Would you like to step away from the crazy this Christmas?
Advent was meant to be a season of quiet waiting, but our desire for a “Silent Night” can easily be shouted down by the loudness of the season and our own hearts. Renee Davis Meyer invites you into a posture of quiet this Advent, sitting at the feet of the prophets of old, learning the Biblical concept of Waiting on God.
•Scripture readings and devotional thoughts, intended to be read daily, December 1-25. •Daily journaling prompts, so that you can take what you’re learning and plant it deep in your own life. •Weekly conversation starters, for use in community and families •Appropriate for individual or group study. Advent is a season of waiting. What are we waiting for?
Good advent devotional. This was a nice break during a hectic season, to be reminded to pause and reflect and remember to wait on God. I particularly liked the journaling prompts, although somewhere around week 3 I grew a bit tedious of the same ideas. My favorite part was the inclusion of passages of Andrew Murray's book which prompted me to dive into Murray's writing. Thanks Ms. Meyer for a nice devo for advent!
What better way to prepare for advent than to learn what it means to wait on the Lord. This easy to follow progresses you through different bible verses that illustrate different ways we can wait on God. I especially enjoyed the journaling prompts. I will be looking for another study by Renee Davis Meyer
25 readings for Advent, each diving into a different Bible verse about Waiting on God. I love finding quiet moments in December to meditate and sit with these beautiful promises, that we have a God worth waiting on. And what better season for these truths than Christmas, when we celebrate Jesus, the great promise kept?
Quite obviously, I am a fan of this little book (I wrote it 😍).
