This is one of those books where I think having the physical ARC in hand would have made the experience better for me. This felt like a very meager workbook. I think there will be, I hope, little graphics to assist those who do not draw something to look at when creating their perfect llama, unicorn, butterfly, etc. There are drawing prompts in here as well as writing about those things that maybe you have overlooked about yourself.
It is hard to tell what this would look like in print since so much of it would be based on the vision of the author and what the publishing house will do with it once printed. I definitely would like to see this once it comes out on February 14! Valentine’s Day is a perfect day to show some love to yourself. So, definitely check this out if you want to find a more authentic you!

Shine Bright is part drawing tutorial, part introduction to bullet journaling, and part magic. Due out 14th Feb 2020 from Schiffer on their Better Day Books imprint, it's 96 pages and will be available in paperbound format.
This is a line drawn black and white book filled with drawing and writing prompts. The art is exuberant, simple, and appealing. Although aimed at younger/tween readers, this would also be a great selection for child minders, friends, and relations who are upping their 'draw with me' repertoires. I worked through a few of the drawing tutorials and managed a credible mermaid, cupcakes, and some flamingos. Lots and lots of fun. The drawing pages are perfect for coloring with pens, pencils, or crayons.
Hours and hours of intelligent fun with a positive message (you can do it, you are super fun, be silly, your imagination has no limits, etc etc). The vibe is upbeat and kind and a lot of fun.
Beautifully done. I enjoyed the tutorials and the message. And there are llamas wearing heart shaped sunglasses!
Five stars.

Shine Bright: A Color, Draw & Dream Book for a Beautiful Life by Lindsay Hopkins is an activity book that is currently scheduled for release on February 14 2020. This book is intended to build creativity and confidence. This book focuses on all of the awesome traits that make each reader special! Each chapter features patterns to color, fun drawing lessons, and ideas for writing about hopes and dreams.
Shine Bright is a inspiring activity book for middle grade and older readers. It offers encouragement for readers to be themselves, be brave, and keep moving forward. I liked the stress put on the fact that no one is perfect, no one can do something perfectly the first time, and that bravery is really about doing the things you love and want to try even though you might be scared. The activities including coloring, drawing, and writing lists and ideas related to the chapter subject. Often times I find books with this intent to be a little cloying, but I really like the way it was done here. It was not all "hip hip hooray you are perfect!", but rather takes notice of the fact that we all get scared and make mistakes and encourages readers to keep trying and to be kind to others because they are doing the best they can too. I think many young readers will enjoy exploring this book, and will hopefully come away from it with more confidence than before.

I always enjoyed books like this! I think it would make a terrific stocking stuffer or a tween or teen. Prompts help them articulate and imagine. It inspires goodness, confidence, etc... Lots of examples and fill the blanks. I think maybe girls will enjoy it more that most boys. I'd recommend finding a copy and leafing through to figure out who would enjoy it and find it entertaining.

Part coloring book, part drawing tutorial, part journal, this special book brings so much positivity and charm to the world. I love that the coloring pages aren't extremely intricate--sometimes you just want to color something quickly that is going to inspire you to create joy in your life. This would be such a fun gift for a teen or young girl. There are a lot of different activities in here to inspire. Highly recommend!

In this book, we can fill in parts of the book in sections titled how to be brave, love, be kind, be confident, be happy and positive too about ourselves and our bodies.
In modern times where we are very self critical this book will help teens and children alike to appreciate everything we have in life and reflect on the good not the bad. A delightful little book!

I thought i would give this book a try in an attempt to learn a few cute little doodles, and ended up really enjoying it! the artwork is adorable, all the drawings are very cute and have an acheiveable end product.
I would definitely get this for my nieces and nephews, it's very child friendly and full of wholesome content.

This book has sparkles written all over. It cheerful and fun. The colors are beautiful. Reading through it makes you smile. There is step by step drawing tutorials, reflection questions, and encouragement.

This cute little book is so fun and would make the perfect gift for a young girl or teenager that likes to doodle. I even found it fun to try the drawings and artwork. I received this book from NetGalley for an honest review and I highly recommend it. It’s simple but happy and interesting.

I really enjoyed the cues and prompts in this book. I also loved the premise of magic being an internal part of us vs what we usually think of magic. Now that adult colouring books have faded away a little, this type of personal journey with creativity is just what we need.
