure Island and their reconnection back home with a surprise (His Unexpected Love continued in His Scandalous Love); the ubersexy Black Elkhorn Lodge and Resort’s brothers and the women that capture them (His Wicked Love and His Untamed Love); Garrett and Jack each finding the right woman; and of course Spencer, owner of Cuffs and Spurs who has to ban himself for bad behavior. Great Collection of Hot and Fun stories!!!

The Cuffs & Spurs Collection by Anya Summers is a great collection of her eight separate books in the series. I had not read any of this series by the author before but after reading a few other books by her I was looking forward to seeing what her cowboy Dom's would get up to. And boy do they get up to a lot of possessive and protective Alpha male behavior and a whole lot of sexy fun playtime.
I am not going to review each story individually here but instead say that this collection was a lot of fun to read and had me swiping my Kindle to start the next book after I finished the previous one. The stories are all easy to read with some being novella length and some being full novel length. The stories are each different but all joined by way of the Cuffs and Spurs Club in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. There is some character overlap but each book can easily be read as a stand-alone.

Cuffs and Spurs is the name of a BDSM club in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, and the name given to this collection of stories by Anya Summers. I have read all of them and reviewed most of them when they were first published. They are really enjoyable to read. They follow a pattern – a strong male character, a woman who comes to town with a difficult past, and a relationship that develops with the help of some aspects of spanking and BDSM – either at the Cuffs and Spurs club, or at their homes. Each story has some mystery or complication that prevents the relationship from developing easily, and it is interesting to see them worked out and come to a happy ending. The characters reappear in the different stories, and as they get married, the couples appear in the later stories. All are solid, hard working people who accomplish a lot in their lives, and are great friends and supports to one another. I read all the stories in this collection. It took me ages to get through, because I regularly had to put it down. This series has the typical problems every mass production that kind has. It is extremely repetitive. The stories all follow the same pattern. The characters are flat, stereotyped and resemble all the same type. Only the background stories vary a little bit. The erotic scenes are repetitive and the language as well. You get the same words and phrases again and again. I read it in the hope something unexpected would occur, but this never happened.
Like a fellow reviewer has already stated the men are all dominant. You get the impression that the whole town is somehow involved in BDSM. And of course the men are all quite successful in their lives. Yes, Mason and Cole have some problems with their resort in Mason's and Emily's story, but of course the problems are only temporary. So the men are all well situated and rather powerful in this town and the females are all lost or broken or have some issues and seek protection, though they all consider themselves independent and strong. But nope, they all need a strong man at their side. I criticized the couple constellations in other stereotyped BDSM stories, in which the men are always dominant and the women submissive. This is rather lame. What about all the other constellations? Gay relationships, femdom? It would have been nice to portray those in this club at least, no need to make them the mcs but just let them be there. But all the stories are based on traditional patriarchal relationships. It is always said that the women want to be submissive in the bedroom only, but then the men always expand the Dom/sub relationship to everyday life in which they make the decisions and the women better go along or risk a punishment. I found that extremely annoying. And of course all the men are manly alpha men (not my words). This means, that everything which is considered female is inferior or ridiculously girly (i.e. Jack doesn't take Garrett's offer of massages at his spa because the spa is too girly and Rayna laughs about the idea of him in such a female surrounding - seriously?)
Let's get to further problems. I hated Carter in both stories. He took advantage of Jenna's desperate situation. She needs the job on the island desperately and thus is forced to agree to be his submissive during his stay as part of her punishment. And the author makes very clear, that Jenna doesn't feel like she has a choice, that she agrees out of fear of losing the job, which she desperately needs to support her younger sister and her sick father. This is not consensual but abusive. He takes her to his cabin the first evening after her punishment at the club and is shocked to realize that she is afraid of him. Later on he is shocked when he realizes that he blackmailed her into the arrangement. Well, what did he think how this arrangement was made? He told Jared that he would leave the island if she wouldn't be his submissive for the week.
The next thing which I had problems with was that the women were sometimes pressured not to use their safe word because using it would have consequences. The needs of the men always seemed more important than those of the women. His way or nothing at all. All the men made really bad mistakes. But the women always forgave them. Worst of all was Spencer. He punished Meghan in rage, her using the safe word would end the relationship. Spoiler alert, it is her who grovels later. Simply no! Jack, too, hands out a punishment in rage though he lectured Spencer about it.
Another aspect which got on my nerves was the extreme horniness of actually everybody. I don't mean during club visits, but like all the time. The women melt into puddles when they look at the men. They are helpless against their desire 99% of the time. He just needs to so much as smirk at them and the female brain stops working. The men aren't better when it comes to desire but they are always extremely controlled. Only the women turn into helpless hormone driven masses. And all this is described in always the same words and phrases.
I admit I liked the Cole/ Mia story most, because I felt like all those annoying aspects were at a minimum. I didn't like Carter and Jenna, as I said before, I didn't like Mason and Emily, merely skimmed through their story, because I found it boring. I thought I'd like Meghan's and Spencer's story, but he turned into a complete ass rather quickly. I thought Layla's and Alex's story was ok, except for the fact that again the woman was somehow blackmailed at the club, the repetitive pattern and language and the general horniness. Garrett's and Cora's story didn't have much impact on me so I almost forgot to mention their story, again repetitive and stereotyped, the problem solving men who kept the women in the dark to protect them - lame! Rayna's and Jack's story was similar - repetitive with all the above mentioned aspects. Facing the danger around Rayna was repeatedly delayed by numerous sex scenes until the rather predictable solution finally ended everything. And again, all the dominant men are involved but the females are kept in the dark to protect them. You could clearly feel that the author fell in love with her male characters whereas the women paled to side pieces which were necessary to make her manly alpha males shine.
I only read this collection when I had nothing else to read. As soon as I found something else, I neglected it. I don't think I will read any other series of this author because the pattern will be the same. The characters will spot each other, both will be swamped by desire, deny it, then accept it, then the male character will screw up but the horny loving woman will forgive and surrender. When you look at the number of stories the author offers, it is clear that there is no time to think of more versatile stories. Mass production unfortunately tends to be repetitive.

