Eboneigh’s trauma turned her into one cold hearted b!tch! She is the boss NO ONE wants. She has no regard for feelings, well being, friendship 🗣️NOTHING! The firing of single mothers during the holidays brings her joy and you better not look her way or you might be next!

She is against all things Christmas and wants nothing to do with joy and peace on earth! After an unexpected visit from an old friend, Eboneigh fkd around and found out what would happen if she didn’t get her act together and QUICK!!

I absolutely loved the spin on this old classic and it was really good! Kyeate gave us a few twists and a razzle dazzle of Christmas all tied in a bow! This was a BRAE find and if you didn’t grab it please read it on KU! You won’t be disappointed!

Good twist on a classic story!

This was a play on Ebenezer Scrooge, and while I love an original story I love a traditional one done right as well.

Listen Eboneigh Scroo was a bi#$h, ain't no need to sugar coat it. She had experienced loss and a lack of love most of her childhood. However, when she lost Marleigh, the only person she considered family any love and kindness she had went out the door. Despite Bambino, her childhood friend and adult lover always being there for her she refused to accept his love. She was too busy wreaking havoc on him and all of her employees. She didn't care about Christmas and even if business was slow...she said keep the party going 🥴

When Marleigh comes to show Eboneigh her past, present, and future she isn't ready at all. She is able to see the negative impact she has on others and how dismal her future is.

Baby when I say I didn't see the plot twist at the end coming....I didn't see it 😳 and I consider myself able to pick up on context clues. And I low key wanted to slap the mess out of Eboneigh.

Good twist on a classic story!

Eboneigh Scroo the Scrooge 😏

Love this take on Ebenezer Scrooge. Eboneigh was definitely a boss. I was pleasantly surprised at certain parts of this fun little read.

Eboneigh’s life took a turn for the worse and it made her harden Christmas time was her least favorite. She allowed her pain to reflect on how she treated others. Not going to lie she got on my nerves lol. This was a decent Christmas spin.

This was a great spin on an old Christmas classic. Eboneigh really was a piece of work, and sis definitely put the Scroo in Scrooge. Bambino had to be a no limit soldier, because his love and tolerance for Eboneigh was limitless!!!! His snap back game was tight because bro jumped right back in that situation like he never left. My only complaint was the spelling and grammatical errors, they were noticeable.

Loved the spin on an old classic. I get that Eboneigh was hurt and still grieving, but damn she was mean as hell! 🤬 Bambino is the real hero standing by her through it all, and his love never wavered. I'm glad Marleigh came through and gave Eboneigh some act right, cause sis was out there bad.

Say what now? That revelation shocked the hell out of me, ok? 👀 I am just.... wow! However, everyone deserves a second chance, right? Eboneigh is taking her opportunity and is on the right track FINALLY! Enjoyed it.

Short and to the point!!

Eboneigh was definitely the Scrooge but she had her reasons. A hard life and the loss of her bestfriend really took a toll on her. So glad she and Bam got their happy ending!

The Boss

The idea for the story was pretty good. I wasn't always sure whether the manner of speaking was on purpose. The urban twist on The Christmas Carol was interesting.

Well Done

This author never fails to deliver a good holiday read with relatable characters. The spin on this Christmas classic made it a page turner. An author is skilled when they can make me dislike a character, and then want to see the same character win by the end of the book. #brae2024

A Ghetto Christmas Carol

Now Kyeate, I don’t know how you knew A Diva‘s Christmas Carol was my favorite movie lol but I’m glad you did. As soon as I started reading this book I was like, “hmm this reminds me of something I’ve watched before.” It’s my favorite Christmas movie and I’m glad you referenced it. I love the twist you put on it. Some people get so money hungry and forget to grieve their losses that they don’t realize how bad they are treating others. But Marleigh didn’t hesitate to show Eboneign how bad life could get if she didn’t change her ways and I’m so happy. She got that wake up call loved it.

