I believe the children will like the illustrations. And one way to read the book would be to have them do some of the vehicle sounds of the book. As a lap-read, I think there is plenty in the illustrations for the reader to pick out--particularly that they are things the children can connect with.
5/11/10 & 5/13/10 The book worked well. The Tue. group (all 52) loved it. They made all the vehicle sounds. And the adults loved seeing what Grandma came on. I did feel a little silly when I did the ice cream truck and tried hard not to laugh (or blush).
3/31/11 Both groups liked it, though the first and larger one was involved and loved the end with Grandma on the bike. The second group--parents and kids--just stared at the weird librarian making all of these vehicle sounds.
9/7/16 Used in Toddler "bunnies" theme. First day loved the book. Got really involved when I asked them for the vehicle sounds. Second day made some attempts. Probably their most preferred book of the 3, so that was a plus.
