The second edition of "Principle of Genetics" reflects changes in emphasis in research and the discoveries to which research recently has led. Features of the second edition increased coverage of recombinant DNA technology, gene regulation in eukaryotes, and the genetic basis of development and of immunity reflecting recent advances in genetic research. Additional human and medical examples are included, especially on the genetics of cancer. A new chapter is presented on molecular evolution covering the molecular mechanism of evolutionary change - the DNA sequence - thereby linking genetics and evolution for students. Twice as many problems are included, now following every chapter in the book, with solutions given to many of them summary sentences throughout the text highlighting significant topics. Chapter summaries reinforce concepts for students.
