The Galactic Pantheon #2

The Twisted Vine

Rate this book
In the millennia since leaving Old Earth, humans have spread far and wide across the galaxy. A pantheon of sub-level gods was created to oversee the expanding population, always to protect them out of sight, never to become one of them -- and never to experience love. Or so they thought.

When Fei, a brilliant but downtrodden programmer, finds proof that the Creator God's most loyal followers own the company she works for, her secular sanctuary is shattered. She soon finds an unlikely ally in Kuja, the god of rainforests, who feels compelled to give her the patience and understanding she so badly needs.

But Kuja must abandon her before his siblings discover how deep his feelings for her really are. They would see her as a distraction -- or worse, a threat to the grand design. And Fei is already in enough danger. She's the only mortal capable of saving the countless innocent lives that the Creator God's followers want to destroy.

Kuja is desperate to return to Fei's side. But even if he could protect her from his siblings, why would she want to spend an eternity with him? And how could she forgive someone who has lied to her from the very beginning?

I was excited to come back to THE GALACTIC PANTHEON universe and see how things were shaping up for our poor tortured young immortal gods after Sandsa’s book. I really enjoyed Kuja (the rain forest god) and Fei’s book. Fei is a programmer who works for TerraCore and basically sort of programs the rain forest into being. She and Kuja have so much sexual tension and fire and their steamy scenes are HOT. There’s lots of conflict in this book carried over from the first part of the series between the immortal siblings, with Fayay controlling things and Sandsa worrying over his son. There were some great scenes I really loved, and also loved the conflict over Kuja’s needing to tell Fei the truth about being an immortal. We know that’s going to go well! This was a delightful steamy sci fi romance and I loved coming back to this world! 5/5 stars.

This was a bit hard to get into, but once over the first couple of chapters, it developed into a really nice love story.
