Christmas came in the way of a nearly drowned party planner this year.

Sia Fitzgerald is obsessed with Christmas.
So she's decided to use her event planning skills to turn Martha's Vineyard into a winter wonderland.
Which is about the last thing I want.
Since leaving the Coast Guard, I own a fish shack.
And once the season's over, everyone leaves.
It's amazing.
But now, Little Miss Christmas is screwing all of that up.
Problem is, Sia also looks more delicious than any cookie she bakes up.
And I want to trim her tree.
I know she thinks I'm the Grinch,
And I'll be one, if I can steal her heart.

Hooked is a fast-paced, opposites attract romance full of sexy Christmas sweater contests, stolen moments under the mistletoe, and just the package you hope to find waiting when you're snowed in for the holidays. No cheating, no cliffhangers, and a heartwarming, sizzling hot HEA.

This story is a departure from the almost formulistic approach to Doyles that the author was doing, for which I am very happy.

Sia/Seraphina and Vinny’s story is filled with a lot of wrong first impressions, past hurts and loads of protective layers around both of their hearts.

Sia is coming to Martha’s Vineyard with the hopes of patching things up with her uncle after a past tragedy tore them apart and she thinks putting on a big Christmas party would kick things off in the right direction.

Vinny is a bit of a loner and only allows certain people into his world. He likes things quiet and is not on board with Sia’s plans to have everyone come to his part of town and stir things up.

These two are pretty combustible. They try to fight their growing attraction by trying to keep up their protective walls but their chemistry is just hard to ignore.

Both of them have a different way of protecting themselves from past hurts and it’s great to see them trying to work past those defenses and allow the other into their heart. There are many moments that cut to the quick as you feel the pain they have both locked away. While there are some tense moments the author doesn’t take it to full drug out angst mode.

You get both POV’s, which is always nice for me. The inner dialogue also thankfully isn’t over done. Steam levels pretty high. You are definitely rooting for these two to make things work.

Oh my sweetness - where to begin with this fantastic story.
Sia is an event planner that is determined to put together one last amazing Christmas family get together for her cousins and uncles on the Doyle side. She is nervous because of returning to, what is now, the Claddagh Inn brings some unwanted hurtful memories to surface.
When a nor’easter comes their way, she ends up in a predicament and meets Vinny (a good friend of Kearan’s).
Vinny automatically sizes her up as a vain, materialistic, and bubbly individual. While she sees Vinny as a grumpy and very guarded individual. Both of them have pasts that are full of hurt and realize along the way that they were wrong with the first impressions that they had of each other. There are bumps in the road of their relationship but will they be able to overcome each other’s pasts along with being able to face how they really feel for one another?
I laughed and teared up quite a few times with this one. Sophie did amazing building the characters, their backgrounds, and the heat that these two have. I had to step outside to cool off after a couple of scenes. All in all, I couldn’t stop reading this until I finished it. I had to see what happened, I had to know that these two beautiful characters got their happily ever after and Sophie made my heart melt into a warm pile of goo over the epilogues (yes! There is more than one of them in this one). I will definitely be reading this feel-good steamy romance again in the future.

This is book #6 in the Doyle series, part of the box set of 7 stories. This one is about a friend of the Doyle family, Sia, and her romance with another friend of the family. Takes place again on Martha's Vineyard a previous book and continuing storyline. I'm giving this book 3 stars but really rounding up for the overall time spent with the series, and not really that this book was up to 3 stars for me, it was pretty boring. I enjoyed the box set overall -but at this point it's fading away and I am ready to finish. I know these aren't the most exciting reviews but most of the time it's just me documenting what I read and why...to look back on!

Fun and sweet holiday read. Sia wants to spread Christmas cheer in Martha’s Vineyard but Vinny is playing the Grinch. Soon sparks are flying between them. Fast-paced read with loads of drama and plenty of steam. The characters were so much fun and the chemistry is hot. I liked it.

4 1/2 stars!

I do NOT consider these as stand-alone reads, as there are reoccurring characters and overarching themes. I highly recommend these be read in series order for maximum reader satisfaction and to prevent spoilers.

Contains subject matter that may be a trigger or offensive to some including adult language, adult intimate scenes with dominance, submission, and some light restraints, and violence such as fighting, assault, drugs, death, etc.

I am trying to mention grammatical issues for readers such as myself that visualize the story as it is read. This story contains multiple issues including transposed words, misspellings, typos, as well as missing and extra inserted words.

This story is about Sia, the cousin of the Doyle brothers and niece to their Uncle Danny. She was really close to Danny’s son that died. She suffered a lot of trauma between Danny’s loss and the treatment of her parents.

Sia’s parents are ones that shouldn’t have had children and unfortunately that meant that she was treated like a third wheel, often forgotten and shown she wasn’t wanted. The real bright spots were her Uncle Murphy and her cousins. Now she wants to do something for everyone. Sia started party planning years ago and has decided that since their Uncle Danny was doing somewhat better that maybe they could have a family celebration and invite some locals to help showcase the new Inn.

