Love Don't Live Here

Love Don’t Live Here,” the first book from a generational series. A story about two young women in their early 20’s and takes place during the early 1970’s into the 80’s. Barbara loves her boyfriend Trini dearly but finds out the hard way when he leaves her while she’s six months pregnant, that love is not always what it seems. Having to raise their son Jermaine by herself poses to be a great task. Like Barbara, Beverly also becomes a single mother but through different circumstances. Her boyfriend Malik, a conscious young man in his early 20’s and is a member of the Black Panther party, winds up getting killed during a bank robbery. This leaves Beverly to fend for herself and two children, Derrik and Tinesha. Being a woman she knows what it takes to raise Tinesha into womanhood, but is lost when it comes to Derrik. The two women invite us into the world of relationships and single motherhood. In the end we all find out “it’s about doing and being the best that one can be.”

Just released Black American Vision.

In Black American Vision, Therone Shellman presents an unapologetic Black American viewpoint on issues such as illegal immigration, labor reform, the restoration of Black Americans, Black education reform, law enforcement and criminal justice reform, and the future of Black politics.

Too often, the voices of Black Americans are drowned out by those who are seeking to misunderstand them on purpose, those who are benefiting from their struggles and sacrifices, and others who are utilizing them to progress their causes, not as allies, but as undercover competitors.

Therone Shellman sets the record straight in showing Black Americans have their own interests, views and don't need anyone attaching them to issues that don't align with the progress of Black American objectives.

My works are said to be thought provoking, and I love to enable readers to think outside the box. I'm not a conformist to general ideas in regards to politics, psychology and life in general.

Keep Ya Head Up

Insecure, naïve, and pregnant Barbara has discovered that responsibility and commitment weren't words in her live in boyfriend Trini's vocabulary.

Beverly finds that her man Malik's first love is servicing the Black Panther party. Imagine he'd loose his existence fighting the power.

Now the issue of raising a strong, intelligent black man in America is the task at hand. Both Beverly and Barbara are finding it demanding and exasperating. Even with an enormous amount of love from family and friends can Derrik and Jermaine maintain or will their rebellion cause them to fail?

The perception of Love Don't Live Here had me ready to experience a first hand account of single parenting. Instead I found that it was overloaded with characters and events that were unnecessary. Not a bad read, this is a great concept and I would love to read more.

Author Therone Shellman did an awesome job with this story right here. At the very beginning of the book I found myself intrigued with the storyline. The characters are very realistic and I could actually picture what was happening. I would certainly recommend this book to everyone. Make sure you grab a copy for yourself and see what I was talking about. Love Don't Live Here
