Jingle Bell Clock (A Christmas Valley Romance, Book 9)(53,132 words) Why does the Christmas clock keep coming back? Tally Barrow awakens from a coma that’s lasted almost a year. She believes she hates Christmas, and who the heck is this guy, Sam Reed, who claims to be in love with her? All it takes is one night in bed with Sam for Tally to reconsider what she thinks she knows about herself, but then Sam disappears. The Christmas clock, however, just keeps coming back, and coming back, driving her crazy with its musical renditions of Christmas favorites. Tally finally realizes the clock is giving her clues, but about what? Even when she figures it out, she still doesn’t know where that leaves her relationship with the hunky firefighter, Sam Reed.
Ann Simas lives in Oregon, but she is a Colorado girl at heart, having grown up in the Rocky Mountains. An avid word-lover since childhood, she penned her first fiction “book” in high school. She particularly likes to write a mix of mystery-thriller-suspense with a love story and paranormal/supernatural elements. Simas currently has 25 books in print. Both are available in paperback and in ebook format.
An award-winning watercolorist and a budding photographer, Ann also enjoys needlework and gardening in her spare time. She is her family’s “genealogist” and has been blessed with the opportunity to conduct first-hand research in Italy for both her writing and her family tree. The genealogy research from century’s old documents, written in Italian, has been a supreme but gratifying and exciting challenge for her.
this was a sweet and adorable story.. some parts werent there for me honestly.. but overall it wasnt horrible. i didnt dislike it. it was well written and i enjoyed reading it
First off read in order because the events prior events will make sense in this book then. Is a sweet romance novel with some Christmas mischief in it. Gotta love how Ann Simas thinks these things up. I honestly adore her books. Tally has just woken up for an almost year coma due to a car accident. But when she finally realizes what is going on. She has every right to freak out. Especially about the cute guy that's been pinning for her by her side since the day it happened. If only she can remember who he is to her and why... And who sent her this weird clock and why is it bugging her...
Tally Barrow woke in a dark room with only a small nightlight to reassure her. Her thoughts were scattered, so she went back to sleep. The next time she woke, she recognized her old bedroom which she had not slept in for 10 years! It was a struggle to sit up, and things looked different. Memories alarmed her, so she crawled back under the covers and slept again. Next time, she heard her parents mention a coma and leave the room. The blinds were open and she remembered she rented this apartment because the bedroom was like the one she had in her parents’ home growing up. She saw the IV and pulled it out, and came to the same awareness of the catheter. She went to take a shower and saw her hair had grown 6 inches and she had lost 10 pounds!
Smelling coffee, she went down to the kitchen and saw her parents, her brother, Micah, and a man she didn’t recognize. After their shock, they told her she had been in an accident, hit head-on by a drunk driver. She had sustained several broken bones and head trauma. The unrecognized man was Sam Reed, a firefighter, who looked upset that she didn’t know him. He had waited a year for her to come out of the coma and never thought she would have forgotten him. Oddly, she thought she didn’t like Christmas, and she was extremely negative and somewhat hostile toward Sam, Christmas in general, and her job at Gingerbread Cottage which she couldn’t remember.
Back home, sitting by the gas fireplace, Tally started to remember Sam. She heard something at her door and found a small package there but no one around. The package was actually ticking! Was it a bomb? She started to call her brother but saw Sam’s name in her phone and called him instead. He told her to leave the apartment, and he showed up with a cop friend and said the bomb squad was coming – and scolded her for not leaving! After the bomb squad left, she saw an old-fashioned alarm clock sitting on the kitchen counter!
The alarm clock startled her when it played Jingle Bell Rock… what alarm clock plays that tune? She turned off the alarm and set the clock to the proper time. Yet 2 hours later, it went off again and had changed back to 12:00! In another few hours, it went off again. This time she taped the alarm button down to make sure it stayed silent! But it didn’t… who sent her this clock and what is it trying to tell her?
There’s magic in the air and a mystery to be solved! Will Tally’s memories of Sam return? Will she find out what’s going on with that alarm clock and where it came from? Grab your copy and see what’s really going on!
I enjoyed another visit to Christmas Valley. I think that this one is one of my favorite books that I have read in this series so far. I have not read them all but I want to find the rest and devour them. I found the premise of this one interesting. It made me wonder how I would feel and what I would do in the same situation. I thought the characters navigated the situation pretty well. I always love Christmas magic and this series has plenty of it. I would highly recommend this book an series to anyone who enjoys Christmas romance reads.
I’ve enjoyed each of Ann Simas’ books but honestly, Jingle Bell Clock felt a bit off. I can’t quite put my finger on it but parts of the story felt off. Tally ran hot and cold, Sam and Tally’s conversations seemed immature at times and the sexual innuendos were not needed (in my opinion). A lot of their “feelings” seemed sexually based even though they kept stating that it was more than sex.
I truly wish I could pinpoint why this book left me with a sour taste. The writing is good and the story ends with a happily-ever-after but I didn’t feel any warm feelings.
The ninth book in the A Christmas Valley Romance series a well written story with a very good storyline, the story flowed smoothly across the pages. Tally Barrow wakes up after eleven months in a comma and does not remember Sam Reed, and she is really snarky with him when she sees him. At the start I was not to happy with her. I enjoyed reading this story, and seeing their love happen.
Sam is great, patient and truly in love with her. Tally is understandably confused, but this clock is very determined to ring her back into the right spirit. Such a fun read, very entertaining with several laugh out loud moments.
First, I want to thank Ann Simas for providing me with this book so I may bring you this review.
It wouldn’t be Christmas without a book by Ann Simas! She has the cutest title for her latest book Jingle Bell Clock! Not to mention the cover is too cute and very festive!
This book Ann dedicates to everyone who believes in the magic of Christmas.
If you are familiar with her other Christmas books you will recognize some familiar faces and places in the book.
I laughed at the mention of the maniacal clown from the movie Poltergeist popping up under Tally’s bed any moment to scare her.
This book was unlike any of Ann’s books in the past. This one had me from the start and wouldn’t let go of my attention until I knew what was seriously wrong with Tally. My heart broke for her with her not knowing what was going on with her, where she was, and why she was there!
The fact that there was mystery involved in the book and a bit of medical aspect to it I loved it.
There is one huge lesson in this book that hits very close home to me. That lesson is don’t drink and drive.
This book pulled on my heart strings in many areas.
Waking up from a coma and seeing a guy that says he's in love with you is not what Tilly expected much less have a magical Christmas clock. Well written, fun and cute with all the Christmas spirit.
I'm voluntarily reviewing this after receiving a free copy.
This is a great read. Coming out of a coma has to be disorienting but for Tally everything is different. Doesn't take long to realize things are down right weird. No spoilers here but well worth the read. Recommend.
Jingle Bell Clock was a fun, exciting, romantic, and somewhat silly holiday story. I was glad to see Tally finally come out of her coma and get her happy ever after.