Vinny has lived on Martha’s Vineyard about 10 years or so. He is a loner and has no living family that he knows of or claims, especially after coming through the foster system. He joined the Coast Guard because he liked the water and that is where he met Kieran. After getting out he moved onto a small house on Kieran’s Uncle’s property and opened a Fish and Chips hut. The nice part is he can set his own hours, open and close when he wants.

Sia is so excited about the prospect of hosting a party for her family, that she is looking for alternative transport to theIsland when the ferries are shut down due to weather. A local fisherman overhears and offers to let her go with him if she wants. Sia readily accepts and everything is going fine until they are pretty close to the Island and the boat takes on a couple of high waves. Suddenly the bilge pumps can’t keep up and the boat starts listing to one side. The Captain calls out a Mayday!

Vinny Is woke up my Danny to go and help with a boat that called a Mayday since they were closer than the Coast Guard. He joined a couple of others and they were able to rescue Oscar and a female passenger that saved his life as she refused to let go of his collar after Oscar was knocked unconscious. Since they weren’t aware there was another person on the boat, they only had one ambulance waiting, so Vinny took her to Danny’s home to start getting her warm.

Imagine his surprise when he was attracted to her, which hadn’t happened for him in quite a while, and Danny recognized her … she was his niece!

The Grinch and the party planner

Hooked is the story of Sia and Vinny. She is the niece and cousin of the Doyle family from Boston who is a party/event planner. She wants to throw the best Christmas party that Martha's Vineyard has ever seen at the Claddagh Inn which is owned and run by her uncle Danny Doyle. But when she tries to board the ferry to the Vineyard it is not sailing as there is a large nor'easter storm blowing. But one of the locals, Oscar, offers to give her a ride over on his boat as he needs to get back home. Things don't quite so as smoothly as anticipated and before long they are in real trouble and Oscar is calling a MayDay for the Coast Guard. Vinny is one of their rescuers and he does not take kindly to her, after judging her very inappropriate attire for such a dangerous crossing. Sia thinks he is more of an egotistical azz but still really hot. They both are holding onto a lot of hurt from early in their lives that has closed them off to the true possibilities that they can have so much more than they think they deserve. When they start to get to know each other and share more they soon learn that they have the ability to start the healing process for each other. Will they be able to make their Christmas wishes come true on Martha's Vineyard during the Christmas party?

I received a free ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.

This addition to the Doyle family story takes a slightly different turn. Sia is their cousin and is going over to Martha’s Vineyard just in time to organise a Christmas party for the inn and family Christmas get together. Vinny was in the Coast Guards with Kieran and still is from the island’s side. When Sia’s transport is caught in heavy storms, he comes to Sia’s rescue. The two are from opposite sides of the tracks and yet have so much in common it’s uncanny. Vinny went from one abusive foster home to another as a child. Sia had everything money could buy except her parents love and attention. That’s why it’s so important to her to put the Christmas parties together for the family that have always shown her love. Vinny cannot understand her need for superficial things but as the two become closer and break down their defences, they begin to realise that they could have something very special. A Christmas themed addition that can be read at anytime of the year. It also introduces a different branch of the family who’s stories need telling. Another well written story with excellent relationships and characters to enjoy.

ONE ENGAGING ADVENTURE!!!
Ah snap! Sophie nails this bad boy 100% on point realism that hooks you from the start and reels you in for the duration. One refreshing spin with an exhilarating storyline and gripping plot propels this bad boy to life flawlessly. Add drama, skepticism, distress, turmoil, intrigue, danger and suspense, you have one incredible page flipping, prize winning bombshell that launches this baby into a tailspin with mystifying impacts. Jumping hoops, hurdling the trials and tribulations keeping pace with a slew of plot twists and sharp turns as we bare witness to the struggles our characters face. The chemistry is intense, sizzling and explosive. The characters and their personalities are original, authentic and realistic with the just enough flaws to add diversity. The scenes are so colorfully described it's easy interpreting each scenario as they play out beautifully. Amazing job Sophie, thanks for sharing this little guy with us.

Hooked is exactly what you will be when you read this book and any other book in the Boston Irsh Mafia Romance series. In this book we to see another Doyle brother meet his match. Sia loves the Christmas season and has plans of turning the vineyard into a Winter Wonderland. Not everyone is excited about this and the crowds it will draw. Is Sia up for the additional.challenge to take on the grouchy Doyle brother? Can all her sweetness tempt him and warm him up? Sia is ready share her Christmas cheer, can she convince her Grinch to accept? Another great story to add to this series. A holiday theme story just in time for the holidays themselves. Perfect to curl up with a hot drink and blanket to lose yourself in. Enjoy!

