Wow! Another page turner from M. S. Matassa! I read the first two of "The Well House" series and was so anxious to read "The Redemption," the third installment of this amazing story of Ben Carson, a decent man fighting the ultimate evil to save his beloved family. This book has it all; fantasy, magic, mystical spells, enchantment, suspense, excitement, creepy creatures and danger galore! Unforgettable character? Elias Grippe, a strange little fellow who dropped out of the sky saying he was the great and wonderful unmatched wizard who was going to help Ben in his quest! And there is the deep love of the family and friends and Ben's special love for his dog, Sherman. The author describes the characters so vividly that I really cared about them in their frightening adventure into the depths of hell. My reading choices are usually mysteries, detective and court room drama. This was new for me and I'm so glad I tried something different. I am hooked on "The Well House Chronicles" and I hope Mr. Matassa comes out with another novel....soon! A must read!!
I have read the first two novels in the Well House series so was really looking forward to making a start on this one. I didn't think that Matassa could top the second book, however, I don't mind admitting that I was wrong! I found this to be a fabulous read and dare I say even better than the first two in the series. Again a fast paced book that kept me totally engrossed the entire way through, extremely well written with amazingly captivating characters. Well done Matassa for exceeding my expectations, I will look forward to reading more books by this author and I am in no doubt about recommending this book to friends and family, however I would also recommend reading the first two books in the series to ensure you get full enjoyment.
The story continues as Ben Carson's Son has been held hostage for over a year, so along with familiar characters from his previous books in the series, they begin another journey into the underworld to save Ben's son.
I have read the first two books in this series and was very excited to begin reading this the third! I was not disappointed, I literally could not put this book down as it was so well written, full of suspense that kept me on the edge of my seat.
A total must read in my opinion. I would also recommend reading the first two books to give you full enjoyment.
Get ready for the deepest journey into the Dark than ever before with the third book in The Well House series by MS Matassa. Just like the other two books in the series, it was really imaginative and so well written. When reading it you feel like you're immersed in the atmospheric land where Ben Carson takes on the forces of evil once again. Ben has his family behind him and the magical and mythical friends he has met along the way, but will it be enough?
Another great piece of fiction that is fast-paced and full of interesting and empathetic characters. The plot kept me guessing from start to finish and like the other two books in the series, really unique and interesting.
This has to be my favourite novel by this author, all three of the books were amazing but this one was a real page turner and never disappointed, I was a little nervous when I first started reading it as the other two were great reads but this one was outstanding. I now consider Elias Grippe to be my spirit animal. All of Matassa’s books I’ve found both fascinating and this is my favourite one yet. Great job, highly recommend and hopefully there will be a fourth book. Well done.
‘I will not give p this life. No one will defeat me.’
Colorado author Michael S. Matassa earned his degrees from Regis College in Denver and the University of Colorado School of Law and is an attorney and Municipal Court Judge in Arvada, Colorado. THE WELL HOUSE was his debut novel though he has also written several short stories and a screenplay. The Well House Chronicles continued with THE REVENGE and now THE REDEMPTION is Volume III. He states he discovered the well house in the late summer of 1994, standing by a field of corn on a small farm just south of Brighton Colorado, where it still stands today. His nom de plume is M.S. Matassa.
The author’s skillful scene painting provides the curtain raiser for this novel and a brisk recap of the first two novels in the series – ‘In the summer of 1998, Ben Carson faced the ultimate evil – and won. Once his wife, Anna, recovered form the coma, she gave birth to a daughter named Molly. The family continued to live in the same A-frame house in the mountains near Boulder, Colorado and life was peaceful and fulfilling. Ben became a successful writer, and Anne volunteered time at a Boulder homeless shelter, counseling residents with mental disabilities. Their son, Taylor, got a job in Denver at a television station as a reporter and married his longtime love, Jenny…’ The summary of events pulses on as the new stage of adventure unveils.
The saga continues as condensed in the author’s synopsis – ‘The ultimate evil now roams the earth in a human body in order to set up his kingdom and rule the world. The year is 2016, and Ben Carson has fallen into a deep depression because his son, Taylor, has been held hostage for more than a year and Ben is unable to save him. Disturbing dreams are back, which give Ben clues on how to defeat the evil power. Familiar characters return to help Ben on his quest. Ben and his dog, together with his wife, Anne, and daughter, Molly, enter the well house, and descend into the underworld in an effort to save his son. A great wizard, a Basque priest, and his old friend, Claude Moran, also accompany Ben, together with other familiar characters. They encounter terrifying dreams, dangerous creatures, and demonic angels on several journeys through the underworld, where some lives are lost during the search for redemption. Will Ben win the battle and gain redemption or will he, his family and friends be destroyed and the world ruled by evil? The answer can be found in the chalice, the stones, and the water. The story of Ben's fight is finally concluded...or is it?’
THE WELL HOUSE CHRONICLES is one of the most satisfying paranormal fantasies before the public at this time. While reading the entire series is recommended, THE REDEMPTION is so well written that it stands alone as a fine novel. Recommended.
The Well House III: The Redemption continues the eerie fight between Satan and Ben Carson. M.S. Matassa begins with Ben depressed with how his last battle with Satan ended and the price he paid with his family. Has he lost faith in God and is willing to give into the Devil? The thrill of the fight is felt through the pages as Jack St. Louis, aka Satan, begins to have nightmares. Ben Carson is ready to take back what is his and the power felt through the nightmares puts Satan on edge. It is a race to see who wins Taylor as both Lucifer and Ben puts their plans into action.
I love the suspense and action M.S. Matassa weaves within his novels. The Well House III: The Redemption is a book you cannot put down as the forces of evil faces the love of a father and his friends of various spiritual skills. Nightmares warn the characters of events about to happen and when they learn to take these dreams seriously it allows them to form plans. You can feel the energy from the characters and the well-written precision from the author, which gives this book an edge. I highly recommend this series and have enjoyed thrill this novel emits.
Another great Well House novel by author M.S. Matassa. I love how this was as exciting and unpredictable as the first two. I loved the continued fight between Satan and Carson. This book answers questions about Carson’s faith and his struggle with Satan. Matassa is a great fantasy writer and I could really imagine all three of these books being brought to the big screen. I can’t wait to see what he will release in the future, hopefully another book to add to the Well House series, but I’d also love to read a new series of books by him as well. Highly recommended.
The Well House The Redemption by M.S. Matassa This story starts were last stopped, the family is together, all but Taylor as he's following Lucifer. Story also follows Taylor and what he goes through and he wants an end to the nightmare he's facing... He's not physically on earth but he can't wait to start the new age and be done with it all and get back to his family. One of the boys that was following Lucifer, Liam loves Molly and he's run away from Lucifer but he still has powers over her.. Confrontation is so frightening to read, just can't imagine it... Many of Ben's friends have dreams that they hope are the answers...orbs and stones all play a part in the finishing act. Received this review copy from the publisher and this is my honest opinion
