This book is of the Christian persuasion. As the author states in the introduction, "The very fact that you are reading this book shows you are concerned about raising your child to be a responsible, intelligent, genuinely likable, God-fearing person." Even if you are not a Christian, this book may help in non-Christian areas, like chores, clothes, mundane things that every parent deals with.
It can be a bit confusing, but understandably since no 2 children or situations are alike. To give allowance or not, pay for chores or not, get involved with friends or not, all depend on the family circumstances & the child.