If you have read any of the Cuff and Spurs books you are in for a treat for this collection has all eight of the stories just waiting for you to read. These steamy Western romances feature Cuffs & Spurs Club. At the club, you will meet cowboys who know just how to treat the ladies that come to the club and the feisty, strong, and willing to take a chance ladies too. These are BDSM themed stories yet the author introduces some serious issues too like fear, abandonment, and sexism. Each story is a stand-alone with unique characters and twists. The books will keep you captivated and engaged. The theme of the books may not be for everyone but the stories are excellent and well worth the time to read. This book is a huge book. With eight stories in it. Of course it is great value to get so many stories in one book. The overall theme is the club Cuffs and Spurs and the BDSM aspect of the lives of the people who are main characters in each story. All the stories are quite different from one another and the main characters as well, of course perhaps the ladies a bit more than the men as the men know each other and are friends and a more closely knit bunch even in the beginning of the first story while many of the women are "new" both to the lifestyle as well as to the area. Overall the stories are quite good and as said a very good value for the $ spent on this big box set. So beautiful four stars are very well deserved.

Sometimes you come across a set of books you will be sorry to finish. This is just how I felt reading this set. I love reading stories that are intertwined with their characters and what a set of characters they are. Each couple have to overcome their past in order to have a future. Super writing and plenty of meat on the stories with plenty of description I felt I knew Jackson Hole and would love to be there. Loved each and every one of the characters and their stories which were topical and totally up to date. Plenty of hot sex and dominant doms completely brought to their knees by their respective partners. Did I tell you that the stories were excellent? If I didn't, they are. A super author who does her research and I recommend her to you.

This is a collection of eight BDSM novellas set at a lifestyle resort in the Wyoming, where cowboy Doms find their perfect matches. Each story features a different couple and a different plot and can be read completely on their own. Meaning no cliffhangers, so you could set the collection aside between books, but you will probably want to just dive into the next story.

The stories are all well written with good, solid plots and well developed characters that provide a complete package and help to bring each story to life. Add in elements of D/S and spankings with plenty of steam and you have a definite formula for success in my book. And with eight stories to read, you get good variety and plenty of entertainment making this a great collection.

Highly recommended.
