Stan Lee (born Stanley Martin Lieber) was an American writer, editor, creator of comic book superheroes, and the former president and chairman of Marvel Comics.

With several artist co-creators, most notably Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko, he co-created Spider-Man, the Fantastic Four, Thor as a superhero, the X-Men, Iron Man, the Hulk, Daredevil, the Silver Surfer, Dr. Strange, Ant-Man and the Wasp, Scarlet Witch, The Inhumans, and many other characters, introducing complex, naturalistic characters and a thoroughly shared universe into superhero comic books. He subsequently led the expansion of Marvel Comics from a small division of a publishing house to a large multimedia corporation.

There is apparently some confusion in the cataloging of this title. It is not the same book as "The Very Best Of Spider-Man"' which is apparently an omnibus collecting a selection of the web-head's greats comic book adventures. Instead, this book compiles some highlights from the Spider-Man newspaper strip, as selected by his creator, Stan Lee.

With that out of the way, my actual rating for this one is three and a half stars. Most of the adventures here are entertaining, though a couple of ideas seem to be used more than once, albeit from different angles. Even so, the character is inherently entertaining enough to make these a quick and easy read. Fun for fans to see their hero in a different format, but unlikely to convert the uninitiated.
