As God begins to transform our minds, we begin to think like Jesus and believe like Jesus. For this reason, it is important for us to understand the eight key beliefs of the Christian faith that--when embraced in our hearts and minds--create true change in our lives, in the church, and in the world:



I believe the God of the Bible is the one true God--Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

I believe God is involved in and cares about my daily life.

I believe we come into a right relationship with God, by his grace, through faith in Jesus.

I believe the Bible is the Word of God and has the right to command my beliefs and actions.

I believe I am significant because of my position as a child of God.

I believe the church is God's primary way to accomplish his purposes on earth today.

I believe all people are loved by God and need Jesus Christ as their Savior.

I believe that Jesus will return to judge all people and establish his eternal kingdom.

About the author

Randy Frazee is the lead teaching pastor at Westside Family Church in Kansas City. He is a graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary, and a leader and innovator in Bible engagement, spiritual formation and biblical community. Randy is the architect of The Story and BELIEVE church engagement campaigns as well as the author of His Mighty Strength; Think, Act, Be Like Jesus; What Happens After You Die; The Connecting Church; Making Room for Life; and the coauthor of Real Simplicity with his wife of 40 years, Rozanne.

Pros: This study is well put together and easy to facilitate. The corresponding videos are well produced and I particularly love the portions where scripture readings are animated in various artistic ways. There is no pre-work for each week's group discussion. Instead, the personal work done outside of class relates to the material discussed in the group already. I like this set up.

Cons (to me): This is not a in-depth Bible study, although it is filled with scripture references. Frazee presents ideas as absolute truth and I am not fond of this, although I appreciate that this can make for good discussion and personal reflection.

This just feels like discipleship "light". A bit formulaic. The Good and Beautiful series by James Bryan Smith, or the Navigators 2:7 series provides a much deeper experience.
