This is a good book overall. The first five chapters are especially good, but it gets boring after that. Gives a nice little slice of history that is fascinating but rarely told.
A fairly objective hitory of the introduction of whitey to fiji. It has a few interesting pictures and excellent discriptions although it gets most of its information from the westerners accounts. A good supplimental read if you are interested in island history, by no means complete I would also read "A History of the Polynesian Peoples" and even Typee for a more complete picture. Very interesting
