The love of a child is the greatest fortune of all
“I’m alone,” she said hoarsely.
“You’re not alone.”
Finally, Laurel Hudson has been found—and no one is more relieved than her ex, Adam Fortune! But reuniting Laurel Hudson with her son will be harder than anyone realizes. An accident has left her with amnesia, and he’s got several days and two thousand miles—in extremely close quarters—to help his former fiancée remember their baby boy…and how much more they truly share!
A frequent name on bestseller lists, Allison Leigh's highpoint as a writer is hearing from readers that they laughed, cried or lost sleep while reading her books. She’s blessed with an immensely patient family who doesn’t mind (much) her time spent at her computer and who gives her the kind of love she wants her readers to share in every page. "The Texan's Baby Bombshell (The Fortunes of Texas: Rambling Rose)" by Allison Leigh is the final book in the six book series. I think that this one ended up being my favorite book because it brought the Rambling Rose, TX series to a close. Maybe for now since there are a few characters in these stories that don't quite have a closure. I highly recommend the other five books in this series because the characters revisit other stories. We first meet Laurel in Book 1 when she goes into Labor during the opening of the New Hospital in Rambling Rose, but there are complications and she is sent to a larger facility. She ends up bringing her baby back to Rambling Rose and leaving it at the hospital. Then she disappeared and no one knew what happened to her until book six. There are other complications when baby 'Linus' gets sick and needs a blood transfusion. Turns out the first baby Daddy wasn't the Daddy, and it ends up being Adam Fortune's baby. The only way he found out about it was because he was the bone marrow match to 'Linus.' There is so much to this book that I actually didn't put it down at all.

Part of a long series with an arcing story of a baby who was abandoned. The only thing is, even though the baby was left at a medical clinic, and the mom was suffering postpartum depression, there was no mention of police involvement at all, or child services, except as an aside to straightening out the custody issues, and then, only paperwork was mentioned. Perhaps I'm wrong, but it still struck me as strange. Especially when the mom had been missing for months, even though she had been in a car accident, had anmesia.
‘The Texan’s Baby Bombshell‘ brings the multi-author series, ‘The Fortunes of Texas: Rambling Rose‘ to a conclusion – and what a wrap-up Laurel and Adam’s story truly is. From the very beginning of this series, Baby Linus has played a solid role in the background of some stories, more in the main plot in others, but he has always been the huge mystery of this series… and he’s always been an adorable little tyke in each scene we’ve seen him in. Now we’ll discover in a heartbreaking way for some exactly who his true parents are and how he ended up alone in Rambling Rose.
I don’t want to give anything away (more than the Cover Description does) of Laurel, Adam, and Linus’ story. But I’ll tell you that I cried real tears, I certainly chuckled, cringed, got a bit frustrated, and finally felt the story come together, make perfect sense, and watch a family be reunited as love grows stronger than ever between two people who were always right for each other.
Sometimes the final story in a series falls a bit flat, like too much has been given away to have anything left to discover — not so with ‘The Texan’s Baby Bombshell‘, we may have suspected some things, but learning of the pain, confusion, and the love that never stopped on either side made this final story perfect, for me. I’ve enjoyed myself with these characters, laughed, cried, and got happy endings all around. If you love a really good reunion story that will break your heart and quickly heal it back up again then this story, and this series, is a perfect fit for you.
