For the travel and adventure Bike Life shares the story of Tristan and Belén's adventures on various bicycle tours throughout Europe, North America and Central Asia. A book full of beautiful photographs and personal anecdotes, advice, and the many things they learned while being on the road. The book breathes adventure, but also bursts with interesting tips on how to plan your own bicycle tour, and provides some recommended routes. The book also provides an answer on the most commonly asked questions and concerns surrounding this exciting way of exploring the world, and gives inspiration to go out and pedal to a new place.
Back in late 2014, in an attempt to find meaning in my life, I decided to ride a bicycle from New York to Los Angeles. After having done this successfully in the space of two months, I decided it was something worth pursuing. So upon returning to the Netherlands, where I'm from, I bought a better second hand bike and some panniers, to start a ride from Bergen, my hometown, to Bergen (in Norway). Just before I left I met a Spanish girl named Belén, with whom I'd eventually start a relationship during my European bike ride.
In mid 2017, she decided to join the ride and ever since our mission has become to inspire as many people as possible to take out their bicycle and go for a ride, through photography, videography and books. And in case you love the Bike Life as much as we do, you're contributing to a healthier, more environmentally friendly and socially connected society. Happy riding!
A big, beautiful book of two of my favorite things: pretty pictures & long cycling adventures. It reads like a travelogue & I found myself wishing to know more about the cycling side of things, like miles traveled per day and how many flats did they change? Touring is intriguing!
Great photos and loads of interesting information to plan your cycling trip. I feel really inspired after reading this book and would recommend it to people interested in making their first step in bike packing.
