Mertz continues to provide multiple intricate descriptions of people, weapons, vehicles, places, and other topics to bring the reader directly into what is going on within the story. Add to that, he reveals Cody as a collector of off-the-wall trivia.

The book starts with Jack Cody on a mission to find the head of a racist group that has links to militant Islamists. After receiving the information he needed, he reported it to Sara Durell, his handler. Cody then begins a mission to find a terrorist group entitled, Flame of Allah.

Follow Cody as he seeks to find out what the Flame of Allah has planned with their future "Fires of Allah" mission to bring America to its knees.
