‘Monsters aren’t scared, kids fear and flee. Being big and brave, that is the key’
The beautiful Israeli children's books author, Sigal Adler, just keeps adding to her now rather impressive number of books for children. Each of her books was written in Hebrew and as they became best sellers in Israel she decided to have them translated into English to benefit an even broader range of children. As always Sigal's rhyming style is delightful. The stories are not only entertaining but they also carry some subtle messages to those children fortunate enough to read them - or have them read to them. The books are enhanced by one the top illustrators - Harry Aveira.
It is the autumn season and what better way to introduce a lad and his Monster – the lad tries to question his monster as to why the monster is never scared. Do sharks, elephants, crocodiles, lions, and bears not frighten him? Of course the Monster replies that he is scarier than all of them, but when the two friends search in the dark basement for a ball to play with, they encounter a hiding mouse – and the Monster is terrified! This reassures the boy that even monsters get scared – ‘After this happened, we played ball in the sun, but we learned a lesson, and it was quite fun. We’re all a bit brave, but we get scared too. Monsters and children, like me and you’.
A fun story with a solid message beautifully illustrated - and Sigal Adler successfully adds to her repertoire of fine children's books.

I told the purple monster I had a secret.
I feared the dark.
Monsters don’t get scared.
And kids are frightened of us.
What about a shark wouldn’t you fear it?
What about an elephant charging toward you?
Can you name other animals you would be scared of?
Are you & the purple monster still friends?
I did not receive any type of compensation for reading & reviewing this book. While I receive free books from publishers & authors, I am under no obligation to write a positive review, only an honest one.
A very awesome book cover, great hand drawn colored pictures, & proper font & writing style. A very well written children’s educational adventure story (rhyme) book. It was very easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a great set of unique characters to keep track of. This could also make another great children’s (educational adventure movie, an animated cartoon, a classroom PP presentation, or better yet a mini TV series. There is no doubt in my mind this is a very easy rating of 5 stars.
Thank you for the free author (s); Goodreads; MakingConnections; Making Connections discussion group talk; BookSends; Amazon Digital Services LLC.; book

Even monsters get scared
This colorful rhyming children's book is about a monster an dhe has a boy for a friend.
They make up a dangerous situation and tell us what they'd do to scare the animal, not have animal scare them.
Different animals have their own pages and the solution is right on the next page.
No fighting or anything, I like the ideas.
They must find the ball that rolled in to the basement and it's very dark there and lots of shadows with the flashlight they carry...
Good story.

This terrific storybook 📚 reverses the old saying that monsters are scary and do the scaring. This monster is afraid showing that everyone is afraid sometime.
The little boy 👦told his monster 👾 that he is afraid of the dark. Then he laughed and said, "Being big and brave, that is the key 🔑.". Can someone really not be afraid of something. Then he went about testing it. Does he find something Monster is scared of? You get to read/listen and find out. Do not be be afraid. You can do it!! 👍

Disappointing. The text needs a lot of editing to bring it up to publishing standard. It had numerous grammatical errors and forced rhymes that didn’t work, as well as words without spaces between them.

Demonstrates with enticing illustrations and text, that it's okay to be scared on occasion, and that one can be brave and still be frightened at times.
