Unlucky Bastard Life Transformation Through Revelation

Rate this book
To know a man’s story actually offers a deeper insight into his mind, heart and soul. Min. Chris Burton “the life I lived was the one I knew. I didn’t choose it…It chose me!” With the level of drug participation in which I was entrenched, if there was hope for me, then, I strongly believe, there’s hope for anyone desirous of change. “There were times when I faced death by agreeing to sell someone else’s drugs. Then, I used them for my own pleasure. I should’ve known that a monkey was incapable of selling bananas.” I was my best customer and I was also my worst enemy.

This is a provocative, riveting and heart wrenching story that depicts the trials and tribulations of a boy’s struggle into manhood. On the west side of Chicago, in an area filled with violence, murders, drugs and deception, Chris was devoid of positive role models and was seemingly helpless. In his despair, he finds hope in God’s miraculous mercies. Min. Chris Burton aka Creamy chronicles his life’s story for today’s youth and for the inspiration of the seemingly lost souls of yester year. He gained popularity but lacked respect for his life, his fellow man and for God.

This is a riveting, bone-chilling story of a boy who, against all odds, evolved into a man. Min. Chris Burton records his horrific escapades as a high profile gangster and his terrific encounters with an omniscient God. Chris finally understand that the fear of powerless men is of no consequence, however, the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. Chris wises up and his life is totally transformed. This book dramatically encapsulates his failures and focuses on his accomplishments in life. He writes this non-fiction story revealing God’s purpose for his life. A powerful, depiction of a boy absent of luck, but blessed through God’s plan for him. Chris is the epitome Wanna make God laugh...tell him your plans. His story of “Unlucky Bastard” is a must read! Vallery Lucas

From the My life has taken me on a journey that would have killed most people—it did in fact kill many of my friends. From the detriment of gang life, to twenty years of drug addiction, the numerous geographical moves, deception, and thievery, I’ve faced many demons and escaped several deaths. All because I was chasing an illusion that was to never be captured. Having been fatherless all my life and being guided by an often drunken mother and siblings who were addicts and with no positive role models in sight, I felt like an unlucky bastard child for all of my adolescence and most of my adulthood growing up in my neighborhood of Capital Hill.

Today there are many Capital Hills in the urban community. In these places, the residents try to survive poverty and are subjected to a lot of violence, shootings and killings that are taking place daily. We fight each other because it’s easier than banding together and fighting against a political system that devised a plan to overflow our community with drugs and watch us commit genocide.

After living a highly at-risk life, it is imperative that I expose the illusion and deception that Satan devised to blind our youth and capture their minds before they have a chance to live the way that God ordained them to live—as kings and priest—ordained to subdue and replenish the earth. There is an abundance of life that many of us were never exposed to, that I have tapped into which is why I felt compelled to write this book.

Gangs run rampant in America, and local authorities can only do so much, it will take those that have walked in the offenders’ shoes to convince them that they are traveling a road set for destruction. Along with our intervention efforts, we must find alternatives to the only way of life they know. If I can deter one young man or woman from the fast-paced lifestyle that is designed to stagnate and kill any hope of a healthy prosperous life, this book will have served its purpose.
