I have fallen in love with all things Alexa, Echo, etc...however, I am technically challenged, having been born in 1971. This book didn't talk down to me, so I was comfortable with the author but yet it explained items in enough detail that I was able to set-up New tasks and skills easily. I learned that I will now be converting my appliances/light bulbs/entire home to an Alexa smart home. Lol. Truly worth reading.
Downloaded for use with my Amazon Alexa - even though it says for Echo - it is still helpful. Liked that it was pretty straight forward. Already set up a few things mentioned in this e-book.
This is a very well written learner's guide. This guide offers you, the reader, much more than the standard static instructional manual does. Don't worry you will still get the step by step instructions on how to use the echo dot and all its features like a typical manual does, but they are told in a fashion of someone who actually in real life uses the item, which to me made it easier to understand and follow. The author also give you little tips throughout the book, these tips contain items like shortcuts that he has found or glitches that he ran into and you the reader may as well might run into while using your echo dot. These tips along with the screenshots from the Alexa app i find make this guide even more reader friendly.
The guide itself is broken down into chapters and each chapter is a different area of the device, then with the chapter the items are broken down even further into structures that feature items like an overview, step b step instructions on how to activate the item, the items uses, ways to troubleshoot and then finally with a "CJ TIP" and as stated previously these tips are from the author who is a user of the device himself so they will tell you common issues and ones that he has encountered himself. Within the chapters there are also hyperlinks that allow the reader to go back and forth throughout the book, this helps with refreshing your memory of items previously covered or to skip to a specific area.
Overall I do give this a 5 out of 5, and highly recommend to anyone who has a echo dot, or truly if you are even considering possibly buying one you would benefit from reading this guide, since the author is very honest in the capabilities of the dot, so if there is something specific you are wanting to use the dot for, you can read this guide and it will let you know if the dot is able to do it and if it is worth you money to buy, It is not very long so it can be read quite quickly, and the author's writing and structure does add a lot to this rate.
Lots of stuff to do with my new Dots. The device has a lot of features, so finding them all would be difficult without advice. It took me two short evenings to read it all and the day between to impliment the most interesting. I think I'm good on where Alexa stashes her help and suggestion ideas, so I don't expect to go back to it often. $2.50 is a small price to pay to avoid some pain in finding your way around.
Written in a no nonsense style, this book gives you a detailed overview of the Amazon Echo Dot. It's a very good book to have to learn how to program and use the device.
