I was born and bred in Nairobi, the vibrant capital city of Kenya. One of my dreams has always been to capture the beauty and determination of some of the women in the city of my birth.
Uzuri is the Swahili word for Beautiful.

Swahili is a super-rich and voweled language that does not always translate directly into English.
That said, Uzuri is my love story with my city and the stunning women I get the opportunity to photograph. A photobook that dips into the richness, diversity, and brilliance of these women. They hold this city and nation to account, chart a path for others and raise the bar so high.

I would also like to pay homage to all the amazing women I have known, cared for, and who never gave up on me, I salute you. Without your support and love, I wouldn't be here today. But that is a story for another book.
