Richard Bright is a man with a plan. He’s an inventor who he wants to kill his wife with one of his inventions. He hopes to put his plan into effect on Christmas, but his invention isn’t quite perfected. Dealing with his wife isn’t an option, nor her two rambunctious kittens, Harry and Hermione. What sweetens the pot is her large inheritance and a pretty young woman who is now working at his shop. Will Richard’s plan to have his special gift ready in time pan out, or will it fizzle with some of his other unfinished projects?

An interesting, quick read. Richard Bright is an inventor trapped in an unhappy relationship, and he intends to find a way out of his sham of a marriage by using his inventions. He plans to do away with his wife; mainly because she has all the money. He decides that the best time to put his plan into action is at Christmas, but his aim has a rather large flaw… the invention he plans to use still isn’t working properly! In fact, however hard he tries, he’s unable to get it to work. Throw two turbulently active kittens into the mix and you can be sure that things can only go from bad to worse. This is a clean, cozy story; just right for Christmastime reading.
A Great Plan - What Could Go Wrong...Go Wrong...Go Wrong...
Richard Bright enjoyed working with his uncle, Ben, until Ben died from a heart attack. After his uncle's death, he opened Creative Inventions and to sell his projects out of his shop. When he sold one of his projects to Jane Carter, he noticed her apparent wealth and launched a plan to marry her. Things went very well for a while, but then she started complaining about the time and effort he was devoting to his projects, rather than to her. Her new kittens did not help the situation either. So, with Christmas fast approaching, he launched a plan to do away with his wife. Will his plan work or will it backfire?
Debbie De Louise has a wonderful short story set around Christmas. Even though it is a short story, it has all of the elements of a wonderful mystery!!
A great little coffee break read. An unhappy marriage, an inventor who has designs to do away with his wife and an inability to follow instructions. He has thought out everything carefully. His marriage is a sham but she's got all the money. The only thing to do is to kill her. How? The personal bomb that his uncle was working on before he died. But nothing he does will make it work. Disgusted he goes out to buy her Christmas present. Now the exchange of gifts. What happens next?
This "book" is probably part of an anthology. Its a quick, fast read which seems to say you shouldn't underestimate anyone. You never know when your mistake will get you. Lol
Debbie De Louise does it again with a perfectly handcrafted story of Christmas Present. What I enjoy about Ms. De Louise's books are the realistic dialogue in a warm cozy setting that proves to be anything but ordinary. A delicious morsel!
This has a surprise ending! Richard Price is a not very good inventor but keeps at it anyway. He married a rich woman. They weren't all that happy after a couple of years--so Richard planned a surprise Christmas present for her. She had a big Christmas surprise for him too!!
