A very short book but it seems to provide a concise history of the Adirondacks and the process of the legislation that protects it fro over development. The inside cover says that it is meant for "..readers ages 10 and up.." True - its not a hard, detailed read at all but, as noted above, it gives a quick understanding of the history of the area.

For a more detailed account of a part of the Adirondacks read "The Adirondacks Fulton Chain-Big Moose Region: The Story Of A Wilderness"
