"THE MOLECULAR SLAVES" is a work of fiction and is a philosophical satire. It is a quizzical look at life and existence and a philosophical satire WITH A FEW UNEXPECTED AND HILARIOUSLY FUNNY CONCLUSIONS AND INFERENCES It is a laugh riot most of the way except in the end when it becomes philosophical and spiritual.
It is the fourth book by Mr Biju Vasudevan, the other three being the spiritual suspense action thriller "The Contract" and also two compendiums of traditional poetry namely "A Baby,A Man And Some Times And Other Random Thoughts" and "The One That Got Away And Other Random Thoughts"
The title is very attractive, the book talks about 6 different chapters which consists of 6 different stories which help us improve upon ourselves and various topics. A light-hearted and humorous look into the world of 'self-help' and 'self-help' books. the book is quite easy as compared to other self help books, so if you are new and looking forward to starting with some self-help do take this book. The author has given us impressive stories and also some great examples about the topics.
I am an avid reader. I have read some books of the author Biju Vasudevan. I found all these books quite interesting with unique plot. This one is not a self help book. Infact, it is a satire at the expense of Self Help books. This book gives a humorous look into the world of 'self-help' and 'self-help' books. The author has described how the so-called self help books influences the readers at the beginning but later the readers regret wasting their time on such books. The book makes use of good sarcasm and has given many examples to prove the point well.
The narration is really smooth and well paced. I have read a book on such a topic for the first time. I really appreciate the author to bring this topic in front of the readers. It will help them to choose the books they read wisely. This is a light hearted read. I would suggest others to read this book at least once for sure.
This 'self-help' book by Biju Vasudevan stands against all the same old 'self-help' books in the genre of Nonfiction. He has humorously protested against all the "How to" and "What to" books containing same old unscrupulous shitty contents that we gobble and vomit afterwards. So, it is a clear waste of time to indulge ourselves in the books that don't make us rich overnight or solve our health issues in a go. Noticable is his way of narration, he is a tremendously good narrator. Then comes his language, flawless and I appreciate his effort to speak out loudly about this issue.
When I picked up this book, I found the title appealing as well as hilarious because I agree completely with the author. Now, this might be a biased comment or review – hence the disclaimer. I am not a big fan of the Self Help or Nonfiction genre which deals with such topics. I rarely read such books and try to avoid them as they aren’t interesting or appealing to me.
But I couldn’t resist myself from picking up this one and reading it.
The author writes about many things related to self help and the genre and how others authors opt for this, how readers are influenced and tricked into buying them and the repercussions faced later. There are even some stories that are hilarious and makes a point to each of the adjectives used in the title of the book.
I found it intriguing, funny, sarcastic and serious at times which pleased my soul! Being a person who loves memes and dark humour, this book was exactly like those dank memes which we can’t help but share with our friends. Hence I would love to share this with you all.
Definitely recommend everyone to keep the next self help book aside from your TBR and read this book at least once.
First of all, title is extremely sarcastic. Second, though the plot is same old self help one, the narrative is captivating. It is humours and serious too, both at a time. What I loved in the book was it's way of dealing a situation in a fun manner. The author has tried his best to reduce the psychological pressure on the reader by ensuring that every situation, mentioned in the book, which we come across in our day-to-day lives are dealt with ease and the one who follows these methods do not face any perplexities. I think it was one of the best reads. I feel light hearted and am still smiling at some of the narratives. Do read, it's worthy.
Hilarious !!! Very Entertaining !!! A bagful of fun and laughter. Humor at its best. I sincerely hope self-help authors never come across this one. Mr. Vasudevan has made mincemeat of them and their followers. ROFLMFAO !!!!
This is, without qualification, the funniest piece of non-fiction written by someone else that I have ever read. I've read all of Vasudevan's work, and enjoyed most of it, but in this quirky, satirical look at the self-help industry, I feel he has come into his own, had found his 'thing', and I hope there will be many more books of this kind from this talented author.
The combination of richness of language, of penetrating observation, of bitter spite and sheer passion made this book the most enjoyable read of this year to date. I found myself actually holding my breath in places, as one does when listening to the funniest of comedians, in order not to miss a single word. You'll want to slow right down to savour every bitter, spiky, hilarious line.
I've only two words to say to Mr Vasudevan about this book: More, please!
