Sam Taplin grew up in a beautiful valley in Yorkshire, where he dreamed of being a writer, and after three years reading other people's books at university he started writing his own. He's been doing it ever since. When he's not writing about lonely rabbits or inquisitive bears, he likes doing card tricks, writing songs and playing long games of chess by the fire.

This was such a great find in the book shop today. The illustrations are gorgeous and there are so many different birds to look at and listen to. My son wouldn't stop playing with it and pressing all the buttons in the shop (and he loves birds!) so we had to buy it! Brilliant bird sounds and lots of slightly more unusual ones too (Greenfinch, Nightjar, Sedge Warbler) We love it!

A fabulous little book that my best friend bought my daughter from Kew Gardens. The bird song is brilliant and is a great interaction for children. The art is bright and colourful. 5 stars!
