Introflirted: 31 Love Notes for Introverts

Rate this book
Amusing affirmations and pickup lines to tear out and send to your favorite introvert.

For the cautious introvert, the world of relationships can be a daunting one to navigate. Introflirted is a hilarious collection of postcard love notes created by fellow introvert, designer, and illustrator Josh Ryan.

Each graphically bold illustration is paired with a humorous, flirty note that is just bold enough : I've carefully crafted a mixtape to explain how I feel about you, Let's be each others excuse to not go to that party, I will never tell a restaurant it's your birthday, and 28 other witticisms about introversion will leave you chuckling as you say, Yes! That definitely sounds like us!

Each post card is perforated so you can share the love with all your favorite your best friend, your roommate, your significant other, or maybe even that cute stranger.

This is a great collection of about 30 postcards that you can either tear out and mail or leave in the book and share with others.

Because most readers are introverts, this will be an enjoyable, quick read. Some of my favorites:

"I won't talk to you before you've had your coffee... or after"

"I will never tell a restaurant that it's your birthday"

"For you I would go outside but please, not too often"

The cover is a good representation of the artwork and illustrations (all are red, black, and white) on each of the postcards within the book.

I needed another book that really wasn't going to eat up too much of my brain power so I picked this up. I discovered this author's Instagram account relatively recently and so was pleased I could support him by buying his work.

What I didn't realize was this isn't a book in a traditional sense, but rather a small flip book of postcards you can rip out and send to your friends. Ironically, this might be a fantastic way to keep in touch with your currently physically distanced friends, family, co-workers since you can't see each other and it might be fun to get something in the mail.

The postcards look a lot like the cover. Red, black and white drawings were similar sentiments expressing being alone, or leaving crowds behind, or finding activities to do together (but with no one else, etc.). They're fun and light-hearted, nothing much else really to say about them.

It's a quirky "book" that might be fun for a friend or romantic partner but it's probably not a book to keep, unless you really like this type of thing. Otherwise, it's a fun "gift" to give, perhaps as a going away present for someone who is very introverted. It was a nice "read" and fit the moment for me.

Right now, it can be tough to connect with your friends. As a waxing introvert, I tend to shy away from all but my most heartily established relationships. This playful book of postcards is a really great way for me to touch base with a friend or love interest, and hopefully get a giggle out of them. I personally didn't mail any of them and chose to hand deliver, but they appear to be fine if you were to just slap on a stamp.

Thank you for this really lovely, creative addition to my bookshelf!
