Rainy Day Alphabet Book written by Jackie Posner and Sara Wiener and illustrated by Laura Ferraro. No Awards Grade K-2 Rainy Day Alphabet is about a brother and a sister who have to stay inside on a rainy day. Throughout the book they tell the reader the different things that they do on a rainy day. Each activity they do starts with a new letter in the alphabet. Rainy Day Alphabet is different than many of the other ABC books. The letters are not written out in a large way as if you are reading just that. Instead there is a story that goes along with the book and each activity is a new letter. It’s much more subtle. This book could be used in class when students have to think about things/activities that start with certain letters. Or to follow up the bulk of the alphabet unit. This book isn’t used to say the alphabet so it shouldn’t be used for letter recognition.
This children's alphabet book follows the story of a boy and a girl who go through many possible activities to do on a rainy day starting with A and ending with Z. This is beneficial for children to learn the many activities they can participate in when they are bored or it is raining outside and it also teaches them sequence of the alphabet. This is perfect for the pre k age especially teaching the children when it actually is a rainy day outside and it would be easy to plan a lesson or circle time off of it. The book also has a boy and a girl which makes it desirable for both genders.
This is a cute book that can help young students learn the order of the alphabet. It can also be used to reinforce the order of the alphabet for students that already know the alphabet. It lists the many different activities you can do on a rainy day in alphabetical order.
This book describes what children would day at home on a rainy day. It addresses all the letters of the alphabet and the events begin with each letter.
