Respect the Dead
A sudden illness has spreads across the United States. Reports are coming in that it is worldwide. Hospitals are overcrowded and the pharmacies are running out of medications. Suddenly the sick start to die. Something has changed in the dead, they get back up to kill. Through the chaos Beth McDaniel needs to find her best friend and her brother. The city burns, the roads are impassible and the dead rule the streets. Newly updated October 2017. This story starts from the beginning of the outbreak. It follows the horde of zombies growing and the fall of civilization. Through out the tale I try to answer the questions that bother me. If zombies eat people why aren't there just piles of bones around? After a couple of weeks, shouldn't the threat be over due to decomposition? Why is there always a zombie clown? Hopefully some of these questions get answered along the way as the survivors try to find safety in the country.

About the author
Shawn McLain
7 books6 followersBedtime stories for Shawn were read by his mother. The titles included "I Robot," Greek Mythology, and "The Martian Chronicles."
Growing up Shawn always enjoyed writing. Some of his early stories were written simply to scare his friends. One of his childhood memories was sneaking a peek into his grandparent's TV room to watch the trailer for "Dawn of the Dead". This movie terrified and entranced him. His first full length novel was written to answer many of the questions he had about the Zombie Apocalypse, such as, "If Zombies eat people why aren't there just piles of bones around?" "How are there so many zombies all at once?" and of course, "Why is there always a zombie clown?"
He has started writing more supernatural thrillers with his book, "The Grey Girl."
Shawn lives in Pennsylvania with his wife and their cats. When not writing he works for a Statewide Public Affairs network.
