Big Talent, Huge Ego, and an Enormous… Everything. Josh- After years of hard work I finally landed my dream job as a musician with a major orchestra. When our new conductor with a name too hard to pronounce strutted on to the stage for the first time, he oozed a confident and cocky sex appeal that captivated me and every other person present. I was used to being the wallflower, the boy always picked last for the team. So when he demanded I meet him after work for a private rehearsal, I was shocked. Of course I went, only to discover my new conductor was a bit handsy, if you know what I mean. At first I thought I was reading too much into it, but the chemistry sparking between us was real. Serge was more than just my boss, he was a force of nature determined to make me his. Serge- Don't fall in love. Ever. That's how I lived my life, until I met him. When I first laid eyes on Joshua, all I could think of was how much I wanted to hear his voice screaming my name while I… you get the picture. I was coming dangerously close to falling for him, which could destroy me and the paper-thin walls I'd built to keep the world at bay. On the outside, I appeared to have everything a man could want. A successful career that spanned the globe, and a face that appeared on the covers of magazines. On the inside, I had a secret that could destroy us both. Mr. Mouthful is a red-hot read about a mercurial man who appears to have it all, but realizes he has nothing without the only man he loves by his side. It's book three in The Boys of Oregon Hill Series and can be read as a stand-alone novel.

I love it when a story has music in it. I almost could hear the warm voice of the cello (one of my favorite instruments), piano and orchestra, the passion of experiences music.

Joshua is co-owner of a coffee shop and is a cellist who finally gets a job at the orchestra. He has dear friends, all couples, he is kind of lonely without a lover.
The conductor of the orchestra is the famous Sergei Mikhailovich Kuznetsov. He is stunning and you can find him on the cover of a magazine.
The attitude of Serge is forceful, the volatile stance impressive. When Josh gets the opportunity to work one-on-one with Serge, he is dazzled by this genius.
When they start to share their bed and almost all their time together Joshua can’t understand what the stunning Serge wants with him.
But beneath Serge’s attitude shelters a totally other personality. One with fear and despair.

Alternately showing past and present and the views of Serge and Josh we get to know the whole picture. What makes a fabulous conductor, who has on first sight everything, fear life.

An smoothly and pleasantly written story. It was sweeter than I expected. Some disturbing facts from the past makes this story intriguing. Both main characters were engaging and lovable. The sexual tension was palpable. The family, colleagues and friends and their contribution, completed this story.
An entertaining emotional story with some mean sharp edges. The title is quite funny and has in my opinion multiple meanings.

Joshua's just opened up Percolate, his new coffee shop, and it's going well. But, his real love is music, so when he's offered a place in a major orchestra, he has to take it. Unfortunately, that new position comes with a new conductor, Mr. Mouthful, aka Sergei Kuznetsov. Serge is a seemingly hard, cold man with absolute perfectionist ideals, and Josh is terrified of him like everyone else is. He's also extremely attracted to him, but that's neither here nor there considering that Serge is so far out of Josh's league it's not even funny. Or so Josh thinks. But Serge has a story, a past, that Josh is unaware of, and it's one that Josh will have to deal with if he wants to stick with the man he's fallen in love with.

I loved Serge and Josh! They are so good together, and the way they fell in love, baggage and all, is perfect. Mr. Mouthful is both sweet and tender, and heartbreaking and heartwarming all at once. I will remember and love Josh and Serge and their story for a very long time.

Probably more like 4.5 stars!
I am soooo happy I read, Mr. Mouthful by Ian O. Lewis. It's my first book by this author and I really loved it. It's definitely a page turner. It kept me wanting more... When I first read the title, I had no idea what to think. I'm pretty sure I giggled. Yes, I have a dirty mind. But don't let the name fool you. Mr. Mouthful has everything you could want in a read. Fantastic memorable characters and a unique capitvating plot. Even the secondary characters were wonderful. There were a few scenes and subplots, I wish Ian had developed more. I think it would have enhanced the book even further. Pushing it to a solid 5 star.

