I want to thank NetGalley and Callisto Media for sending this to me in ebook format in exchange for an honest review. I have a rare spinal cord disease called syringomyelia, which is a cousin to MS, they share many symptoms. I live with chronic pain and have had several spinal cord surgeries. So I am always looking for things I can do to manage and decrease my pain and improve my quality of life. A good diet is always a good place to start when managing your health. If you have researched a healthy diet plan, you will find yourself overwhelmed pretty fast, at least that’s how I felt. Then I found this book, and everything changed. I love the layout of information, meal plans, and recipes. It is easy to follow and understand. The author even explains why each food is beneficial. The recipes are delicious and there are a wide variety of foods to choose from. I also love the 4-week meal plan! This makes it so easy for someone, like myself, who is new to this, to be successful in changing eating habits. I had never been someone who considered the benefits of eating a certain way, then I got sick and realized how it could help me, as well as, my family. I bought a physical copy and I’ve shared it with several people who have also been impressed with the book. It has bright, beautiful photos and an easy to read layout. I haven’t fully implemented the plan yet because of the holidays, so I can’t personally speak to any improvements in how I feel, but I can say that I highly recommend this book to everyone looking to improve their health. When you live with inflammation, chronic pain, and/or an illness, it is the things we put in our bodies that can make a huge difference in what we get out of our bodies and this book holds the key to get you started.
Although written for an American market as an Aussie I found this clearly written, well paced, very easy to read and understand but I had to do a bit of googling to translate names of fruits, vegetables and herbs to their Australian counterparts.
The foods to avoid and shopping lists are practical and recipes aren’t difficult and based around everyday foods. The metric conversion charts are useful although the liquid measurements may need a little adjusting. An international list for the different names of fruits, vegetables and herbs would be a convenient addition and save googling. There are no photos of recipes so consider this if you’re a visual cook.
The MS information is a good addition especially for those who don’t have MS and are wanting to learn more if they’re supporting a loved one with MS. The reminders to be kind and gentle to yourself as well as well as the journaling ideas are encouraging and uplifting.
No cure for MS so why bother to eat well? Multiple Schlerosis can be managed and kept as dormant as possible so that is why! This author ha seen it work and thus it solidified her "passion for recommending a holistic approach to wellness." Don't let MS beat you down. Change your diet and lifestyle and give MS a kick to the back seat.
Whilst this book is full of anti-inflammatory recipes, there's a lot of other great info in here also. If you don't know, "MS is a progressive, immune-mediated, chronic, inflammatory disease of the central nervous system". There is a 4 week meal plan near the beginning for those that need it. Good selection of recipes with GREAT blend and dressing recipes at end.
I was provided a copy of this book by the publisher. Thanks, Liz
Sending you prayers, I was diagnosed in 2010 and seemed to go down hill quickly. In six years I could no longer work and had real problems with balance and joint pain. Brain fog was really bad sometimes. I took rebif and had a lot of problems and had to quit. I have been on techfadera (not spelled right) for a few years and have several side effects. I felt lost and decided to quit my meds due to side effects. Our care provider introduced me to Ayurvedic treatment. I had a total decline of all symptoms including vision problems, numbness and others. Sometimes, i totally forget i ever had MS. Visit Natural Herbs Centre web-site natural herbs centre. com. I am very pleased with this treatment. I eat well, sleep well and exercise regularly. God bless all MS Warriors

I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis back 2015. Finding easy and flavor recipes isn’t the easiest. This book has so many helpful ideas and explains the benefits to the body with each herb and spice. I was able to make 3 of the recipes already and even though this isn’t a diabetic cookbook my 19 year old type 1 son ate it as well and covered correctly he didn’t get a huge spike in his glucose. I will continue to work my way through this easy to fallow cookbook and look to benefits throughout the pages of recipes.
Thanks Netgally for the opportunity to read and review.📚💕
After seeing numerous neurologists, I was given the diagnosis of MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS. I was given medication, which helped, but my condition was rapidly deteriorating. Ultimately, I learned about the useful MS-4 protocol at vinehealthcentre. com. This treatment has helped greatly with reducing my symptoms, it was even more effective than the prescription drugs I was using. My tremors mysteriously disappeared after the first month of medication, and I was able to walk better. Within 4 months on this treatment most of my symptoms has vanished. The MS-4 protocol is a total game changer for me. I’m surprised more people with MS don’t know it. This MS-4 protocol is a breakthrough
An MRI scan in August of 2014 verified that I had Multiple Sclerosis. I was on Capaxone for months, i was extremely weak, i was barely able to walk. A family friend told us about Mayaka Natural Clinic and their successful MS Herbal treatments, we visited their website w w w. mayakanaturalclinic. c o m and ordered their ms herbal treatment, i am happy to report this treatment effectively reversed my Multiple Sclerosis
Not as helpful as I wanted it to be. I was hoping to learn something new, but it's really about not eating processed foods, refined grains and sugars, and animal fats, and adding more fresh fruits and vegetables to your diet, all things I already know and try to do. And the recipes didn't work for my family; I couldn't find anything that every member of my family would eat. I really liked the overnight oats, but my children (teenagers) won't touch it.
This is great information about how foods affect your MS. It's written in a way that is easy to understand. The recipes are wonderful, and even though I have several food allergies, they're easily modified for my needs. The 4 weeks of meal plans make life easy, giving you a quick start to improving your habits. This book even provides the grocery lists you'll need for those meal plans and tips for cleaning out and restocking your pantry.