An enjoyable read with characters that spoke from the heart!
by sewsummore

Vinny grew in foster homes and soon learnt that the only person you can rely on is yourself. He became a loner, forming relationships made you vunerable and that leads to pain when you inevitably get let down. Sia yearns for family, to be wanted as well as needed. When the two meet it was dramatic and dangerous. She owed him for saving her life and saw him as a man who needed to find warmth and caring in his life. What she did was give him the life he always needed as part of a family even if it was a family of friends. They say opposites attract and this is what happened to Sia and Vinny, and it was the perfect answer for both of them. This was an enjoyable read with characters that spoke from the heart!

Vinny is a lost & lonely soul like living out on Martha s vineyard with his best friends uncle. Sia came to try to make amends with her uncle. She is trying to throw an amazing party at Christmas to help her Uncle out. She's trying to make everyone happy despite being brought up by horrible parents. Vinny was raised in the system. He tried staying away from people cause they always hurt him. He meets Sia & realizes she is trying to make up for something in her life. Once they meet the rea!use their souls need mending. They help each other out for the best.
This series is coming to an end. Sorry to see if end.

If you're looking for an easy to follow, hot, steamy, sexy, smooth flowing read that captures your attention from the start. Congratulations my friends you've found it. The characters and scenes are realistic and believable. Twists and turns and unpredictable surprises that kept my eyes on the pages and on the edge of my seat. I followed the characters fascinated as their personalities transformed and blended. Vivid detailed descriptions were so life like and on point. The storyline was solided and well defined. Cold showers may be in order when your finished. Sophie Austin did a remarkable job bringing this story together beautifully.

Hooked is the sixth book in Sophie Austen’s The Doyle’s, Boston Mafia series and tells the story of Vinny, the original Christmas grinch and close friend of several of the Doyle brothers, and Sia, an event planner obsessed with Christmas and who is setting up a Christmas Eve party for her Doyle cousins and I’ll uncle. Vinny and Sia meet after a boating accident where he helps to rescue her. They are attracted to each other, but are having severe ups and downs emotionally in their relationships due to childhood traumas. I recommend this fast paced holiday read which has a plot which puts you on an emotional rollercoaster ride of emotions with two complex and memorable characters.

While this is another great book in the Doyle family saga it actually has a entirely different feel to it.

Sia/Seraphina has returned to the Doyle family to try to reconnect with her uncle after a family falling out and as a peace offering she is doing a large Christmas function as she is an event planner. Vinny instantly writes her off in his mind as a vain party girl These two manage to form so many wrong impressions about one another but as they learn more about one another Their attraction to on another grows Can they have a future together You will have to read to see.

Sophie Austin’s HOOKED: The Doyles: A Boston Irish Mafia Romance is the steamy story about Kieran’s friend Vinny Esposito(ex-Coast Guard) and the Doyles cousin Sia Fitzgerald. When Vinny pulls Sia from the dark and raging sea he’ll have no idea what hit him. Can two people with broken past find love?
This is an enemies to friends romance that takes a turn on the wet side. One click it for an enjoyable read. I definitely recommend this book and author. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Hooked... on this series.

Hooked: A Christmas Romance is the sixth book in the amazing series The Doyles, Boston Irish Mafia Romance. I am totally hooked on this series and will be rereading the stories many times. Seraphina (Sia) and Vinny are terrific characters, well developed, and both have past hurts to deal with. The storyline is well written and suited for the Christmas season, with family issues, making amends, a grinch and his fish, and a sweet but steamy romance.

I read and reviewed this book with no obligation.

This story is about Vinny (he’s a loner, believing the one one you can trust is yourself) and Sia (needing to reconnect with her family). These two meet when he saves her life, she believes she can help him heal and rediscover himself as a caring man and in doing so she can also be healed and become part of a family again! Will this happen?

Tis was a bit different than what I have been reading from this series and I am so glad for the change! Sia and Vinny are the most sizzling two I have read so far! Sia is for a better term a bit gun shy and Vinny is quiet and bit of a recluse per say. Between these two the heat is brought and the trimming of the tree is going to be a ride no one will forget specially these two. One heck of a ditty!

This one almost broke me. Sia and Vinny are both dealing, or not dealing, with past hurt and are both a mess. Sia is the opposite of Vinny, in how they are living their lives, but their chemistry/connection is still there. I loved their story, even though it made me cry. Another fabulously written book with all the heart that you love from this entire series.

I love mafia romances, and there's just something about an irishman that I find infinitely hot and to die for. This was a different kind of mafia romance in that it centers around Christmas, but still it was really good!

I am hooked on this author's work

Spoiler alert:
Be prepared to cry. A Christmas romance is suppose to be a happily ever type of book. The author brought Sia and Vinny's sad childhood into my heart and jerked it out. What an emotional book.
Definitely recommend this book. Be prepared to cry.
