I was born in Scotland but have lived most of my life in the beautiful Channel Island of Jersey. I live in a house by the sea with my husband and three cats. (I know!)

I have been writing for the last decade and Blood In The Sand is my first published novel. My second book, Blood Ties, was published at the end of November 2016.

I love walking on the beach and reading, reading, and reading.

Kurt Englebrook only makes a brief appearance in the story before meeting a gruesome end. Though it is clear that he was up to no good but not the reason why. Kurt had it all, you would have thought, he was a millionaire, he had just won a court case denying a right of way to walkers through his land, he had a beautiful wife, a couple of sons, faith staff and many years still ahead of him. You only need one enemy to bring you down though. He had definitely got on the wrong side of someone. There were plenty of suspects outside the family so this was going to be a real mystery to solve and up for the challenge was DCI Jack Le Claire.
I really loved the reading of the will, which really put a clutter of cats among the pigeons. I also had to say OMG and smile, then giggle the more that I heard. This was going to make very interesting reading without a doubt. Someone hadn’t been keen on it either as a further fatality occurs.
I loved the setting of this story which takes place in Jersey within the small community where everyone is in plain sight. The power holder of the family fortune just constantly changes throwing guilt on everyone. A brilliant storyline which had me coming up with theories to the very end. Loved the solid characters, discovering their strengths and weaknesses. Brilliant ending.
Many thanks to the author as this was a special read for me. I won the opportunity, through the generosity of the author and The UK Crime Book Club charity auction, to chose a character name. I picked one of my grandson’s names, Riley Jones.

A resident of the island of Jersey is found dead. He’s got enemies and it’s going to be a tough job for DCI Jack Le Claire to sort out the truth. Life on an idyllic island isn’t all it seems. Kelly Clayton is excellent at building tension and throwing in red herrings so that you don’t find out right to the end what has really gone on. I think this could be read alone, but if you’ve read the other three in the series you’ll appreciate the background. You’ll also have some idea what Le Claire has looming in his own past. It’s a very good story and will leave you wanting the next.

This book focuses on a Jersey millionaire who’s shady side comes to light after her is murdered in chapter one. There is a great deal about art forgery which certainly got me thinking. A great read.

Good story but disappointed with spelling/typo mistakes. For me, those errors spoil the flow of the reading process. Sorry.

A brilliant read

Another great book to add to the series. I can’t wait for the next instalment. I feel like I might bump into some of the characters then remember they’re not real!

A great read.

It’s a real treat to read a book that doesn’t have a predictable end.
It’s easy to read but full of detail.
Can’t wait for the next book in the series.