Great Read

This was my first read by this author and I enjoyed it. A really great novella...enjoyed the storyline and these characters. Eboneigh, was dealing with so much pain, anger, greed and hurt and what turned her cold-hearted. So loved Bam and how he'd always loved Eboneigh. Really loved the ending and the emotions leading up to the ending. Great Christmas heartfelt hood/boss a groove...Bah Humbug. Urban spinoff to a Christmas classic. Looking forward to reading more of your work. Job well done Kyeate.

Eboneigh: A Boss Christmas Tale

Damnnnn OK Author Kyeate! I love how you did that with this story, you did that! I was so glad Marleigh gave Eb the reality check that she needed. I really thought she was a lost soul, but once I saw the heffa did have some kind emotion, I felt she had a heart and saw hope in her after all.
Great read and perfectly written
5*
P.S. I'm really shocked I missed that! You totally kept giving clues and I still didn't put 2 and 2 together 🤦🏾‍♀️
This is definitely a recommended read!

Loved It

Great spin on a Christmas classic. Absolutely loved the story, the way it was told and the way it flowed. Really turned into the joy you're supposed to feel, especially this time of year. But those life lessons were needed to get there - walking in someone else's shoes, don't assume you know another person's story. Oh, and blessing others. I was teary eyed. You get out of life what you put in. Excellent holiday read.

Christmas Tales

This book had the Christmas vibe of one of my favorite movies, well actually 2 of them. The author put her own spin on the storyline and made it hers. She gave u all the holiday feels in the form of the past, present and the future. She also pulled a fast one that I didn't see coming. Just the kinda thing that I like. Few errors but this was a good read. I definitely recommend it.

Lovely read!!

OMG, I loved it! I think Eboneigh is one of my favorite Christmas reads this year! My heart was so full and I cried. Life is short and everybody doesn't always get a second chance at it. Bambino was a strong man and I loved him for it. I'm glad Eboneigh finally got it together. This was my first read by Kyeate and I can't wait to read more of her books!

Awesome!

I can admit it was a little different than what I was used to reading your books, shit I almost stopped reading it. But I’m glad I didn’t because this book was everything! I’m glad she was able to get her happiness back from seeing what her future would be like if she didn’t change.

Great read!

I loved the movie "A Divas Christmas Carol" it had a very good lesson in it just like this story. This was my first read but I will definitely be looking into your catalog. I am so happy Eboneigh got herself together so she could be the person she was meant to be. Great story!

Looking At The Past Can Sometimes Change The Future.

Kyeate, such a sweet read. Eboneigh really needed to find her heart. Because of a tragic event she felt responsible and allowed her life to be dictated by hate. B, kept her secret and allowed her to live as she wanted.
It took Marliegh to show her what's important again. Just cute and a good lesson.🤗🤗🤗🤗

I get a Scrooge retelling so naturally the fmc needs to be mean but damn she was annoying as hell but that’s not what tripped me out…the twist secret baby whatever you wanna call it. What man willingly stays in a woman’s life in any capacity when she treats your kid like she doesn’t exist. I can suspend belief for a lot of things but that was too much for me

New Scrooge booj

This was a nice take on the Ebenezer Scrooge classic. The Scrooge in this book, Eboniegh is so jaded because of her childhood & the tragic death of her foster sister who was also one of her best friends. The ghost is the best friend, Marleigh.
I think that you should try this book & add it to you Christmas book list.

Bah Humbug!

Greed, anger, & harboring pain can make ones soul dark. And that’s just what happened with Eboneigh. But, it only takes one night to fix that. This urban spin on a Christmas classic will be sure to tug at your heart strings.

A good spin on a great story. Life long friends that deal with trauma differently and an awakening that is very much needed. The author does a great job with this well written story.

Eboneigh Scroo- she had the right name with her mean self. It took for her to be outside looking in to see her wrong doings. I didn’t see her changing, but she did. She finally gave Bam the chance he deserved and more.
