RATCHET CHURCH

Rate this book
After losing his virginity to a prostitute at sixteen by the hands of a father who thinks he might be gay, a sexual urge is awakened in a shy teenager that turns him into a married minister who cheats on his wife with fans and sexually frustrated members of his congregation. For his entire life he is torn between the church his mother reared him in, and the sex and drug filled world of his father. Both worlds collide and have an impact on the man he becomes.

Will the man ultimately become closer to God or the devil? Will his addiction to the flesh ruin his positive works? Will he lose a good woman? Will his children respect him?

These questions and more are answered in Ratchet Church, a look into one man's struggle between church, morality and flesh.

As usual author King did his thang! It took me no time to complete the book. Honestly they got churches like this for real. That's why I stopped going to church and chose to praise God from the comfort of my own home. I once attended what I had to learn the hard way, a ratchet Church. Affairs, gossiping, dress code looking like you bout to get in free before 10, fights, members beefing, you name it! That church is a hot mess. Pilgrim Valley Missionary Baptist Church 😑 I call it Club Valley 🤦‍♀ I enjoyed reading this. I love everything by author King! If y'all not reading his books you missing out ✌

This was a very good book, it was real and relatable. It is a book that a young man can read and understand some facts of life. It is a book that a maturing man can pick and understand some of his faults. Overall a great book.

Great and realistic, a must read especially for young man. Really enjoyed the ending, very well put together. Thank you.

Redemption

Loved this story about a no good cheating pastor who recorded all his extramarital sexual exploits. He had a horrible upbringing, which is typical of black pastors. This book has some POV issues but it’s all good. It doesn’t lose a star or take away from the value of the story as a whole.

I would make this a must read it was a great book. Just wish they would revise it and make correction on the names that they mixed up

Very entertaining

I really enjoyed reading this book. Each character was brought alive so well that it felt like I knew each one of them, or someone who I can relate them to in real life.

I enjoyed it

First time read from this author. I enjoyed the book. My only problem with it was that at times I wouldn't know who was speaking. It would go from dale to his brother etc.. Other than that, it was good.

Didn’t finish it

I didn’t finish this book because it was all over the place. When you think the author is talking about one character, the sentence cuts off and talks about another character and telling their story. Very confusing

Truth

Dale thought he was above all. Power makes people crazy. It is always easier to use your power for bad instead of good. But just like Dale you can rise above it.
