This book is nothing short of amazing. The author's skilled writing drew me in and held me tight as the non-stop action left me breathless and, in the end, cheering. The amount of research Fowler put into this story is mind-blowing and his level of detail and insight make the book authentic and real. I would love to see this book turned into a film - I believe it would be a blockbuster at the box office. This novel is now in my top ten favorite books of the year. I'm looking forward to reading the next in the series. Highly recommend.

Five Stars! This book contains topics related to the power of renewable energy, the environment, politics, corporations, and government. It captures each character, their stories and the journey that they are on traveling to the depths of the Pacific Ocean. All are working collaboratively to harness the ocean’s currents to generate power. The author keeps you engaged, chapter by chapter, wondering which character has a different agenda. As you get deeper into the book, you can’t put it down because you want to know what the next chapter holds. Excellent work Thomas A. Fowler, can’t wait to see the movie!

The Thales (The Rising Current Book 1) written by Thomas A. Fowler is a suspenseful murder / mystery novel that takes place in a turbine electric power generating control station located at the bottom of the ocean. FIVE stars.
A "Who done it?" engulfed in hope, danger, life, death, desperation, brotherhood, greed, sisterhood, suspense, betrayal, fear, justice, reconciliation and love.
It held me spellbound with a sense of bustling to read the next chapter. The Thales (The Rising Current Book 1) kept me up late at night needing to read just one more chapter and reading more while having breakfast.
Add it to your "Must Read" list.

I loved the tension, I loved the underwater setting (death is always a bulwark away), and the plot was tight, fun, and full of mystery. But my favorite piece of the Thales was its characters. I want to get invested in the characters of a book, to hate their enemies and to love their friends. While there are many shades of gray throughout that add a moral component to the tale, I got everything I wanted out of these characters. You won't be disappointed.
