Pookie and Jack’s story was one I couldn’t put down. Trying to overcome the past and mistakes they both have made, it looks like they might have a chance for true happiness when it all comes crashing down. Accusations and words fly. Will they ever be able to trust—and love—again? A real page turner. And if you love horses or cowboys, you can’t miss this book.

When things go wrong and unresolved misunderstandings, will they both ever see eye to eye? Autumn Renewal is a beautiful short read with lots of harts and written well with deep characters and love. Don't miss out just because it's a quick read.
M.A Jewel delivers a nice romance with this novella. Despite the short length, the characters are well developed and the plot has enough intrigue and the requisite bad guys to keep you engaged.
Autumn Renewal was a light read with a touch of suspense. Poochie and Jack get a second chance at love, and meanwhile trouble hits Jack at a bad time. It was sweet with a little heat, and a quick read, but there was just enough development to get to know the main characters of the story, although it was not a deep storyline. Jack isn't a billionaire alpha, but he's a sweetheart of a man who is given another shot with Poochie.
This was a one sitting read for me and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It’s been a while since I read a romance with suspense so I inhaled this story. This is a well written story with the main characters being very likeable. I’m looking forward to reading more from this author in the future.
This is actually not what I expected but I'm so glad I read it. Poochie and Jack are so good together, you just know they were meant for each other. Between her ex and his employees/friends who needs enemies.
Caught in a compromising and guilty position, her cheating fiancé with her best friend, Myrtle “Poochie” Thibodeaux knew it was time to hit the road home. The site brought pain of betrayal. Where to go; call home to Mom! Returning to her hometown, it’s gossip and her painful high school past, Poochie faced a new future. I loved her horse, Chuckles; I felt the kindness of Brody; and, I admired Z. This is a must-read short story that unfolds fast and has many moving parts which I loved. Thanks for a wonderful Sunday afternoon read. Amazing colors on the cover of this book!
This was a quick read, think novella. I appreciated the way the author wove the back story into the story as it progressed instead of just hitting it with you all upfront. I would've appreciated learning more about Blair and why he was the way he was but it was not really needed for the story. All in all, it was a good quick read that was well written.
This is a nice read. You have a woman returning home after catching her fiancé cheating. Things have changed but her high school sweetheart is still single and still hot. He let her get away once and is determined to not let it happen again.
Really enjoyed this story it was written where you feel like you are right there with the characters the whole time period I escaped into a different world Full of love. Look forward to reading more of this author's work.
Sweet story of second chance love. Jack and Poochie shared an innocent first love. Poochie can’t wait to leave her small town and start a life where people don’t know her. Betrayed by her fiancé she returns to her hometown for comfort and to figure things out. Jack has never gotten over her and when she returns without her ring on her finger he decides he won’t let get away again.

Well written plot with some totally interesting characters make this novella a great read. Loved the way the plot was woven and how I became totally immersed in the intriguing and romantic story. Definitely a page turner.
I really enjoyed this book. I loved the country them!! I love horses and racing. This book was a true love story! Just wish I would have known who won in the end. You can guess, but I hate to guess.
This is my first book by this author and I’m so glad I got the chance to read this second chance romance. Jack and Poochie were high school sweethearts, but she left Monroe Falls for a bigger city. When she returns after being betrayed, will Jack get his second chance? Grab your copy and get ready to flip the pages to see what happens. I loved the suspense and the ending.
Great short story. Even is you find great disappointment in someone you trusted and thought you’d spend your life with don’t give up on life it love. Poochie thought her life was a total disappointment until she moved home and not only finds her home but finds her heart isn’t dead. Her old love from years ago is still in town and she still gets nervous around him. Now they have to find a way to let each other back in.
This was the best novella I've read in a long time. Well crafted and edited, with characters that were well rounded. Poochie (Myrtle) goes back home to start over after her engagement falls apart, and lands smack dab in the middle of a mystery. She also falls into the past with Jack, her teen love, who she may have a future with as well.
Let me get this out of the way. The nickname Poochie irritated me...no I hated it. I understand why Poochie hated her first name, but there was no context for the nickname, so I was puzzled. Her family is originally Southern, so maybe it's a South thing? Perhaps if I knew, I might come to terms with this nickname.
My favorite parts of the story are when Poochie remembers the past and comes to terms with it.
"Forcing herself to look back made her path clear. Just like the Monroe Falls denizens, she was flawed. Today, she’d find a house or apartment and join the other imperfect souls Jack cared for despite their deficiencies."
"Jonathan Holland, Junior’s rich baritone rumbled just as it had ten years ago. With his velvety voice and smooth-talking personality, he should be in radio or politics by now. She had no doubt he’d intentionally come to her rescue, but his astonishment at seeing her appeared genuine. And was nothing compared to her own."
"While Monroe Falls had every outward appearance of a nice small town, the good people here didn’t welcome everyone. Years ago, they’d shunned her father, Lawrence Thibodeau, a poverty-stricken alcoholic, and by default, his wife and two young girls."
Even simple sentences resonated with me, as I remembered right along with Poochie.
"Huffing, she shouldered her pack and marched to the door. The knob stuck, as it always had, and she joggled it open."
And this story had cowboys! It was a unique setting in Vermont, as most don't see it as a horse raising state. But I'm from upstate New York, so I'm aware of the many horse ranches in Vermont. It was fun to read all the details of horse racing. I really loved the story...I just needed more! Here's hoping this author decides to eventually expand this short story to a full novel.
Poochie had come back home after a breakup. Jack was her past the man she left behind, could he stay that way or would he bring her back to life and put her trust back in men. This book has a wonderful story and is an easy read with great flow.
Poochie has the bad luck of catching her boyfriend cheating on her with best friend/boss (Oh Baby!) and immediately calls her mother to come get her. She leaves behind her fancy car and other things that he bought her, and adapted to driving her mom’s car and sleeping on her mom’s sofa while trying to pick up the pieces. In the meantime, she runs into Jack, an old beau, and finds that he’s saved her horse that she bought as a child and begins spending time with him even though the ex keeps trying to woo her back. Her interest in Jack continues to grow, but will she be able to trust him after things that she’s overheard?
Totally has a HEA, and even though the story could use a bit of filling out, I was happy with this cute little story.
M. A. Jewell was an author new to me, but I volunteered to read this story in an ARC group I'm a member of.
This is a novella that is very well written, contains a very sweet story of second chance love, and how love changes from teen-love to adult-love. There's a little bit of intrigue, and a lot of extremely talented writing going on in this book. It may not be spicy enough for some, and other readers may not have any interest in horses, but if you do have a mind to read a good book, grab this one. I do not believe you will be disappointed. It is a short, easy read; well edited, well written - what else would you want?
After a Messy breakup Poochie Thibodeau returned to the town she grew up in. She realised she left there for a reason. She had a history there and history had a way of pulling you back. Could she be happy back where she started and where everybody knew her story. Jack Holland was the man she left behind. Could he make her stay this time? A brilliant novella by M A Jewell. I couldn’t put it down and can’t wait to read more from this amazing author.

I have been devouring romantic suspense lately. This book called to me so hard, I knew I had to get it. Autumn Renewal is about second chances but the author brilliantly adds in a suspense aspect that really keeps the story moving.
Full of betrayal, anger Poochie goes back to her hometown and high school sweetheart Jack is still there. This was a great second chance filled with so many feels and descriptive scenes. Who doesn't love a small town romance .
This was the perfect novella to start my year off!! MA Jewell is a new author for me but she definitely made me a fan with this one. It was sweet and beautiful and emotional.....I loved every single word.