Josh and Serge made me fall head over heels for them! Geez, I had so many feels throughout.... googebumps and butterflies! But it wasn't all rainbows and smiles some of the storyline made my heart hurt... Serge's seemingly perfect life is not so perfect. Perhaps making him come off as cold and detached. This gorgeous man is so much more then his grumpy yet sex-on-a-stick persona.... I loved how Ian teasingly gave me little glimpses of the man. He laid out little breadcrumbs that left me salivating for more with each flip of the page! Turns out this enigma of a man, actually has a heart of gold and is full of love! Maybe he just needed to find the right person and open his heart?
Josh is such a sweet heart. He's a happy go lucky type of guy with a selfless heart that is pure gold. He has a great life, a wonderful group of friends, but something is definitely missing. Could Mr. Grumpy be what he's been looking for? These two made me totally gaga! Sweet, sexy, emotional and fun. Mr. Mouthful is definitely a worthwhile read. Ian Lewis is now on my radar!

Very enjoyable story with strong characters who are not always what they seem. I loved the way Josh's influence helped Serge open up and become a more pleasant person toward others, and how he helped him find his strength to face the unknown, possible negative, future.. The sexual tension and chemistry was off the charts and the intimate scenes were hot and steamy. I really like all these characters. I would love to see Squeaky (aka the Matchmaker) find her match. Perhaps the right woman is out there?

Joshua is part owner in a coffee bar, Percolate, having left a nursing career. Shortly after that change he is offered a position as Cellist with the Richmond Symphony. The Symphony has a new conductor, Serge, who while talented and handsome has a severe personality. Serge invites Josh to begin working with him privately, on scores of music that he has written and their bond strengthens and Serge begins to mellow. A beautiful story revolving around Huntington's disease and its ravages and stages.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This is my favorite out of the three in this series. The emotions leap off the page and go straight to your heart. There are aspects to this story that are very relatable to the readers while they might not be exact. The strength of the fears though are spot on. What I especially liked was that we got to see some familiar characters and meet some new ones. Onnie is a trip. The bonds of friendship that Joshua has show just how strong they are with all the guys. I could see myself hanging with them and teasing as well as being supportive. Besides Sneaky needs another girl there and Suzi is too young. If you haven’t read this series yet you are missing out.

Jumping into Ian Lewis' Mr Mouthful, I had no idea what to except. It absolutely impressed the hell out of me.

It's an amazing love story, full of fear and despair, and sacrifice. The writing is fantastic, as it alternates past and present to present us with an amazing story. This book took me through the ringer. I smiled, I laughed, I cried, and I feared. A lot.

Both men are great characters, developed well and extremely memorable. I love the brash attitude of Serge in the beginning, followed by his slow change as he gets to know Josh. His whole demeanor changed for the better, as love can do for a person.

At it's heart, this book is a beautiful reminder of how lucky we are to be healthy (or healthy enough) and to be able to grow old with someone who we deeply love. Don't take life for granted. And don't take love for granted.

I highly recommend Ian Lewis' Mr Mouthful. It's absolutely wonderful!

There’s something very charming about this authors’s writing (despite some glaring and consistent copy editing errors, which I found very distracting), and I did enjoy Serge and Josh. The musical element was lovely, but for me something was lacking in the fleshing out of the romance. Despite being book 3 in a series, the story did stand alone, so that is great, but while previous books’ characters were used, I’m not interested enough to read their stories. Shame.

One suggestion for the author, if he reads this review: Please have a chat with your editor about how to punctuate dialogue correctly (direct address and speech tags).

Maybe this should be more of 2.5 stars.
There isn't anything 'wrong' with the story, just my feeling that the 'love' in it comes across as more 'lust' than anything else. When the character's only way of expressing their love is through sex, to me that feels more lusty than anything else.

Serge - well, I never entirely felt the sensual pull the author attempted to give him. And Josh's self deprecation (while relatable) got old really fast. But as a couple, they work.

Very enjoyable read

Very well written and enjoyable story. But just as all these ‘gay romance’ stories, it has too much explicit sex. That’s my pet peeve. This is a nice story and makes for a very pleasant read. Recommended.

Sorry, the ableism around the disease, Serge’s emotional immaturity (really? Breaking up with someone because of a disease at the age of 40?), and the lack of depth makes this 2 stars.

I get that the disease was horrific but to make a decision about the best thing you’ve had in that way? Nope, nope, nope.
