A Must Read for Biblical, Judaic, and Christian Scholars
While this book is well written and good about notes it lacked one thing needed for me to give it that 5 star. I found myself being told that so and so is wrong and then Mr. Caitlin puts fourth his position, and gives many reasons why other scholars erred but not where he might have. He doesn't do it every where, but a few places I found myself frustrated not by the information which is typically well thought out and cogent, but more the presentation of the material. Not to mention the nagging undertone I got from the author telling me that he was right in his thought processes and everyone else had it wrong. Instead of guiding me on the journey and letting me reach my own conclusion.
However, it provides invaluable insight and information on the thoughts and society of 1st century Judea. I highly recommend it.
